Gazi
Went for lunch with work colleagues, amazing food and great atmosphere
Went to GAZI with my son before a concert. Both of us were extremely happy with the quality of the food as well as the warmth and friendliness of the staff.
Food was very tasty with amazing flavours! Portion size in terms of price, was on the small size. Place was extremely busy and I think because of that, the service wasn’t great. One of our party was served their food after everyone else had finished their dishes, which was annoying. I would go back for the food though.
Service was acceptable. Staff were friendly and helpful as they accommodated to our last minute plans. However, the food was a disappointment. It wasnt enjoyable. Was really disappointed with the steak in particular.
Always great. Food, service, vibe
The food was amazing and so well priced! Will definitely be coming back soon!
It's such a pity that the Sunday surcharge was a nasty surprise, it left a bad taste in our mouths after what was a delicious meal and fun experience with friends.
It was meant to be a special night.
We accidentally got more food that wasn’t ordered, none of them were cooked well. Pork was dry and the lamb had more fat then meat.
We then got Greek coffee that wasn’t even done properly and we just got a sorry. Nothing at all was offered to us. Overall really disappointing. We had to cut our night short, due to the coffee making my husband very ill.
Good and service was amazing. The waitress was really nice spending the time to explain and recommend dishes for us.
The food was ok, we unfortunately had the set menu on valentines day which was very expensive for what you got, should have bothered to choose ourselves but we were with friends and wanted to catch up. Food was nice but nothing to get excited about. Cake for dessert was aweful and could not eat so very expensive for not a lot of food which came out too quickly.
Fantastic return visit as visitors from Sydney, this time for a very quick pre meal show meal for 3 people. On letting staff know we had limited time they made sure we were served very quickly but food and service remained perfect. Attentive, thoughtful and genuinely warm staff, super fresh, creative and beautiful food as always. This is true customer service and a wonderful dining experience in every sense of the word. Just a really great experience. Thank you.
The most amazing Greek food, thank you for a great experience and an impressive banquet
Amazing food, service, atmosphere, and everything, slightly noisy but totally worth putting up with! Waitress was incredible she totally made the experience!
While we enjoyed most of the food, the restaurant was extremely noisy even though it was half full. We had to shout to be heard on a table of four people. The wine was overpriced also. The noise issue needs to be addressed as it was often mentioned in previous reviews.
Awesome food - in fact one of the best meals I have had in Melbourne. Well done George!
Always enjoyed the fabulously tasty food here - tender lamb falls gently off the bone, zucchini flowers, dip and pita and fries with feta. Our tomato salad was forgotten but we were too full anyway! Noise level is too loud, thumping music is unbearable! Nice cocktail, glass of wine and generally good, cheerful service helped allay the annoyance of the noise!
food and service were amazing...it was noisy and crowded but that made it fun...it was all good !
Delicious food. Great service. Very loud. Great fun. Must try the spanikopita gyoza!
Fantastic evening with friends enjoying superb Greek food in a lively buzzing atmosphere
We arrived at 5.30pm and the place was already lively, the couple ahead of us were just told that it was at least an hours wait for a table. Thankfully we had booked a week in advance and had a table waiting. Service was friendly and relaxed, and excellent. The food was all sensational, from start to finish. The chicken skewers were unbelievably delicious, and the pavlova was beautifully presented.
I can highly recommend Gazi, but book ahead to avoid disappointment.
Amazing, great food, even better service, there was a mix up with our table and they waiter was extremely apologetic but made sure we had a great experience. Waiters were professional, my husband and I still can’t stop talking about the food! Highly recommended
good food and the staff were very friendly. Thanks
Great service! Fast and delicious meals. A must when you are in Melbourne.
Very lively but noisy. It is not good for business dinner.
Gazi was fun, if noisy. The food was simple, but done brilliantly. The South Korean waitperson was fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeable - and happy to engage. Wr had the Beta menu, and mistakenly ordered extra bread - we didn't need it.
We ordered the $69 “feed me” menu and after receiving the first few courses nothing arrived for around 30minutes. We had to inform staff that we had a concert to attend and then had to eat our food extremely fast after it arrived. Our dessert was put into boxes for us to take away but 2 out of the 6 were missing.
Outstanding restaurant, the chicken is sensational
3rd visit and great as usual! Look forward to our next visit!
We thoroughly enjoyed the food served and the service was good, however our experience was spoilt by the ridiculously excessive noise level. Disappointed as we had travelled for a special occasion to be there.
We thought the food was poorly cooked for the price charged, and the waitress was quite pushy when it came time to settle the bill.
Hugely underwhelming food. Good dips to start, but totally dry and tasteless chicken, an arancini allegedly filled with moussaka, but only contained cloying bechamel. Second time I've been, second time very disappointed. There won't be a third chance.
Excellent food, friendly staff and efficient service!!
Thank you for another very memorable meal @ Gazi, we simply loved it
We took our friends who were in Melbourne for the tennis who had travelled from Narrabri in northern NSW, I feel so proud to be able to showcase such a superb establishment
Each little morsel was a taste sensation
We will all return....soonish hopefully
Had the Gazi Greek yum cha. Good food, not great, and just not enough to be value for money. Some dishes were great others a bit weird and kinda bland. VERY noisy too so be warned. Not in a rush to return to be honest.
Great service and ambience. Staff were outstanding. A must dining destination if in Melbourne .
Having had Gazi on our radar for lunch/dinner on many a trip to Melbourne from Sydney .. at last we made it. And all i can say is it will be on our itinerary on all future visits.
The service snd anbirnce were great .. and the food ... OMG !
Make this a MUST on any inter-staters visit
Make sure you plan early if you want to book ... else it’s a walk-up and wait
In awe of thexteam at Gazi
Very busy lunch. Tasty food. Cuttlefish was very tender. Calamari a tad challenging to cut being in such a big piece. Object to surcharge on debit card.. surely reflected in cost of food.
Lovely lunch
We had a 2 hour booking. But we were constantly pestered so decided not to buy more rounds and to move on.
New menu is very expensive ($17 for a small souvlaki that previously cost $12). $29.90 Bend over box no longer available and the replacement $29.90pp option is not flexible to our groups needs (We really want an option with a souva).
Probably won't be back unfortunately.
Amazing food as always and great to see George make an appearance!
Food, as expected, was great. Nothing fancy here, just great flavors excuted through simple cooking.
Standouts had to be the chargrilled cuttlefish and grilled chicken. Overall, great meal with a great atmosphere.
Service level was cordial and average. Nothing to shout out about.
Lovely food in a nice environment. The lamb was so good we ordered a second serving. The only thing I didn’t like was the addition of a credit card charge to the bill when they didn’t know or didn’t ask how I was going to pay.....which was cash
