Got in earlier than had booked and was seated immediately. Staff were friendly. Got a beef souvlaki that was burnt to a crisp, didn't complain as I thought it was the style of cooking.
Very different, this is the second time we go there and I consolidated my first experience as there is so much into each dish.
I recommend Gazi Greek for an experience if you like Tappas with a diference.
Great to go there with a nice group (we were 9) so that you have a lot to taste!
Very well managed. So busy but still comfortable, still received the service with a smile and those pots on the ceiling seem to muffle all that noise...we could still hear one another talk.
Well done Gazi Greek!
We had been to Gazi before and had a great experience. This time, not so much. The food was average and were small servings (even for large sharing plates). Given the menu had changed, the options weren't so diverse, no lamb mains? At a Greek restaurant? Also, the waitress was less than happy to serve us and assist in menu choices. It felt like we were almost annoying her. The staff make or break your experience, a smile goes a long way.
Gazi did not disappoint. We had a lovely window table so the view was great. The chips were amazing and the other dishes were really tasty too. As a vegetarian there was plenty to choose from.
Excellent Greek food with modern tweaks. Very hip and happening vibe!
Delicious food and an even better vibe! Bar tables are perfect for dates!
Great express lunch spot - the Bend Over Box is great value!
Memorable experience, attentive staff and great food. Would go back
Our table was a table for 2. The tables were so close together I could barely fit between them. We heard every word of the conversation at the table next to us, which was a little uncomfortable. The lady was also very loud to the point we couldn't hear each other speaking. Other than that, brilliant food & service as usual.
great night we had last sunday night at Gazi, great food , we had the Gama … we were treated great by time we walked in by the lovely lady at the front desk and our French waitress was great with her knowledge and very friendly , we had a ball with her looking after us.
thanks heaps guys
Food was very bland and average. The steak was dry and had no sauce. The fish was cooked well but also came with no sauce and was very bland so it was very hard to eat.
bit little wait to be served by our waiter, but we didn't mind as we could see they were busy.
Very loud in there, hard to talk.
Food was sensational !! staff were friendly
Great food. Booth was a bit cosy for six but overall very nice.
amazing experience from start to finish. the staff were really helpful and friendly. food was really good too
We were a group of 5 people , visiting from Sydney. Our expectations were surpassed
Second time dining at Gazi, but first time with the new menu - still did not disappoint! Everything was delicious. Especially the spanakopita gyoza
Great food and service was exceptional! Would recommend a visit if you are in Melbourne.
By far one of the BEST Greek food I've ever had. Every dish was great!
Our meals were delicious ... except for the Crispy Beef ... way too over cooked to the point I couldn’t actually taste any beef.
Great night for my daughters 21 st family dinner at GAZI
Gazi is always a winner, I have eaten there with friends for special occasion, with my partner, with my partner and children and now for a business meal. It's been a winner each time.
Environment was nice and vibrant, however food was average. Over hyped..only thing reasonably priced is the souvlakis.
Was slightly disappointing second time around. Menu not quite up to previous visit.
The team was amazing, we has a great night! 10/10 experience and the food was incredible. one of my favourite spots.
Food was delish. Staff were fantastic! Only downfall was tables squashed very close together and you felt like you were having dinner with the people next to you.
Service and food was exceptional but it was so noisy I felt uncomfortable and couldn’t have a conversation with my partner
Advised at booking I was a coeliac. Told the waiter, who gave me their gluten free options. Ordered the gluten free options, specifying gluten free. Yet the food delivered by the kitchen staff was not gluten free. It was supposed to be dip and gluten free bread. I called the waiter back to check, as the bread did not look like GF bread, and she whisked it away. I received the gluten free bread with my meal. Double check before eating any bread if you are a coeliac as the message can be lost between the waiter and the kitchen.
The food, service and interior was fantastic. What didn't work was the acoustics. I couldn't hear anyone speak. Don't go if you're hoping to have a conversation without shouting.
We were welcomed nicely and our waitress was extremely helpful. The prawn was delicious as was the chicken serving and the chips. Service was quick, thoughtful and courteous. We felt very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our meal
Has gone a little down hill in terms of food and service. Used to adore this place.
8 Course Lunch
As always Gazi delivered on the food front!! Everything was delicious cooked to perfection and just down right tasty. The only disspointment was being served a rather boring vanilla soft serve for dessert . When they have Loukoumades and other amazing desserts on the menu it was disspointing to receive a 'McDonalds' soft serve for dessert. Service was faultless and the value is great. Such a shame to end an otherwise excellent experience with the dessert we were given.
Nice food but not as good as a previous visit. Felt a bit let down on the overall experience but my expectations may have been too high. As a group of 5 we were seated at a 4 seat table with a chair added to the end so was a bit cramped and dark in the back corner, not the atmosphere I was hoping for. I was taking my family as a treat and had talked it up form my previous experience, we left without dessert straight after eating as my family did not enjoy. Food was yummy though although the chips with feta and rosemary were over oily like they had sat at the bottom of the fryer basket too long, not enjoyable at all.
Our second time at Gazi, and we were not disappointed!
Great food, great service, can't wait to return!
I took my mum to GAZZI as a surprise!
The service was amazing as I was able to trust the staff with leaving the balloons, flowers and gifts during the day, so for when my mum came for dinner, she would see everything set up on the table ! they were able to help me with everything I asked and made my mum and I feel very comfortable. The environment had such good vibes where I could see my mum was just glowing with happiness. The food tasted immaculate ! Mum and I were very impressed ! The birthday cake was just to die for ! Overall, the service and food was amazing and we will highly recommend this to our family and friends! Can’t wait to come back.
Really good food each with an unexpected twist, service and speed of serving exceptional.
Celebrated our 14 year old daughter’s birthday. Wonderful food and service. She felt very special!
The food was delicious, full of different flavours and good sized serves. I would have liked more bread served with the dips - we had to keep asking for more. Our waiter was a little difficult to understand when she was explaining the menu but very attentive and professional. I would definitely return to Gazi so I can try some of the other menu options. Highly recommended.
Outstanding food and service. Fabulous food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommended
We felt rushed. We were there celebrating a special achievement and felt pressured to order, eat and leave. We had the first option for the sharing menu. The chicken was delicious, the tuna okay and the basic ice cream with a drizzle of sauce was very underwhelming to end our meal.
Service was good although when booking we did indicate we were celebrating a birthday but this was not mentioned at all by the staff. Everyone really enjoyed their meals, with the exception of the fish of the day. It was such a small portion (esp for the price) it definitely should not have been in the 'large plates' section of the menu. 3 tiny, thin, almost over cooked tuna slices and a slice of lemon is not a large plate.
Love the house sodas and staff are always friendly. It's an oldie but a goodie
