Great staff and very good food！！
The OpenTable reservation wasn’t on their system for some reason and it was the only glitch of the evening. Food was great as was the music, ambience and service.
The restaurant seems focussed more on ambience rather than good food... Ordered lamb, saganaki, tarama and a salad...and the best dish was the salad
First time to Gazi, and I was blown away with the quality of food! The chips, the greens, the souvas... (why don't they have lamb?). Well paced service too - will be making a return!
A pre-Christmas dinner with the girls at Gazi was a lovely night. Staff were a little awkward when we informed them about dietary requirements due to allergies but I assume they were being overly cautious. Between us we shared Melitzanosalata - the person with nut allergies had EVOO with their pita instead, Zucchini Fritters - these were a little too greasy, Pork and Fennel Meatballs, Saganaki - with the chutney on the side due to allergies, Salt and Pepper Squid - yum! and Chips with Feta - a very generous portion! This was more than enough food for the 3 of us and was all tasty. We washed it down with a bottle of Giant Steps Chardonnay which was delicious - we even managed to get an extra glass when staff brought over a glass even though we had ordered a bottle. Service was a little haphazard with different staff members taking orders, bringing food, asking and answering questions but it was the week before Christmas and was busy. This also meant it was noisy but we managed to have a good catch up! The bill was very reasonable indeed and the food good enough to make me return.
Great food and service
We had a booking (via Open table) however they said we didn’t and sat us on the bar/a corner of the bar. We couldn’t hear each other speak so we had to inhale our food and leave. The food is great though, just disappointing
Really enjoyed the experience - the main negative is the price of the wines - way to expensive!
Great food, service and atmosphere!
Nice choice for business lunch. We enjoyed food and ambiance. Great flavours and wine list
Great staff - attentive, helpful and very professional. Food and drinks came quickly which was great given we had a concert to go to. Would definitely return.
Everything was perfect service was excellent and food delicious
The service was very mediocre. it would be nice to have them there when you are about to order because i nearly waited 20 minutes for them to serve. experienced the waiting before ordering twice. we only really came back because of the food.
Awesome food and service
My wife ordered fish. Came cold and not cooked properly. She returned it and we were not charged BUT THIS IS NOT THE POINT. I ordered lamb roast shoulder and was good quality. I asked with what accompaniment was the dishes served but I was told with nothing. You need salad You have to order separate. In short it proves the point that eating at Big Chefs restaurant does not guarantee quality but only high price. I short I would not be going again and I will not recommended it to any of my friends.
Felt relaxed and welcome as soon as we walked in. Service was fast, polite and non intrusive. Food was delicious, best wagyu beef I’ve ever tasted!
This was my second time with Garzi, the first time blew me away, couldn’t believe what I ate! The second time I was very disappointed, the flavours were not there, the service was great and quick, but I though the food lacked punch! My wife and I were very disappointed! Which was a shame! It may have been what we ordered but it was nothing that couldn’t of been achieved at home, homus and pita bread, come on George step up your game!!
I would only recommend people to eat at Gazi only once for the experience and to taste their food . I thought the doughnuts dessert was fantastic. I enjoyed the spanakopita gyozas and the calamari. My beef souvlaki was a bit dry and I had to ask for extra sauce. But given that this restaurant is top of the range, you should never have to add any extra sauce to your food.
Great service & good food
One of Melbourne’s best dining experiences. A great take on Greek cuisine and the service and care is the team was terrific.
Food was amazingly tasty, and the service was prompt and attentive. I only had an issue with the limited portions for the money spent. $33 for a glass of wine and small souva...
Outstanding dining experience. Loukoumi! Friendly, competent staff, delicious food and reasonable prices.
Definitely recommend. Had a lovely meal sampling lots of small, vegetarian plates with good friends. Add a nice wine and it was all thumbs up for me.
Always really enjoy dining at Gazi. We were greeted as soon as we entered the restaurant by a friendly attendant who then gave us a table option of by the window or not. We also ordered some drinks at the bar while we waited for the table and just overall all the staff we spoke to were very friendly and just made the experience really good. The food was so good my boyfriend and I loved every dish!! We will be back again
Food is amazing, great wine list, great atmosphere.
Delicious food! However the carrots were a tad underdone - still crunchy.
Brilliant!! Food was Amazing and the service was Exceptional. Such a lovely experience all round.
Great staff. Food expensive for what you get really.
My friend recommended Gazi to me. I was in Melbourne for a special weekend away with my mum. We both have an appreciation for simple food done well and I think Gazi is just that!
The service was beyond amazing... the waiters were very proactive in describing the menu and even suggested to get half servings of some dishes which was clever.
We ordered the hero dish - The a roast lamb. My god, it was bloody amazing. And those chips! Yum.
I’ll be back!
We ordered the express lunch and the salad was just leaves which was disappointing. The rest was fine.
Very average food, woeful service and poor acoustics. Won’t be going back nor recommending it to others. Particularly disappointing that the meat on the menu wasn’t from free range producers.
We went as a family. Extremely loud and dark for kids. More appropriate for after work drinks. Food was ok. I went about a year ago and food was out of this world, so was disappointed this time. No kombucha anymore?! 😭
Too much mayo in the wraps, both felt uncomfortable after
Great food, service was good. Will come again
I have a friend going to Melbourne for the long weekend and I have already recommended that she go to Gazi as she will not be disappointed.
The service was outstanding as was the food. Our waitress assisted us with how much we needed for 5 ladies to share and she was spot on. The lamb fell off the bone and the chips are the best.
Thank you Gazi will definitely be back!
I was not very happy with the 4 tiny pieces of squid that we received, much too expensive for what appeared on our table. The pork belly skin was chewy and only 'crackly' on the very edges which made it inedible. I was very disappointed considering I was a returning customer after a fantastic experience the first time around. I lashed out to take my mum for her birthday so was a bit sad. The service was great though.
Amazing food. Delicious chocolate brownie.
Great venue and food was delicious. Portions are very small so would definitely recommend getting an entree and main.
Amazing the second time around!! Will definitely continue to recommend to friends!!
We had one of the set menus and it was spectacular. Every dish was exceptional and the sheer quantity of the food was more than ample for two hungry people. I would particularly single out the dips and the lamb shoulder. The young waitress really knew her hospitality and was friendly and very helpful. We will certainly go again
