Great quality food. Enjoyable evening with a friendly service.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommended
The service was astounding, and the food was possibly even better
The ravioli was undercooked and hard. The vongole was the most tasteless pasta I’ve ever had in my life. Truffle risotto was the only decently tasting fish we had, but had been plopped on the plate in a most unappetising looking manner. Terrible, overpriced food. We will never return.
first time i tried Fumo and it wont be the last. loved it
Amazing food! It was my first time but I will definitely go there again soon! The ambience was great and quiet! The service was a bit slow but that’s ok.
As always, impeccable. Not one of us left with a less than perfect experience. This is how a great restaurant operates.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant. Friendly but efficient service. Delicious food and reasonably well priced.
We shall be returning in a few weeks time.
Very poor vegan options (£15 for some marinated vegetables!) and a disinterested waiter. Far better options nearby.
An Italian restaurant that has jumped on the ‘small plates server when we can be bothered band wagon’. This concept works where the dishes are similar sizes and cooked fresh but in an Italian where the menu follows the typical Italian pattern (antipasti, primo, secondi) with traditional Italian menu items, it just doesn't make sense. It doesn't work either, as the random order in which the food arrived meant we got our bread and olives at the end of the meal!
You could forgive this attempt to follow this annoying restaurant trend if they lived up to their claim that ‘you get your food when it is cooked and ready’ but it’s difficult to excuse when you are served lukewarm pasta that's clearly been sitting in a pot or under a heating lamp for an hour.
The quality of the food was average at best. The pasta was overcooked, the sauce was gloopy and the presentation was non-existent, with food randomly slopped onto the plates. Four Mozzarella balls about the size of a walnut (£6.25) thrown onto curled-up lettuce and one sliced plum tomato. Absolutely no creativity, finesse or care.
The portion sizes do not warrant the cost either (i.e. £13 for a starter size pasta), and you get the distinct feeling that the small plate concept is simply an excuse to reduce cost whilst preserving their bottom line.
The service was attentive but having my pronunciation of "Paccheri" corrected by a sneering Italian waiter grated with me and set an uncomfortable mood for the rest of the lunch.
This restaurant must either change its menu to reflect their small plate philosophy or revert to a traditional restaurant serving Italian how it should be served; ideally the latter. There is no place in the London food scene for this over-rated, pretentious and under-performing restaurant. For a decent Italian at similar prices, go to Cecconi's or Margot where you won't leave feeling like you've spent two hours in a hospital canteen.
Convenient, but staff were not very attentive and I thought quite pricey for the size of portion.
Loved this restaurant-fantastic for families great food and super service
Great attention to detail in both food and service!
Really a perfect experience at Fumo. The service is nice and deliberate. The food are tasty, especially the duck salad and ravioli...definitely will visit there again.
Small portions poor value for money, too fast service doesn't give you enough time to appreciate good quality of the food. Food is always good and we always come back.
The food was very nice however the price was a bit high
I was very impressed the first time I went, but they need to work on their service. They took over 45 mins to slowly collect the plates and I ended up asking if we could see dessert menu. Food also turned up cold. Was waxing lyrical about this place the first time I went, but think I might leave it a while before I return.
This restaurant is very overpriced for what it is. They don't make this very clear on their menu, and certainly not on the opentable listing, but they serve Tapas, so you have to order 2-3 small plates, that come out when they're ready. Personally I think Tapas is the biggest con out there to get you to pay more for less. And the pleasure of dining out is eating together, as in at the SAME TIME, not one person eating while the other waits for their dish. Thre service was slow and frankly rude rather than unfriendly. There are much nicer italian restaurants out there that cost a lot less.
Wonderful decor, flavoursome food and great cooktails!
I loved the grazing aspect of this restaurant. It was a great atmosphere service was quick and professional and the food was delicious.
Lovely food as always. The regular cocktails leave much to be desired. Perhaps the bartender was having an off day?
Would always recommend.
wonderful family lunch at Fumo. We have been to the one in Manchester and Selfridges London before but the ambience here is the best. Serv ice was exceptional and each dish was so tasty
Birthday. A little underwhelming by the restaurant, they just stuck a single candle in the birthday girl’s dessert!
It was lovely.
Not rushed even though some of the party were late.
Great service & tasty food. Buzzy ambience
Great truffle risotto, buzzy vibe and good service.
Service excellent. Tasty food. Perfect wine. Thank you.
It was a nice atmosphere, with nice food that’s a little expensive. The portion sizes were good although you do need a few plates per person. The restaurant were very accommodating of bringing a baby with us. Overall, a nice, pleasant experience.
Excellent service, great menu. Friendly, efficient, professional staff.
Although we were advised the food would come at different times it would have been good to have the meatballs with the veg. Other than that we loved it there and would go back
We really enjoyed our evening at Fumo on Friday . Very busy pre Christmas so staff were fairly pre-occupied but everyone was very friendly and the food delicious. Would definitely recommend, and will revisit!
Service was appalling. Waited 20 minutes before even being offered a drink and when we asked to order it was slammed down on the table.
Food was tasty and served quick but was cold. we were made to feel quite unwelcome for no apparent reason and only upon approaching a manger to discuss the poor service did we receive a service of a regular standard.
Food was exceptional, but the service was disappointing. Drinks left on bar and had to ask for them, and the same with the food. Amazing restaurant just the service let them down a bit.
Lovely lunch with friends following a recommendation although I was not aware it was tapas. Food was excellent but the dishes were rather small especially for what you pay. Service and ambience excellent.
We always enjoy our meals at Fumo. Staff are excellent, ambience is very good and the food, as always, is of the highest quality.
Fabulous food, great choices, easy to find will be back soon.
Had a very tasty meal, and for a chain italian it offers more than your bog standard pizza and pasta. Definitely need to book as the restaurant is full of theatre goers all day. Staff were a little disorganised initially, but the restaurant was full and they were all very charming and service excellent in that we were checked many times. The middle size plates vary in size, so it's difficult to know how much to order. But all were very tasty. The atmosphere was busy in an authentic Italian way, but welcoming and enjoyable. I would go definitely go back. It's also perfect for the Duke of York Theatre.
Loved the food! It really is exceptional. The staff are friendly and were helpful choosing the wine. It's such a find in the heart of the westend with a lovely interior and great service.
A really buzzy restaurant with very friendly staff. Some of the service was a little slow but it wasn’t an issue for us on this occasion. The food was superb. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend it.
Cibo e ristorante molto buono servizio un po’ lento prezzi ragionevoli .
