Full Moon Hotel
The Moon delivers an authentic coastal vibe and plenty of space to chill and enjoy the live music, stellar 180 degree views of Bramble Bay and alfresco ambience.
With a menu awash with quality, locally caught seafood and produce thanks to Head Chef Richard Sellers, and a choice of relaxed bar areas, find your favourite spot to sip your cool jam jar cocktail or a crafty ale.
The Moon is a hive of activity all week long, offering eclectic weekly pub entertainment ranging from brain-busting trivia nights to lazy Sunday acoustic chill sessions and everything in between. And with it’s handy bottle shop, well-appointed function facilities, and the best water views in Brisbane, the Full Moon Hotel is a destination bar and restaurant experience you didn’t even realise you were missing out on.
Hi . I started today's lunch experience at The Full Moon Sandgate with a stop firstly at The Bottle Shop to buy a gift. The Staff member couldn't have been more helpful with both the gift and the gift bag. I then moved onto to the Restaurant and Bar and from the moment I arrived I was treated with the utmost respect and courtesy by Kieren, Em, Ivan, Alex and the other Team Members. My Grandfather Cocktail was made to perfection and my Pork Cutlet was cooked just right by Richard's Team and was very interestingly presented and proved to be very tasty indeed. I spent an enjoyable few hours with a close friend overlooking the beautiful Bay on a very hot and muggy Brisbane February Sunday. I would certainly highly recommend this venue for meals, service , price and location. What a vantage point it has ! I will definitely be returning ASAP. If you venture to this Hotel, I hope your experience is a positive as mine was. Regards, Kit Ison.
We had an evening out with work colleagues; food was great, service was great, staff were attentive and welcoming. We booked at table indoors as the nights are very balmy however the air-conditioning inside was very patchy and where our table was located, it was very, very warm. Apart from that, we all a great night out! Regards Marika
nice place good food I have been before its still the same
The Full Moon Hotel is our local and we LOVE it. Such a great place to meet and eat with our friends and family. Love the food, the ambience and the service is always absolutely excellent !
Food of very poor standard.1 meal out of 5 only acceptable. Have had many”pub foods and this would be the worst.
I feel they are trying too hard. Keep pub food Authentic. When a person orders a Steak Sandwich keep it true to a Steak Sandwich( normal bread, onions ,beetroot, tomato, lettuce.)
Chicken dry and overcooked on Chicken burger. Offer seeded and non seeded buns as not everyone can eat or like seeded buns.
Went to celebrate a birthday but Definately won’t be back.
Waitresses lovely. Cashier gentleman rude and abrupt especially noticed comments to children rude. It is suppose to be a family friendly restaurant, certainly isn’t
Children’s play area disgusting,
Excellent food, menu has plenty to choose from. Good atmosphere. Great service. Friendly staff
I only put your Service as 'Very Good' and not 'Excellent' because I should hold something back - the service excellent!!
I've been to the Full Moon Hotel more times than I can possibly remember. It's always a great experience, with delicious food, wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff.
I changed the booking from 5 people to 7 people online but that message did not get through and we had to turn 2 of our friends away.
As always the food was delicious and good value for money. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
Great food, great atmosphere, great view highly recommend.
Sitting out at tables on footpath a perfect place to have a wine and enjoy the view
food was great but disappointing you have to line up for so long to order food, when meant to be a romantic lunch, one person is left at the table for a while waiting.
Always a good venue for a mixed age family celebration - good service & menu choice - easily accessible for frail older person but the children’s play area needs an overhaul!
My steak was a fraction overdone, otherwise a great lunch with great service. Winning the prawn tray was a major bonus!
An excellent night out. Very good food, delivered promptly. Very good variety on the menu. Definately go again.....soon.
Air con was on but doors open to veranda so mosquitoes came in. Very hot when the breeze died down, would suggest closing doors so mozzies stay out and air con can work.
Friendly staff at the order counter, food delivery staff a little abrupt when barking our names to deliver meals.
300g rump steak was cooked to perfection medium rare but seemed very small for 300g snd was served in 2 small pieces so maybe it looked smaller than if It was one in one piece.
Overall our table rated the food good, not great but nice. Not sure I’d return unless the air con and mozzie issue is fixed though, makes for an uncomfortable evening.
A lovely location with water views and a cool breeze. There is a wide range of menu items and our meals were of generous proportions and very tasty.
Food quality has dropped a lot we were there with a large group could not finish a $39 T bone steak thought it was just my food but I was not alone will not return with a large group again unless food gets better. Also Oysters were so tiny I wasn’t sure wether to laugh or cry. It was so hot while dining it was uncomfortable and I work out in the sun.
It’s our local favorite
Great food and cooked quick with reasonable prices. Good facilities and atmosphere. Only one concern was the deck area was stifling hot as where we were had no fans. Suggest they look at the big fans and keep the area cool. If we had been inside it would have been great. A black beer on tap could also go well. Otherwise the 10 of us thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at full moon
The chicken burger was overcooked & dry. The duck salad was excellent. Great table in aircon with view
Lovely ambience on the front deck looking over Bramble Bay. Meal was tasty and reasonable price. Feel lucky to have this local haunt on our Sandgate doorsteps.
Came to the Full moon hotel for the first time with a group of 4 - including my elderly parents who are hard of hearing - we all loved it and created a lovely memory. They managed well with the noise level and the food was excellent: very high level Aussie pub fare. There were happy new year groups of families and the atmos was up beat and the service excellent. Thanks Full Moon, we’ll be back. 😃
We had our annual café lunch for 14 people and were impressed with how well the lunch went. The thing that impressed me the most was that you took the name of the person ordering for food. This cut through all issues of who order what. The staff were friendly and happy.
We were at table no 10 we had a lovely breeze through the two door ways which made it really comfortable for our group. the service was good And we stayed on after lunch to continue our day. Staff were good meals came quickly. Thanks
Always just a nice place to go for a relaxed-pace walk out on the pier and dinner afterwards
Always friendly, helpful service.
The Barramundi was the best I have ever had - super crispy skin & tender flesh. Delicious!
Great food in nice surroundings. Friendly staff deliver great service.
Seafood plate for two had a wide array food that tasted delicious. Staff was a bit slow and unattending
I’ve been at the full moon hotel numerous times. I have noticed that portion sizes are getting smaller while the price keeps going higher. Also, my meal was tasteless. I’ll come back again and will talk to the management if it is the same standard for my next visit.
We were at tables 54 and 55 under some skylights and it was pretty hot, the air con didn't seem to reach us at all. Food and service was fantastic as usual
Food and service offering provided was of a reasonably high standard.
Staff were helpful and polite. Enjoyable Saturday afternoon.
Needed more bar staff, apart from that, very friendly staff and lovely meal.
The food was lovely but the service of the Bar staff was terrible. I was waiting in line with my friend for a drink and we were having a conversation whilst others ahead of us were being served. Then I heard “Hellooo???” From the lady bar tender in the rudest tone. I was actually really shocked she has said it, I watched her served other patrons with no smile, no interest in being there and as if we were all just an inconvenience for her .
The Full Moon hotel was very noisy and we had to wait a long time for our food which, when it arrived, was very disappointing - that applied to all 4 guests. The linguine in particular was totally overpowered by a heavy dose of chilli, whereas a tiny amount would have given zest, this spoiled the effect entirely. In retrospect I feel that the two diners who had this dish should have returned them. The pizza was dry and not appetising and the burger was unimpressive. The only thing we can highly recommend about this venue is the wonderful view. The service was average. If they lifted their performance in the kitchen I doubt they would cope with the influx of diners of any given day. The coffee and cake was, however, very good and welcome.
What a wonderful evening and dinner, Full Moon was prompt with meals , all were beautifully presented and wonderfully flavoursome, specials were terrific. All meals were hearty and some had to be shared for medical reasons. Unfortunately no small options were offered
Very enjoyable experience love the views and general atmosphere
Excellent char grill barramundi
Could do with better quality champagne
Overall very pleasant on a hot day and table was nice and private
Lovely place for afternoon coffee or wine. Sitting outside with the glimpses of water and sea breeze does the soul good .
If you like music and chatter inside is good however the place for a quiet chat is definitely outside.
