I pre-booked my table asking for a nice table because it was my son's 21st and he had requested this restaurant.

When I arrived we were shown to a basic booth (instead of the nice round booths available) and no mention was made of my son's birthday. In fact, when we mentioned it at the end (when the waitress asked if we were doing anything nice later) she didn't even know.

The burgers we had were average and I struggled to find something I liked on the menu. I opted for the Festive Menu with southern fried chicken for starters. They were hard and overcooked damaging the upper inside of my mouth,, and the meatballs & pasta was so disgusting I sent it back. I refrained from eating anything else because I was so unimpressed with any of my food. The meatballs were solid, horrible pre-formed things moulded into oblong-shaped balls, and were tough to bite into instead of the soft mince-style meatballs I have eaten at other establishments. There was a lot of penne pasta and very little sauce too.

The restaurant was dark and appeared a little tired, not indicative of the experience I had had previously had (quite some time ago I admit) when I went to the one near the Showcase Cinema nr Batley which was expensive but inviting.

My son will only be 21 once, and although he was glad he didn't have the happy birthday music, he was disappointed with his meal. We paid the full tip for the waitress, because she gave good service.

Perhaps this is just this particular restaurant, but based on our experience this time we would not rush back to eat here again.

I absolutely love this place... Food is always cooked to perfection... We came for mother's day, myself my mum & my 2 children, all meals chosen were fab we left nothing on the plate!!! Our table servants were both lovely happy friendly the only thing that got mentioned as a negative was that it was quite noisy but I can appreciate there were a lot of chatting families so we understood this matter and cannot be helped! We love f&b xx
