Foundry Kitchen & Tavern
It's a one and done for us. Mediocre food, poor service. Rude greeting. Misrepresented wine list. Yeah...One and done.
We had such an amazing time. Loved the menu, even the kids menu had great, healthy options. It was our first visit, but we can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.
Love how many vegan/vegetarian choices are on the menu! We tried the vegan dumplings and they were really great! My husband (who is not a vegan) got the short rib and it was served with kimchi mac and cheese and he loved it. I got the vegan risotto--lots of colorful veggies included.
It is definitely lively, we sat in the main bar area. Cute décor. Service was attentive and caring.
Looking forward to returning and trying more vegan dishes.
Cute, rustic setting. Nice, varied food options. Prices moderate. The menu doesn't offer a "house salad", but our server was willing to accommodate this request for me. I ordered a special: Fettucine Alfredo with Chicken and Sun Dried Tomatoes. I found the chicken to be chewy and the entree over sauced. Could have been one bad chicken breast. Next time I would get the sauce on the side. I will try the restaurant again on another night.
Good brunch. Great bloody Mary’s too! It was loud because it is a small place and also there was live entertainment.
Food was delicious! I had shrimp and grits my wife had short ribs. For dessert we had chocolate mousse which was very good. Could have done without the white chocolate chips, but still good. Service was prompt. We sat upstairs and it was very quiet. I can't wait to go again! We did make reservations.
We always enjoy the Foundry, good food, decent service and live music. My only complaint was the buffalo shrimp appetizer came with 3 shrimp at a table of 4 people. Minor thing but for 17 bucks, I feel like it would have been nice to know!
Lovely spot in Sandy Hook with excellent food, service and ambience. Went with a group of friends and had a great time. Scallops with Risotto and Shrimp and Grits were superb. Local craft beer selections were also excellent (Kent Falls IPA and Two Roads). Live music as well. Will definitely return
Food, beverages and service are consistently of good quality. It’s a bit pricey for sure, so that’s why we can only go for special occasions.
