Casual
Founding Farmers Tysons is a farmer owned restaurant that offers fresh food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch with ingredients sourced from near and far, from sources we trust, in a modern farmhouse setting. The bar is not to be missed, offering delicious scratch sodas, craft cocktails, and an all Virginia draught beer list; we'll have just the thing to quench your thirst. Approximately 30% of the menu includes items inspired by the culinary traditions of Virginia in a modern way. Weekend brunch at Founding Farmers Tysons is BUFFET style, with a wide array of breakfast, lunch, salad, entree, and dessert options. The restaurant is upscale casual, which welcomes business casual dress, and dress that would be appropriate in a nice restaurant; this includes jeans and athletic wear, and warm-weather clothing, including shorts.

There’s a difference between dining and eating out. I’d put Founding Farmers Tysons in the same category as Applebee’s. On a Sunday night it was crowded, noisy and the food was so-so. I’ve had better dining experiences at the Founding Farmers in downtown DC

Awesome Sunday brunch. Our waiter wasn't very attentive but the food was fabulous and we had a wonderful time. Definitely would recommend it to anyone!

Food is good but not amazing or super special for the price of brunch. Service is attentive and the space is nicely done. Just not sure the cost is worth it here.

Sunday brunch was very good, excellent variety of hot and cold items and a great dessert selection.
Also, very reasonably priced and it comes with coffee, tea, or lemonade.

Even with a reservation, you end up waiting to be seated. When I made the reservation, I let them know it was a birthday celebration for 2 of my sons. Didn’t get mentioned at all through the meal or after. Food was good but not great. Service was slow, waited over 10 mins to get our drink order. The one dessert that the birthday boys wanted was sold out. Disappointing overall.

I would not recommend this location on a weekend for dinner. My prior experience was at lunch during the week.
Reservations for four at 6:30 and 7 pm were running ~20-30m behind. There is no where to wait but a jammed lobby.
Service between the bar and server was slow (+15m for a drink order) because the bar was busy and the bar staff apparently can't keep up.
The kitchen/running/server support is POOR. My husband's soup came out without a spoon, his prime rib came out without a steak knife. Feels like no one pays attention at a peak time and that reflects badly on the server (remember, he tips YOU out).
The prime rib was thin and overdone, the diner who ordered the Reuben was disappointed. The other dishes were good, but unfortunately didn't really offset the other disappointments.
Our server (Matthew) was very nice, but stretched because another server was out sick (a situation then aggravated by the fact that the food came out without the necessary silverware... )
The others in the party (this locations was my idea) have no desire to return. If i return it will only be at lunch, never for dinner.

This place gets good reviews from people who don’t eat out at good restaurants enough. Food is average at best. Even my salad greens tasted chemically and without favor. The best thing there is the iron skillet corn bread.

When a restaurant asks if you need salt and pepper, and the thought of changing the dish is disgraceful, you got a great one. This is Founding Fathers. Delightful, well thought out menu that my entire family enjoyed.

Very busy at Tysons, so we had to wait quite a bit for food to arrive and it was pretty noisy (that was expected knowing the place). Other than that everything was excellent - superb food, great service, very courteous staff. Thank you!

Had reservation and was seated quickly. Was slight delay with getting entrees but appreciated manager coming out to apologize for delay and giving us a complimentary appetizer of our choice. Food was great as expected from this restaurant. Will be back again soon.

We came for dessert. So amazing! We normally get carrot cake... which I highly recommend! Very moist, decadent cake which amazing cream cheese frosting. This time, we also got the tuxedo cake - a dark chocolate cake with chocolate ganache between the layers, then iced with a marshmallow fluff that they torch before the bring it to you. It is an amazing chocolate cake. And it is great with the vanilla ice cream they serve with it. To round out our dessert table we got a Jefferson donut, which was a coconut cream filled donut that was topped with chocolate icing and toasted coconut. And a lemon curd filled donut. The lemon curd was tart.... and perfect! If you are a lemon curd fan, I highly recommend this donut! You really can’t go wrong with any of their desserts!

Made a reservation for brunch, got there 10 minutes early and had to wait 20 past our reservation time with no updates from the hostess- the food is great, but there are cheaper and better brunches in the area.

I have dined at Founding Farmers numerous times and this experience all around was disappointing. Food was cold, over cooked and unappealing. We waited over 20 minutes for condiments and refills. The waiter was extremely nice, but the food was horrible and it was so loud you could barely enjoy a conversation with your dining companion. Think I will wait awhile before returning.

Our food and waitress were great! However we were early for our 7:30 reservation and were told it was going to be about 10 minutes. Not a big deal. However by 8:00 when we had not been seated yet that was when we were treated very rudely by the hostess for asking when our table would be ready. It was clear that the restaurant was piling too many reservations at once. The hostess was also pretty unapologetic and we watched her snap at a wait staffer/bus boy for trying to help her. Very upsetting that one member of the team could put such a sour taste in our mouths, however like I said the rest of the night went smoothly.

I normally love founding farmers but this visit was not enjoyable. It was packed and the food in the buffet was average. I normally love the fried chicken but it was super dry. I will definitely go back but never during brunch again.

Although the food is pretty good, the rest of the Founding Farmers brunch experience was disappointing, enough so that we will not return. Our table was not ready until a half hour after our reservation time. It took twenty minutes for drinks to arrive -- our waiter himself was quite diligent, but the bar was crazy slow. And it was very expensive for what we got. It's not the most expensive brunch out there, but quite pricey compared to the value of ingredients, especially when there is no a la carte option for people who are not huge eaters.

We were seated quickly and greeted by a number of people. Getting our drink order in took quite a while and then we were told the wine we wanted and a beer selection were both unavailable. This was quite disappointing as it was the beginning of Restaurant week. There didn't seem to be enough servers for the number of tables (all filled). Our food arrived lukewarm, at best. One person in our party had a hair in her baked potato. That was quickly taken away and replaced with a different option. No one from the restaurant came by to inquire/apologize for the situation. The meal charge was taken off the final bill but not noted by our server or anyone else. It was a bit of a disappointment all around.
