Italian food has been served at Forty Dean Street for more than 17 years, so we like to think there’s nothing we haven’t mastered. So pop in for an Aperol Spritz!

Pizza was more Papa John’s style than Italian, service was quick and very friendly staff.
We were able to sit outside. The staff were friendly & welcoming, but the service was slow and the food was average - we had to send one of our dishes back.
Lovely atmosphere and great food. Really good set up during these covid times
I lived in Italy for four years and acquired a discerning palate. The food here is fabulous! It reminds me of genuine Italian food in Italy.
Crunchy ciabatta with fresh chopped tomatoes, the red prawns sautéed in lobster sauce, the steamed mussels in white wine sauce; each plate is a delight.
The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
If this restaurant was in Mayfair, it could easily double its price list.
Most of us end up going to the same five restaurants in any city. This one is going on my core list!
Went here for my birthday. The staff were super friendly, sang happy bday, baked complementary brownie, overall delicious food And cosy restaurant. Highly recommend!
Great dog loving restaurant where dogs get treats and water and we had a lovely meal
We were 1 hour early, but we were still met with a warm smile even though nearly every table was taken.
All pasta dishes can be made gluten free which is great for me!
The food was proper Italian homemade food, surprised yes - we’ve not eaten Italian food in a restaurant as good as that in years ( we are Italian so hard to please)
The venue is small but intimate and easy to get to
Will def be going back again ( actually I can’t wait to go back)
Thank you to the staff and the chefs
Will definitely be going back! The lobster spaghetti was amazing.
Food was great, however service was really dissapointing. Was told when we arrived that there was another booking on our table 90 mins after us, so courses were rushed. When given the desert menu I asked if we could have a few mins to decide and was told there wasn't enough time. Our basket of bread was also taken from infront of us before we'd even finished. I understand the need to get through bookings in the current climate but feel it could have been handled much better.
Great find friendly staff and great value for the area
So incredibly welcoming. Attentive without being intrusive service. Made a real fuss of my dog which i felt was genuine. Had the balance right between relaxed friendliness and professionalism.
Staff knew their menu (rarity in UK). Plenty of vegetarian options.
Quality of food was superb in all dishes in all courses. Diverse and reasonably priceed wine menu.
Will be back and will continue telling all my friends about 40 Dean Street.
Lovely food and people. Could’ve done without the couple constantly snogging though why put them right in front of us? There was no-one else in there!
The staff were amazing and really friendly, the food was delicious, highly recommend the Lobster ravioli. The actual restaurant was very cosy and relaxed too. Definitely try it out!
Loved the cosy ambience of the place and wonderful service crew, attentive and friendly. Food came in great time. We had the beef and tomato ragu pappardelle which was cooked al dente and the beef was really tender and flavourful. We also tried the vongole pasta which had really fresh clams. Overall a great dining experience at Forty Dean Street!
Lovely atmosphere, food tastes amazing and did not take too long to arrive at table. Relatively good value fir price :)
Amazing food! And Great Service
Great meal and service. Staff were on had to assist with any queries and made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommended
Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Would highly recommend the lobster linguine and beef Ravi pappardelle.
Nice authentic Italian restaurant in the heart of Soho.
Lovely dog friendly restaurant with amazing food and wine list
We had a great night at Forty Dean Street. The food was amazing, as was the service. The waitress (the lady with purple and blonde hair) could not have been any nicer. She definitely made our meal an enjoyable experience.
As always 40 Dean Street was excellent.
The staff are lovely
The food is excellent
The location is great
The wine is fine
Forgot food, kept bringing the wrong food
Very unorganised! I have been many times but now will not be returning
The food was poor to average. Worse Ravioli I have had. My wife's pizza was sparse.
Great Italian in Soho! Loved everything about it - had a table outside, and just watched the world go by! I had the lobster ravioli in a seafood bisque, gorgeous. And half the price of some of the Italians considered more upscale and the quality is comparable! Definitely on my list for my next visit to London ❤️
Great food in a nice looking restaurant. The Muscles were amazing.
We have been there for dinner, but this occasion we had lunch. We wanted to try the set menu as we did not want too much as we were going out to dinner. The menu was ok, nothing to shout about. There was something for both of us so can't complain.
The restaurant was very busy but we still received very good service. We enjoyed the cocktails, and the food was delicious
Always best food and best service
Quality of food and presentation always exceeds expectation. It's my go to place for authentic Italian.
Sat outside for the first time and was disappointed as it was too close to traffic and also little social distancing guidelines observed as tables were place very close together.
Great experience overall
great lunch with the puppy. amazing food and wine
Amazing food and service, friendly staff, and great atmosphere.
We were able to sit outside and enjoy the lovely late summer weather. I ate the seabass with prawns on buttered spinach and sides of courgette chips and seasonal veg - it was absolutely delicious - fish perfectly cooked - the whole thing felt very indulgent, which is what I wanted! Desserts not too large but equally lovely. Service very good - not obtrusive but friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine. Will definitely come back.
Great food, lovely surroundings, excellent service. We'll recommended.
Very welcoming. Service was outstanding. Food really good.
The food was okay, seafood linguine wasn’t what I would usually expect as they had actual pieces of fish mixed in as opposed to just prawns, squid etc. The garlic bread was decent
Nice lunch but it works have been nice to sit outside as no atmosphere inside
Very good food! Carpaccio was amazing
Combination of the usual traditional Italian fare and some unusual originals. Beetroot and goats cheese arancini for example. Sea bass with prawns highly recommended. Located in the heart of Soho with additional tables outside (at least for now) Great for people watching. Friendly staff. Effective distancing whilst still managing to keep a lively ambience. I’ll be back
