Review summary

Forge offers a delightful dining experience with standout dishes like "amazing stuffed shrimp" and "phenomenal roasted red pepper cream of crab." The service is consistently praised as "great" and "attentive," while the menu boasts southern influences and local seafood. However, some may find the casual atmosphere at odds with the fine-dining prices.

First time eating here. Food was excellent. I had to filet mignon and my wife had the catfish. Both were delicious. Id say the filet was the most tender steak ive ever had. Cocktails were equally tasty. If you haven't tried this place you are missing out on a great meal.

Great menu! HIGHLY recommend the crab bisque..so good! My wife had the shrimp and grits…not much to take home. I got the brisket…very good but the sauce was a little off for me. The carrot cake was outstanding. Amazing looking brunch menu that we want to try. Service was great! We will be back!

We dined there last evening for the first time for dinner, we had gone once before for brunch and had the same bad experience so we thought let’s try dinner this time. My husband and I were the only ones there when we arrived, our server gave recommendations and told us the specials. My husband ordered the in house smoked brisket that came with Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. I ordered the Rasta Pasta and added crab per server recommendation. When our food came out, my husband notice his had a white sauce on his brisket and mashed potatoes, he did not pay attention to the description when ordering and asked the server what the sauce was and was told horseradish sauce. He admitted he didn’t pay attention to that detail when ordering and the server offered to take it back and have them “cook it off”. We told them no we would just exchange meals as I love horseradish. We swapped meals, the brisket looked more like pot roast and was very fatty, it was not smoked and cold. The mashed potatoes and Brussels were cold too. The Rasta pasta hardly had any crab and did not look like typical Rasta pasta. The nutmeg flavor was overpowering, hardly any sauce, pasta tasted like old pasta that had been refrigerated and heated up. We both barely ate our dinner, we looked at each other and even said we were both still hungry. Are server came over and noticed our plates and asked if we wanted boxes to which we said NO! We told her how we felt about the meal, she even agreed that my brisket was all fat. She said she would let the chefs know and took our plates to the back. As we sat there waiting for our check one of the chefs came out and started socializing with a patron sitting at the bar, I thought he was coming to talk to us about our meal but nope he went to socialize with another patron. Our server came back with our bill and apologized that we did not like it. back. We paid our $88 dollar bill plus %18 tip left and went and got Wing Stop because we were starving!

We went here for brunch and the service and food were great. Service was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and came out hot. People in our party ordered the crepes, shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles. Highly recommend this restaurant.

From the website, we thought the atmosphere would be more upscale but it was definitely more of a casual looking restaurant with a bar in the middle (and a dressed skeleton at a table). The menu offerings were more upscale and we even had to google some items because we weren’t familiar with a term! Lol Our orders came out quickly and were presented beautifully. The prices seemed steep for the atmosphere, but the food tasted great. Our appetizer was crab stuffed shrimp for $20. There were 4 on the plate and they were awesome. The waitstaff was friendly and very responsive.

Forge was a pleasant surprise. Located in a nondescript, unassuming location, this restaurant is a gem and a "must try" if you are ever in the North East, MD area. The menu has southern influence but incorporates local seafood as well. There was nothing that disappointed. The cocktails were superb. Our daughter and her husband shared the Brisket sliders for appetizer. My wife and I split a bowl of Roasted Red Pepper Cream of Crab; it was phenomenal. For entrees, the table had Crab Cakes (some of the best we've tasted); Lemon Pepper Catfish (great!); Fried Pork Chop dinner with a mushroom gravy (sublime) and a sweet potato hash; and the "Into the Aibis" which is red snapper filet with clams in a broth. Really exceptional. It was our daughter's birthday, so she and hubby had the Key Lime Pie and Carrot cake. Everything was fresh and house prepared with care and precision. The entree prices are reasonable in today's market, and you can get by with $30 - $40 per person without all the extras. The food is worth your time and expense. I stumbled upon this place searching for a meeting point for daughter (in NJ) and us coming from WV. I will be back when I'm in the area.
