Alcatra / Top Sirloin
Alcatra is a special cut of top sirloin originating in the steakhouses of southern brazil. One of the largest cuts served in our dining rooms, you shouldn't miss a sample of this perfectly seasoned, thinly carved cut.
By far our most popular dessert in both brazil and the united states, fresh papaya is blended with vanilla ice cream and topped with a black currant liqueur.
First day of opening restaurants was bound to have some glitches. The place was beautiful, ambience still lovely, service still engaging, friendly, and polite. But I had to ask for the beans and rice four times before someone finally brought it as they said they would. The filet mignon technically only made it to our table twice, and the second time was when we were clearly done eating, my plate already gone and my dining partner's plate pushed to the side to be taken away. I'll always wish there was at least one hot green/nutritious vegetable option, but this, of course, is not why we come to Fogo. The meats were outstanding as usual. I really liked the addition of dragonfruit to the salad bar, but I'd LOVE it if there was also mango. I'd also suggest readding the red/green table cards. That way there less chance of meat contamination, because gauchos won't come to our table unnecessarily and can keep distance more often. We felt bad that they would have to get so close, and tried to shake our heads no so as not to breathe out over the meats and salads. Perhaps a sign attached to the top of the skewer or a wristband on the gaucho's cutting hand saying what the meat is, instead of having to lean in close to people to describe/ask? Still a great value, great place to go for great food and phenomenally friendly service.,
They changed their lamb chops to much smaller versions with noticeably less meat. Gauchos were much slower to respond to the "green" chip.
Friends were in from out of town. We’d been meaning to go to Fogo together for many years. I’d been there about 20 years ago.
The Market Table is outstanding. So many flavors to sample. But be careful. Leave room for the meat! Try them all. Ask for a small slice if you’re unsure. If you don’t fancy it, say no the next time it comes around. Don’t eat too fast. Leave time to spy all the different meats cycling through the dining room. You don’t want to fill up and THEN realize there are sausages and chicken.
Speaking of chicken, the legs were quite dried out.
This is not the place for intimate conversation. You’re frequently interrupted by the servers visiting the table in mid-sentence.
Let’s start. First I thought it would be a nice experience because it’s a Brazilian steakhouse. The first time they served us more blood landed on my sweater than the plate, I asked for a well done cut of beef, that did not happen the entire 2 hours I was there. The sides were cold and suppose to be warm. The attention was horrible, the waiter didn’t even bother to ask us anything. The cut of steaks were NOT good, greasy and salty. DO NOT come to this restaurant. McDonald’s it’s a much nicer experience. We also asked for a bottle of wine; they brought us another one. Absolutely horrible experience and never coming back to this place. I tip $1.00 and I am not sorry I did. There you go! Enjoy!
Our team strives to deliver wonderful experiences to every guest, so we are disappointed to hear we fell short. We hope you will award us another chance down the line.
We are customers since a couple of years now and the great food and service never changed. Always excellent!
My mom’s 17th (aka 68th) Birthday.
I have ate at multiple Brazilian steakhouses throughout the country but this one by far is the best! My son came home from the military for leave and I wanted to take him out for a nice dinner. The hostess asked if it was a special occasion and I briefly explained the situation. The manager, Carlos Cuevas, went above and beyond to make this such an enjoyable night. He checked in on us on several occasions to ask if we wanted any particular cut of meat and temperature. The staff was so friendly and super attentive. The food was divine. Mr. Cuevas even brought my son out a desert and thanked him for his services. It was a perfect dining experience. Great staff!!! Thank you Mr. Cuevas for making this a truly memorable experience beyond just a dinner A++++++
This place is AMAZING! 11/10 recommend. I will return.
Took my parents for them to try for the first time. They were very very happy. Loved the food and they couldn’t stop talking about how great the service was.
Horrible service. Our server totally forgot about us, despite passing by our table many times. Bread was very bland, bananas were dry. The floor managers walking away as you ask a simple question. Never again will we be going there.
Had a great time with my friends as we celebrated my birthday!
It was such an amazing time I would love to go back
Good but could be better.
Serviceable experience, but the level of attentiveness of the service and the atmosphere were not in keeping with the cost of the meal.
The whole staff was wonderful and all of the food was delicious.
I have been to many branches of Fogo de Chao both in the US and in Brasil.
I had high expectations of this particular branch, especially because I thought , being located in Chicago , which is known for great meat nationwide , it would feature top quality and delicious meat .
Unfortunately , my expectations were not met : some of the churrasco gaucho servers were not very competent at carving the cuts .
Even though I made it a point to ask for rare cuts , the meat was burned ,but not sizzling .
Something was missing for sure .
It was not bad but it definitely was not great neither was it memorable .
Very nice dinner- meats were delicious
We love Fogo de Chão it's one of our favorite spots and tonight we were there to celebrate my Birthday we had another options to go to another places but I preferred fogo but unfortunately wasn't our best time there we had a really bad experience ,, We could understand if they were busy but cmon it wasn't , the restaurant was almost empty but THANKS to EFRAIN our night was much better he was 100% with us every time that we need or looking for something or for any specific cut of meat was there
I didn't even need to ask for our server ,, really good guy THANK YOU EFRAIN !!
Very loud and busy. I think they could spread tables out and make it more of a spot to go rather then so many people crowded feeling like a buffet.
Normally in the past the service was great but at lunch time. I went for dinner, and the service was very slow. Betwwen meat selection I timed it. 8-10 mins apart. I'm going to give fogo the benefit of the doubt because I had other great service. I'll go back again.
Scamm ALERT!!Check your bill at this place they overcharged and I had to call them on it. They charged me for a shrimp cocktail which is over $20 that I didn't purchase very deceptive (FRAUD)practice.
Carlos was a fantastic server and the floor managers were so accommodating and outgoing! Thank you for making our 25 anniversary wonderful!
Great food. Didn’t like sitting in back. Don’t feel like we got all options. Seen. Didn’t things when leaving.
Worst visit ever. All meat was burnt. We barely had a gaucho at our table. Waited 15 minuts for bread, had to ask four times. Left restaurant hungry.
Organization was terrible, I was waiting for my table almost 45 min
Valentine’s Day enough said
I made reservations 2 weeks before Valentine’s Day, after 55min after the reservation time , they sat us in a corner where no one came or served us, a manager had to tell the guys to come I also heard a lot of people complaining I will never come here again zed 451 is a lot better
I liked my seating it was perfect.
Didn’t even get seated. It was a mess from the start. Why take reservations when you can’t even accommodate them?
Food was overly salted. And chicken not cooked right. Horrible and had to wait even that I had reservations.
I understand it was Valentine’s Day but we barely had Servers offering my partner and I any food
We were on time for our reservation but had to wait almost an hour to be seated. We waited 30-45 minutes between each carving for a few scraps of unseasoned meat. We asked our waitress, others carvers, a manager, and other staff to send send them our way and it wasn't until we asked for the check and complained about the service that our needs seemed important. Needless to say we left starving and had to settle for fast food in Valentine's Day.
Filet mignon was amazing. Make sure you tell them how you like your meat cooked so that they can cut off the correct piece for you. Do not skip the market table. Cheeses fruits and veggies are great.
It was somewhat loud and the drinks took way too long to come out. It could’ve been just because it was so busy.
Loved it, was our first tine. The staff was attentive even the managers. The food was excellent. We will definitely be back. Made our valentines dinner awesome.
The best Keto restaurants in America.
Food was delicious! Our server wasnt around, tried to over charge us, had to keep reprinting
going on Valentine's day was not great. So busy, meats were not as good as a regular day.
We love Fogo but going on Valentine's day was the wrong choice. The quality service that is usually given was not because it was overly crowded. If you have a bad table spot like we did, the meats will run out by the time they would have reached your table. Took 10-15 on drink refills and had to stop waiters for requests rather than being checked in on. They also "forgot" to distribute the complimentary gift cards, unless you request it. Definitely going back, just avoid holiday weekends.
Great , sent back bottled spring water, did not order it.
