A very average experience. While the view of the harbour and bridge is nice, the restaurant feels tired and in need of a refurbishment. Chairs were frayed and grubby. Bathroom facilities were not in good shape. Service was poor and inexperienced. Food was tolerable but for the price was inadequate.
Exceptional food and views. The small number of tables meant fantastic service and a calm quiet atmosphere. Having the open fire on our back and the harbor bridge as our view was the icing on a very delicious cake. It's by no means cheap, but out of all the top restaurants I've been to in Sydney, this sits far above the rest.
Food was great and service was exceptional. Our server noticed the champagne bottle we had given a friend due to a new career and the server took it upon herself to to send out a dessert plate that said "Congratulations!" Very nice gesture and we were all pleasantly surprised.
Amazing day catered to our every need
The service was extremely poor.
Simply astonishing entrees and mains.Desserts were clever and interesting, but the flavours were a little strange. Well worth it for the first two courses. Go for the cheese instead - brilliant produce.
Best meal for lunch 5 hours. Had a ball
Food was lovely, I was really impressed with what I got for entree and main, dessert wasn't the greatest as I felt the poached pairs had too much chocolate accompanying them. Service was a bit slow at times and there was a piece of chewing gum stuck under the left armrest of my chair which I did not appreciate.
Location and ambience lovely. The courses were a bit rushed as we were the early session and needed to be out for the 8.30 seating. Food was nice however expected a bit more of a wow.

Great special treat
Lovely food, menu was western fusion with a Sri Lankan twist. The service and ambiance was super and the views of the harbour bridge were amazing as well.The staff went out of their way to cater to my dietary requirements Prices not too high my Sydney standards.

We booked this restaurant for Good Friday as a special treat to celebrate Easter. My husband and I dined with our 17 yr old son. The food was amazing and the special care each dish received before it came out was spectacular. The food tasted so beautiful, I seriously can't wait to go back there again. Every mouthful of every dish was to die for. The taste and textures and the presentation was impeccable.

I chose Flying Fish from a recommendation for my husband's special birthday lunch with family and it was everything I wished for and more! The location, view and ambience was delightful. The service and staff throughout our stay was attentive and efficient without being obvious. Every dish we ordered was superb with beautiful fresh produce and tantalising flavours.Our surroundings were relaxed, stylish and I was especially relieved to find the restaurant not noisy even though it was busy.
Excellent restuarant and venue
The best seafood restaurant i have ever been to. The food was divine and the service was exceptional.
We chose the Tasting Menu with matching beverages which was a great choice as we got to try things we might not have chosen and everything was excellent. Particularly enjoyed chatting with both the wine waiter (who explained all the wines etc) and waiter. We spent a leisurely two hours enjoying the meal and the view.
We very much enjoyed the degustation menu. The ambiance, location and friendly staff made the whole dining experience fantastic.
Outstanding in all areas
The front of house moved us up to a spot by the window upstairs after concluding we were there for a special occasion.

As usual our experience at Flying Fish was outstanding. The staff always go out of their way to make sure we are well looked after and have the most relaxing, enjoyable dining experience possible. The food of course is always amazing - we're always excited to see what the new menu brings. Thanks to the whole team for making our day so special.
Average restaurant with a water front position, but not necessarily water views for all diners. Good space between tables for intimacy & privacy. It is overpriced by about $10 per course but I doubt rent is cheap here. An average experience but I wouldn't rush to rebook in a hurry. Skipped desert altogether due to feeling letdown by the first 2 courses.
Great venue. Some dishes were exceptional and others good/ok - but when you pay so much, you hope that every dish will be exceptional
1st visit (Valentines Day for lunch) and will definitely be back. Food was great, service spot on with wonderful waterfront views over the harbour.Tuna Sashimi and Barramundi with coconut rice was to die for. We shared tasting plate for desert and it was also great.
It's a good restaurant but they certainly know how to extract top dollar for special occasions. We booked a dinner for valentines day, and as there were multiple sittings that evening the 3 course set menu was $340 ($170ea), add on 2 champagnes and 2 glasses of wine and it was an additional $85, throw in a $15 tip, and that's $220 per person. The food was good, but not great. It was a set menu with a choice of 3 entrees, 3 mains and 3 desserts.

The only things better than the food were the views and the service. As Molly would say, "do yourself a favour..."
From booking to end, it was completely outstanding. I would like to firstly mention our waiter, Francis, he is a credit to the restaurant. His service was excellent and made the whole dining experience memorable. The food was just as good as the service! Just amazing!It was the staff, food and the atmosphere that made the experience one to remember and tell our friends and family about.Will definitely dine here again. Thank you!
The food was really special, it is a must for seafood lovers. The staff were relaxed yet professional.
