Floral by Lima
Under the keen eye of Virgilio Martinez (Executive Chef and ranked #5 in the World 50 Best List and #1 in in Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants list) and Robert Ortiz, the same high standards apply and customers and critics alike have been equally lavish with praise. Amongst these we are pleased to have been awarded two AA Rosettes and a 5-Star review from Time Out.
The dressing of the food was not even. The ambience was ok as it was very busy and the layout does not give privacy.
I love this place. The food, the service and the Pervian beer 10/10
Soon as we entered the restaurant there was an unpleasant smell Which my friend and I both know – she described as musty where as I thought it was coming from the lavatory area. My dish of prawns in a was so salty I couldn’t eat it-I Hesitated to send it back and then cleaned up the prawns and it those. The rest of the food was very mediocre. Not far off £20 for a main which needed vegetables which one paid on top. Did gently complain to the waitress about the level of salt and she could see I hadn’t eaten most of the meal and she was very sweet and apologetic for the full bill.
We had a really lovely meal. Food you know and love but cooked with a twist. It was early afternoon so not much atmosphere as not very busy.
Having never had Peruvian food before, and with a recommendation by friends, off to Covent Garden we went. The food, tastes, service and ambience were all outstanding. The small dishes were great to share amongst the four of us and the mains were easily divided so that we could try a bit of everything. We asked the server to just bring us a variety of dishes to try rather than having us order individually. The flavours of each dish were fantastic. Each dish was prepared to highlight the flavours. And each dish was outstanding. The drinks were also super. The Evita is a champage and passionfruit cocktail - super tasty. More than a few Pisco Sours were enjoyed by our companions... Definitely recommend and we will definitely be back!
Small tapas style portions to share mean the diner can try a good variety of dishes . Food was beautifully presented . Flavours were varied and much more subtle than expected.
Went with a foodie friend to check out restaurant because I liked Lima . Planning to organize a dinner for my university Alumni soon.
We chose the 3 course lunch set menu.
Starters Duck Tiradito was well cooked With Japanese salsa , hint of yuzu , love the purple potato crisp light and elegantly presented . The quinoa was interesting with avocado but it needs more texture otherwise it’s too much like baby food.
I like my choice of sea bass but regretted not choosing the raw cerviche which is Lima’s forte. Though the warm sauce tiger milk was flavourful . The pork belly was good but lacked the wow factor . Needed something crunchy to lift it in terms of texture ..
My guest loves the rice pudding because of the mix of vanilla fragrance and not overly sweet . Pans cotta was as expected but would have like a stronger mango punch ..
Good ambience , attentive staff . Noise level was conducive to chatting and catching up with visiting friend.
The portions were fine for ladies who lunch but not sure if guys would find them a little too small.
Good place to have quality food with a colour touch!
Excellent, interesting food. The evening got off to a shaky start where we were left standing in the door, waiting to be seated for quite some time. Once seated we then waited some time more for someone to take our order. Once the food came however, it was excellent.
It was my first time at Lima restaurant. Food was amazing, friendly staff , nice place to have dinner on Saturday evening . Just recommended to book a table . Looks always busy place.
Incredibly noisy even on a Wednesday. The dishes are very very small, the ceviche was just about acceptable, almost nothing else than fish in there ...not a real ceviche peruano at all....in sum, i wouldnt recommend it. The pisco sour was very acidic and bitter, badly mixed...
Very nice Peruvian food, with excellent seafood and vegetarian options. Perfect for sharing and trying a panoply of flavours. The service was very friendly and the ambiance is very low key and relaxed. Great value for money.
very good option for sunday brunch
We are tourists from
New York and loved the restaurant! Yummy food!
I went for Saturday brunch. great cost benefit with tasty food. Definitely go back and recommend it.
The food is lovely, it can feel quite cramped busy and loud. The flavours are really interesting and it’s not something I could easily produce at home so it’s great for trying new tastes, but not for a romantic dinner.
Great with friends to share plates and pisco sours. We tried a Peruvian Malbec which was delicious
Ends up quite pricy because of the sharing concept, and some dishes don't really seem suited to sharing. Most of the food was excellent. Need to work on their Pisco Sours though!!
A very good restaurant in terms of food; service tend to become a bit distracted when it gets busy. The real downside is the noise... when the restaurant is full (and the music is on, with a volume higher than needed) the noise, because of the terrible acoustic (at least in the main room) makes it really hard to have a normal conversation (and people start to shout and the noise...). It really needs a bit of soundproofing to be a pleasant place where to share an evening with friends.
Food was really nice and having several smaller dishes to share really suited us. Dishes were definitely different to average fair and worth experiencing.
Not bad price given food quality. Staff were great and helpful.
Food was excellent as always. Staff was way overwhelmed – the manager said upon leaving that "everyone came at the same time", so service was kinda slow and haphazard. But still, it's a great restaruant that I highly recommend!
Very expensive for the value I got. I paid £8 for one small alfajor (which was advertised as "alfajores"). There are other Peruvian restaurants which offer much better value and quality for the price I pay. Not impressed at all.
I went to Floral by Lila with my partner and some friends. As soon as you walk in the bright colours of the walls and the plants everywhere make you think that you have been transported to Peru! The staff is very friendly and gave us recommendations on which plates to order. Menu is a bit misleading as it is recommended to order 3-4 dishes per person but we ordered two per person and it was enough.
Everything was delicious (specially the Chinese cauliflower, the quinoa salad and the King prawns and calamari) except for the smoked chicken causa, which had a strange flavor that I was not fond of.
Prices are a bit high for the size of the dishes but the quality of the food and the lively atmosphere make Floral worthy
Interesting and tasty menu and all very well priced. Service was very good but maybe flattered by the lack of other diners which detracted slightly from the overall ambience.
Limited wine choice but focus on regional South American producers made for an interesting list.
We had the Lima set menu which gave us a range of delicious, imaginative and unusual flavours. We accompanied the food with fantastic Pisco Sours. Definitely looking forward to our next visit.
Great food, but service wasn’t great.
Portions were very small and expensive for what they were!
It was a quiet Monday night, so it wasn’t buzzing, but the restaurant is colourful and the food was great. The service was really great when you got someone’s attention but that was harder work than it should be. We had a fun evening.
We had the bottomless prosecco brunch, which was delicious, with a good variety of dishes. The prosecco refills needed some prompting initially, but 90 minutes is in all an adequate time to eat and drink. Lovley place, would recommend it!!
Great food. Had to insist to get 3 course meal- glad we did. Service polite but did not do justice to quality of meal itself
Poor service - managers really are driving the poor culture across the staff. Shame as some staff are great
Food was fine, Main portions were too small. flavours were generally okay a bit bland. Empahandas were the best thing we tried. Pisco sours were good. Our main waiter was polite and helpful. But other wait/serving staff were less so.
We had planned an early evening meal, but given the prices, portion sizes and so-so service we decided to call it pre-dinner drinks and snacks before heading elsewhere.
The sea bream ceviche was lovely, beautifully cured in ginger 'tiger's milk' with an added crunch of (I think) cancha corn. There just wasn't enough of it for the £9 price tag. Empanadas were only just warm and a little soggy. Yucca chips could also have been hotter, and definitely needed the cheesy, but quite bland, Huancaina sauce to counteract the slightly cardboard texture.
Having spotted the micro-mains being served to nearby tables, we decided to cut our losses and eat elsewhere.
On the plus side, the pisco sour was delicious
Truly spectacular food I'll definitely return. Definitely try the seared tuna just wow what an adventure for your taste buds.
We ordered the bread (something I'd never usually get) because of all the reviews talking about it and was shocked how good it was. Some of the best bread I've ever had plus you need it to mop up all the deliciousness from the ceviche dressings.
Very nice interesting food - with great set menu
We ate at Flora Lima and were pleasantly surprised by the new tapas like menu. The recommendation for 2-3 small plates and one large plate per person was quite accurate.
We had a lovely sea bream ceviche, a Duck tiradito, octopus and a delicious cauliflower dish, as our standout favorites. Dinner, with wine came to approximately £50 a person, with taxes and service included.
We would definitely recommend Flora
We went as a group of three and was seated in a corner that had enough space for two people. Thankfully when asked, the waitress extended our table. Unfortunately a private event took over most of the restaurant (which was not in a private room) which meant it was too noisy especially as the private event was broadcasting videos and had use of microphones.
We had the Lima menu which was great to sample the various dishes. However we were disappointed to be presented with a plate of two panna cottas and another plate containing a scoop of mousse. These were to be shared between three people! This may have been fine if there were two of us but for three people it was just too awkward....
Absolutely delicious food, really unusual and beautifully presented. Clearly a popular place - and our second visit. We’ll be back!
Great place delicious food , friendly and super efficient and helpful staff and very knowledgeable about all the food. Only point ( hardly a criticism) but food came very quickly , but was very fresh and delicious. I think we had barely ordered and it was there ! I would have liked a few minutes to relax , get comfy and have a drink first but it was Friday night and busy for them.
Food was amazing but stuff was of really poor quality compared to the food. E.g. could not even advise what kind of wine was best for the food served and could not give a clear description of each plates served
Outstanding food, with an excellent pre-theatre menu.
