Good food, friendly service, COVID-safe. And great spot for people-watching!
We had atleast 3 people from the kitchen attempt to give us food that was not ours. Overall, the food was good. Beer selection was good. Need a little more organization in the kitchen.
They are operating under difficult conditions, but everyone went out of their way to be helpful. The staff were super nice.
Great place to grab a burger and support the neighborhood!
Overall, our experience was pretty good. The only issue we had was the wait time for our food. It seemed like we was waiting forever for the food to come out after ordering our appetizer and main course together. It wasn’t super busy, so I can’t believe the wait time was for that. Besides that, everything else was great.
Moral of this post, if you are really hungry, make sure you have a lite snack before going here. The food is great, but the wait time for the food is not.
I would never dine here again. We had the worst service and the food quality was poor. Our experience started out with 2 drinks and an order of the brussel sprouts. We then ordered entries (a burger and caprese chicken sandwhich).
The burger came out correctly, although the presentation was poor - a mcdonald’s cheese burger would have looked better. The caprese chicken sandwich came out as a caprese chicken platter? After waiting 10 minutes for our waitress to come back around, I was able to ask her for what I ordered, the chicken sandwich. She said she would fix it & 15 minutes later was still chatting with the booth in front of us. After her conversation, she came back and asked if my meal has been fixed (clearly not as I did not have a sandwich and the platter was on the corner of the table). she finally took the platter away and we waited for another 15 minutes before I brought 1 of the cold chicken pieces that were on the platter on a cold hard bun. fine - well played. We then asked for the check and saw that we were charged for the caprse chicken platter & not the chicken sandwich. We informed the waitress and she went to fix it. She brought back the corrected bill, we put our card in, and she took it. She brought the receipt book back & and we thought finally we can leave. Then she COMES BACK and takes the credit card book again and starts to charge us A SECOND TIME. We run up to her and say - we’ve already paid - why are you charging us again? She was “confused” and walked away to get her manager. After waiting some time, she just dropped of the receipt book and walked away. She then started watching our table and pacing. We tipped and left. I cannot believe that we received such horrible service. At no point in this entire disaster dinner did a manger come around to ask how things were, nothing was offered while I had to wait 20+ minutes for the meal I ordered after I received the wrong meal, and no manager came to address the payment issue. Stay away!!!!!
The service was terrible. The bar didn’t get our drinks out at the same time. Food order was incomplete. We’ve been here before and never had a bad experience like this. We don’t recommend the place and won’t return any time soon.
I’ve been here many times, it’s one of my favorite places in hampden. Our server, Caleb, was very friendly and accommodating. My only complaint was that my salad was missing two main ingredients that was listed on the menu because the kitchen was out. It would have been nice to know this when ordering. Our server did his best to correct the issue. Great beer selection, but sold out of quite a few things on the night we visited.
If you are coming here for a drink and a snack, this place is great. It has a huge selection of great beer and fun mixed drinks, and a very extensive menu. If you are coming for dinner or are looking for food variety during your visit, you may be disappointed by the fact that a lot of the food tastes exactly the same. We got 5 different appetizers and two main dishes and they used the exact same sauce on four of the items. Their dessert menu is very impoverished. Many of their mixed drinks are seriously overpriced -- one prosecco drink was only about 4 ounces and cost $13; I can buy a whole bottle of the same prosecco for $19 or less.
Terrible service. Out of selected alcoholic beverages. Server didn’t remember specifics. All three food orders came out incorrectly. Asked to split the bill in three and each portion was different.
We went on a Thursday night and a couple of menu items were unavailable.
Great for lunch, happy hour and dinner. Great service always and food comes out quickly.
Casual lunch with friend. Promptly seated and greeted by friendly server. Good food and excellent service.
Not sure if they were hungover but, the restaurant smelled like a swimming pool. Even with the smell of bleach in the air, the tables were dirty. Food was cold when it arrived and I really blame the server. She was way too interested in talking with co workers then taking care of customers. Was really disappointed because I have been wanting to try this place for a long time.
The atmosphere is bustling.. we can in on New Years Eve at 5pm.... while it was a quaint neighborhood pub.. great for a Happy Hour.. or friends get together.. I would not recommend it if you are looking for a place where you would like it to be quiet.... Our server was nice.. she was the only one that I saw waiting on tables...
Service was horrible and unapologetic.
We are at Five and Dime before heading over to see the lights on 34th street. Us and everyone else lol. The restaurant was very crowded but our server Lindsay did her best to check on us frequently.
I love the Five & Dime. The food is always outstanding with a nice twist to classic menu choices. Our server, Caleb, was outstanding. For a very busy Sunday, Caleb service was on point. Everything came out perfectly.
Arrived 5 minutes before our reservation which included a request for a table showing two different football games. Hostess showed us to a table with a view of only one game. As we were discussing options with the hostess for other tables we saw people leaving a table where we could see both games. Hostess said we would need to wait until the table was cleared. This was at 1:15. The table wasn't cleared and we weren't seated until 1:40 even though one of our party was noticeably pregnant. Our server, Caleb, was nice, but very slow and inattentive. He forgot multiple things we requested and would disappeared for 20 minutes at a time in between getting our drinks or other things we requested. Would bring something and forget to ask if anyone needed anything. We were told after long delays that three things we had ordered were not available. Some things we ordered never showed up. The food isn't bad and the atmosphere is good for game days, but these place seems chronically understaffed and unprepared for any size crowd.
We had fried pickles which were delicious, and I had a burger that was one of the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot of burgers in my life!). Very nice service and comfortable ambience. Very good experience! Thank you.
This is a great space to enjoy a meal with family and friends.
Lunch with friend. Friendly greeting and seating. Monday was Burger Day and we both had tasty burgers. Good service.
Service was the main challenge for the evening. Waitress appeared more interested in conversing with her peers rather than the customers. Food was good and overall ambiance was great.
Came here to celebrate my brother’s 30th birthday. Food was good but it took an hour to receive our entrees. Our server never gave us an update about our order. I had to finally come up to him at the counter to see what was going on. The manager came to our table and acknowledged the service being unacceptable and took care of our bill. I’m usually not the type to write negative reviews but I believe issues need to be addressed so they can get fixed. Hopefully the staff will do better.
Quick mid-week lunch. Promptly seated and then greeted by server. Ordered salad as starter—arrived with my entree. After main course delivered had to track down server for check. Food was tasty. Friendly server.
This was the first time I was at this restaurant and really enjoyed it. I took a friend for her birthday and we split two entrees. The first was Korean tacos which were very good but a bit spicy. The other was an eggs Benedict over fried green tomatoes with crab meat. We both really loved this dish. With our food, we each had a pint of Oliver's beer which we also liked. I did tell them that it was my friend's birthday and I assumed they would do something for it but they did not. Still, we would return.
Really bad inattentive service
I have been to this restaurant multiple times in the past few years. I have enjoyed the food per usual and I enjoyed the environment and music. But our waiter you could see how he treated us so different just because we didn’t order bottomless mimosas. The table next to ours he came by multiple times and was very attentive but he was so forgetful at our table. But besides this one experience I have enjoyed my time at this restaurant
I've visited Five & Dime on many occasions as I live in Roland Park. But this reservation was one of my very best. I suggested this location as ten friends and I met to break bread, drink and have a sort of reunion. These friends haven't seen each other in over 10 years. We ate, drank and had a blast reminiscing about our years of friendship. I asked for the service of Lindsey, and as usual, she was wonderful and accommodated us greatly. The night was such a great time. Thank You !!!
It has a great bloody Mary bar on Sundays
Food and drinks were good as always.
Our server disappeared for long stretches, and had to be waved down for more drinks and the check.
She also didn't bring back the change from the cash payment of the bill--she just assumed that an over 20% tip was in line for her marginal service.
Service was really spotty. It wasn’t packed even for a Friday night so no clue why service was weak
While at dinnertime Five & Dime is buzzing, lunch is quiet. My colleague and I had a lovely lunch in one of their comfy booths. The service was friendly and humorous (always a good thing), and our lunches were delicious. I enjoyed the shrimp tacos - the shrimp were coated and fried to perfection, and the sauces couldn't have been better. My friend enjoyed the Cobb Salad and remarked that it was tasty and filling.
Will definitely be back!
Best burger joint in northern Baltimore. The premises are spectacular. Service a bit rookie but friendly.
One of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore! The food is great, and the service attentive and friendly.
Food was nothing special. Onion Soup was pathetic portion.
First time here. Ordered a salad to split with my wife, and a BOWL of chili. CUP of chili arrived - sent it back. Bowl came out a few minutes later, and temperature was true to name - cold. Got up, found the waitress, asked her to heat it up. Entrees arrived, including salad. On second bite, wife retrieved a 5-inch long piece of green plastic from the top of a chopped greens bag. Once waitress reappeared we pointed this out and asked to see the manager. Manager was very apologetic. Food in general for all 4 of us was not remarkable. They comped our salad and chili - but that isn't the point. Restaurant was not busy and they couldn't get it right. What happens when they're busy? Won't be going back.
Our first visit.. we enjoyed ourselves and our burgers. Will be back.
No hostess and the main restaurant seemed light on staff but we were told to grab a table. It took a while before we were noticed but once our waiter came to our table he was attentive and took care of us, including the details of one party’s meat, cheese and bun only 901 burger order which was delicious. My pasta primavera was also very good as was the second “regular” 901 burger. No appetizers this time but they’ve been good in the past. They were out of a few of our beer picks but it was Sunday evening. All in all another good meal there.
Service was horrible. We never saw the waitress or could find her. We asked for a box and it took 20 minutes to bring it to us. Not coming back for a long time
