Fishworks - Covent Garden
Staff were amazing! And the food was fabulous, with a great wine recommendation. Will definitely be back :)
The food was served was cold. There was no seasoning for the prawn starter I had. The fried fish I had was soggy and not cod as I thought and chips were OK but not enough.
The worst thing was the ladies toilets, it was dirty, toilets were leaking and someone left a plastic box to cover the leak and very smelly and if I had to sit downstairs next to the toilets, it would have been horrendous! At least, I expected the managers of restaurants to check these out as part of their management!!
When we came to pay the bill, we were overcharged for food that we did not order, there was no real apology of the error made.
Small portions. Good service. Fish and chips were nice! Other dishes were ok.
Yummy food! Great service at a great price! Recommend the pre threatre meal x
We ordered the prawns for starters which were extremely small portion and the prawns were like warm... then we ordered the Dover sole which again was like warm and not the greatest considering we paid an arm and a leg for it. The service was slow. Was disappointed. We just felt it was very average for what we paid.
This was a great place for a pre-theatre meal. Was priced just right and food quality was great.
I haven’t been here before but have been to Swallow Street. I thought the customer service and food were great. The noise level was tricky. We were a group of six and and struggled to hear people. Recommend and will revisit.
The pre-theatre menu was good quality and very good value!
Great service, the venue is nice, and the location is very central and close to theatres
delicious food. great service from our very attentive waiter
Order lobster would not recommend it not worth the money very disappointed.
The food was lovely and the waiter provided a first class service. Thanks!
4 of us on a Sunday teatime. The restaurant was quiet and not very busy. 2 of us had the pre theatre menu which was mostly good value, although the dishes most appetising all had a supplement. I had the tuna which was delicious. 2 of us shared a lobster, and they enjoyed it very much. Service was polite and helpful. I would have liked to see a side dish included with the set menu; the dishes needed a side (apart from the fish and chips) and it just adds to the set menu price. Food was nice, service at 12.5 % does ramp the price up, but I guess it is central London. All in all, a good dining experience.
We had the seafood platters
Will definitely be back
Fantastic food & wine.
The waitress we had recommended the wine to go with the meal and was spot on.
I would definitely recommend Fishworks.
Great looking place, nice service. The food was a bit too spiced up. Two of us had the tuna steak which was absolutely great but way too peppery.
We had a lovely lunch with family - the fish was fresh and in decent portions. Each dish was well flavoured and put together.
A fine fish restaurant, we went to it's sister restaurant (Swallow St) last week and enjoyed it so much that we gave the Covent Garden restaurant and delivered quality fish dishes in a relaxed themed environment. We were served professionally by Urte who in our opinion blended the right amount of conversation with efficient service. The theatre menu was good value and provided good dishes for the price. We will return at some stage.
The lunch two course special was excellent. I will return.
Great experience! Very quiet place, I will come back soon
I dined at Fishworks on Tuesday and loved it so much that I went back again the following Saturday. I took my mother-in-law who has to be careful with her food as she has a delicate stomach and can only eat carefully prepared food. She tucked into the fish soup and the cod and chips and said afterwards that not only was it very tasty but also that her stomach was very happy! This is now my top choice for restaurant in Covent Garden (or indeed all of West End) if I fancy fish.
Hi JeremyL, Thank you so much for such lovely review! We are so delighted to hear you had a great time with us here and hoping to see you back soon! Have a wonderful day, Regards, Rea
Excellent food service the lot. Just booked to come back!! A must try for seafood lovers. 5*
Lovey food and the service was just right - polite, friendly helpful and efficient.
Conveniently located restaurant for anyone visiting the nearby theatres or looking for a place to eat away from busy Covent Garden. Even when the restaurant got busy it still had an quite ambience and you felt rushed. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was extremely fresh and with great flavour.
A special thank you to Elenora our waitress who’s friendly service made experience even better. Highly recommend anyone visiting the area,
We were offered a choice of table and although we were only 2, were given a nice spacious table of 4 next to the window. We had the pre-theatre menu which was very good value. Being pre-theatre it was also good that it was served promptly so there was no last minute dash to get to the theatre. My only slight issue is that my companion had the sea bass which came with no accompaniments - had I not shared with him some of my chips he might have been a little hungry. He did however say that the sea bass was lovely and my fish and chips was certainly excellent.
This is a return visit for us and we took the theatre menu. Excellent quality food at sensible prices. We will be back 😀
This is great pre-theatre option. The fish tastes fresh and delicious, service is good and the place has a nice buzz!
Great fish restaurant, good wine list and reasonably priced -good kids menu as well and pleasant professional staff
Nice welcome, then ordered. The waitress fetched our starters before our oysters so had to return them. Then fetched out our main course before we had got starters, fetched main out yet again before we explained we still hadn’t had starters! Not very well organised
Really enjoyable meal at Fishworks. After being promptly seated at a very nice table (lucky enough to get a window 4-topper although we were a party of 2), we had an outstanding fish soup appetizer followed by an excellent, right-off-the-boat Dover sole. Other selections were also good, if not quite as memorable. Friendly service, happy room vibe, and an altogether pleasant evening.
Great restaurant where we have been several times before. This time we were hurried on but the downstairs waiter. Whilst I appreciate time slots we weren't in a fast food restaurant. Otherwise usually a great restaurant.
A comprehensive choice of dishes in a stylish atmosphere and superb service. Thank you!
Lovely food lovely venue, relaxed not too fussy but still could count as a nice night out.
I highly recommend the scallops they were delicious!
We enjoyed a fabulous Valentines dinner, everything was so perfect! Thank you 😄
Lovely relaxed place, we sampled the pre theatre menu: the smoked salmon was delicious served with fantastic bread, the scallops won praise from those who had them. The blackened mackerel was very tasty and not too spicy, the cod and chips was great crispy light batter and fantastic flakey cod. The Cornish wine from the maritime section on the wine list complimented the food brilliantly. Great friendly service to top it all - will definitely go back..
3 of us had the pre-theatre special. The salmon starter was tasty and the sea bream main was very well cooked. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive.
This was our first time and we will return. The food was excellent. The fish was clearly fresh and very well cooked in deed. Service was charming although a little slow, especially bearing in mind we had told our waiter on arriving that we anted the pre-theatre menu because we were going to the theatre,
Overall though we had a good meal and will happily go again
Very quiet when we we got there, but it had just opened!
Welcomed by a very friendly waiter and seated at a table of our choice.
A waitress was good at suggesting wines (spot on) and answering any questions about the menu.
All our food was excellently cooked, and sensibly portioned.
As the restaurant filled up the ambience improved.
Great food, great service and excellent location.
The tasting menu for two people is really excellent. We has the traminer white wine from Italy which was perfect with the meal. The desserts are ok.
Really good tuna - the best I've had outside Greece, where it is very fresh. Scallops good too. Interesting selection of wine and the wines we tried were excellent.
Great value post theatre menu, enjoyed the fish and chips
