charcoal-grilled meat and seafood, Firepit is casual dining at its finest in a stunningly
restored heritage space. Premium-quality meat, fresh market seafood and locally-sourced
vegetables are cooked by our pit masters over fire, on the vertical grill, or in one of two
custom-built wood-fired ovens.
Starters include Sheep’s milk saganaki, pan-fried with honey, lemon and ouzo, Wagyu
tartare, Blue swimmer crab salad. Main courses showcase grass and grain fed beef grilled to
order over the coals, a selection of ribs and the famous snapper schnitty. Add a generous
array of sides for a memorable feast.
Great for big groups. Awesome little private rooms whoch is awesome. Friendly service. Bit loud for 2 person dinners I feel, but great for groups. Cocktails were fresh. Food was good, my lamb was a bit chewy but lamb is like that sometimes. Our waiter was great very charismatic. Restroom facilities were clean & well stocked. All in all a nice meal.
Had a reservation, drove 30 minutes to get there to be told that the kitchen was exhausted and that they probably should have called to let us know but they were just too flat out. Then asked what else there was on offer and got told to go to McDonald's up the road.
Looked forward to dining here but after that I definitely will not be returning.
I was recommended The Paper Mill for my birthday and it was great! Amazing food, atmosphere and service. Our waiters were so sweet and helpful!
My only con was it was boiling hot in there and so many flies. For such a beautiful restaurant I wish they had proper inducted air con so guest could be comfortable. Some people
I came with enjoyed it too but also wanted to rush out of there due to the heat. Other then that I cannot wait to dine here again.
Seeing as your Instagram account operative deleted my mini review/comment on a post - I thought I'd definitely leave a review through this platform.
There was a lot that was wrong this particular night we visited and dined at Firepit. Had been once before earlier in the year with friends and had a pretty pleasant experience so thought my husband and I would take both sets of parents there to celebrate Xmas/New Years...and boy were we embarrassed afterwards.
From the moment we walked in nothing was 'right' as such. From a new employee taking my order and not putting my fathers drink through to half the side plates being taken away even though there were 2 sides ordered for the table to not being shown or offered dessert menu the list goes on....
The employees there are not well trained at all and have no idea about customer service and how to handle different situations. If you say you are going 'to check on something' well you are supposed to come back to the customer and let them know the outcome etc. Not just walk off never to return.
It's an amazing venue for the area but needs a lot of work. With not even being a year old, and claiming on multiple social media posts that you have "the best" of something is quite questionable. A lot of work needs to be done to have the consistency of other similar restaurants. I think that's the best way to put it.
I was very happy with the food and service in The Paper Mill. The staff are very friendly and full of sense of humour. Especially I score 10/10 for Patrick who served my table. He was so friendly and dedicated, made us feel very comfortable and always want to come back because of him
This place was ah-mazing ! Had dinner with my two sisters and everything was outstanding. The service, the food, the cocktails! Staff were great, will definitely be coming back!
Unfortunately the food was terrible. The paella was tasteless and the salt and pepper squid wasn’t great either. The batter just fell off so the plate was just left with the batter.
Unfortunately the service was terrible and very poorly managed. The average food was well overpriced with long wait times. We were mostly surprised by the amount of food waste due to getting orders wrong and receiving the same meals twice. Lots of hype, but overall very disappointing.
Was excited to bring the family to give it a try but unfortunately it was a bit of a disaster.
Wait staff seemed very confused and did not know anything about the food on the menu. A number of times they brought the incorrect food to our table and we had to correct their mistakes. Had to ask staff numerous times for water refills. Staff are just not very attentive.
Wait time for the food was unreasonably long. Food was quite average and not worth the money.
Venue itself is quite nice but parking in the area is a nightmare. They have signs outside regarding valet parking however no indication of any staff carrying out the duties.
Would not recommend.
Excellent meals and service... terrible trouble finding a park is my only criticism
It was a nice change. The service was great. Food was nice and we enjoyed the atmosphere. A little disappointed to find out our tip is not passed onto the wait staff!! Parking not good but overall we liked it.
Worst service I’ve ever had. Staff were slow and RUDE. Food was cold. Very disappointed
Delicious food and great atmosphere
Great set up. Service and Food were poor. Loved the valet and gelato bar. Its a shame. I'll give it another go one day but not in a rush
we had a lovely night, but the service wasn't the best....waitress needs much more training and the co ordination of drinks and food need to be better...
They forgot our mains even though we asked the waitresses 3 times! It took them over an hour to get our mains, dessert menu never came out, we had to ask another waitress for it and they charged us $135 for a bottle of wine that we didn’t order. Overall the manager did say the bill was on the house however when you are 38 weeks pregnant and you have to wait over an hour for food. Definitely not impressed..
Service was really slow. These seem to be plenty of staff, and not many tables occupied but still took ages for the food to arrive. The waiter did not warn my friend that her plate was hot and she burned her finger. We weren't given jugs of water just refills whenever they remembered. 2 of my friends could not taste the garlic in the garlic prawns.
Table service was not the best spent $42 on a bottle of wine and had to ask for a ice bucket. No table water
Bar service in particular is always slow. They need a better system.
I cannot recommend Fire Pit enough! When we arrived we were treated to free valet parking, which was very convenient as there is not a lot of street parking. Requesting the car when we left was a very quick and easy process.
The food was amazing, so tasty and presented beautifully. We thought it was very good value for money, the portion sizes were generous and filling. The wait staff were very friendly and bubbly, nothing was a problem.
We will definitely be back, the private function rooms caught our eye with their beautiful presentation, it will be a great place for our company events. Thank you!
Amazing food and service... will definitely be going back...
We had great service from all staff working that day, food was delicious. We will be back.
Order taken for drinks and starters
Starters come before drinks...then a salad and mains ordered and then drinks and mains come without the salad which for some unknown reason Goto another table...food was good but this place is under staffed or they just don't know what's going on...real disappointment because it's a beautiful place oh and parking is real trouble too.
All good except the restaurant needs to do something to control the fruit flies those were everywhere
Great food, lovely atmosphere. Valet parking is a very convenient advantage for the area.
Although it was a great night I was disappointed when my $90 Lobster tails dish arrived to resemble Moreton Bay bugs. They tasted great but was not what I was expecting based on the menu description or the price. We also were left parched when no table water was left at the table to compliment our cocktails and meals, we had to ask for water refills.
Food was exceptional service was fantastic I would recommend Firepit to all my friends
It was our first time at FP. The food was great, the drinks took a little longer than expected, but overall it was a great place and I’ll definitely be back.
Free valet parking really got the experience off to a fantastic start. Menu was lacking kids options so you're limited to hot chips for kids, wait staff didn't give any options... but for the adults, the steak and queensland snapper schnitzel was cooked to perfection, hats off to the chef. Overall a lovely atmosphere and decor. The only hiccup which we weren't expecting was the pressure from staff to give a hefty tip on a bill that was already $148 for two adults and one child, this was only for focaccia entree, two main meals, 2 sides of hot chips, one beer, one wine and one apple juice . As it's not customary to give tips in Australia this felt awkward and embarrassing, and to be honest, the table service, while prompt, wasn't exactly award winning to justify the pressure of a $12 tip considering we were only there for half an hour. No one came to check if the meal was ok or if we needed extra drinks, or if we'd like dessert and coffee.
Good all round
All round very good. Did not know re valet parking til after the event. An attendant indicated $100 but restaurant staff indicated included????
Excellent dining experience, great atmosphere, not too noisy, fresh, open and not overly crowded. Amazing food, a touch pricey but all worth it, fabulous service from smiling helpful staff. Easy transaction, and decision. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic venue, a restaurant within a restaurant. The vibe from the staff was very positive, it must be a good place to work! The interior ambience was spot on with the rustic appearance of the original paper mill well maintained amongst and behind the modern adaptations to create a fun contrasting style without being as fake as most - this was a genuine paper mill in its past life! Highly recommended.
We will keep coming back.
Love the valet service.
We ordered lamb rack and snapper snitty. Lamb was so hard and chewy. Snapper had an after taste like it had either gone off or close to. It lasted like dried fish. Reported this to the waiter who appeared concerned and went to the kitchen to check. After that all we received for the final bill with no explanation about the horrible tasting fish which we had to leave half eaten. Paid the bill and decided never to visit the place again. Will pass on the feedback to our friends too.
Our waiter for the night was lovely and very attentive, staff were great. However, felt like we were in a walkway for the other casual dining areas, which we actually were! When you are paying the prices that Firepit charge it should be more contained rather than the foodhall feel with large groups of people standing around your table saying their goodbyes to each other.
Firepit was a lovely venue to meet for lunch for a group of friends. The private rooms were excellent for having kids with us. Food was a bit expensive but overall a great experience.
Food was nice and brought out very quickly even though they were very busy. Found it a bit pricey for the quality of food. Had the pork ribs and did not like them. Will probably come back and try something different.
Decor very good with nice vibe. Menu was good but food generally disappointing. My friend's paella was terrible, the gnocchi had a great mushroom sauce but the gnocchi was really tough. The Angus Eye Fillter was well cooked and probably best meal on the table. Pasta Marinara was just okay. One of the waiters was very good but he was busy organising other wait staff that were not very well trained, so if we wanted anything we had to signal a waitress. Bit expensive for what we received. Would definitely go back to the Paper Mill for more casual dining, pizzas, coffee etc. but not keen on going back to Fire Pit.
Always get looked after really well! Great place for anything!!
