Figs by Todd English - Beacon Hill
Figs Pizza is most likely like no other pizza you’ve ever had. Don’t be surprised by the large freeform shape—its specifically part of what will go into your overall experience in enjoying this unique meal.
The crust will be so crisp and thin it will be close to brittle. That finely crisped quality is achieved by the special technique used in making the dough and a short cooking time at a very high temperature. The toppings are the finest freshest available and are, as often as possible local produce and other ingredients.
A distinctive quality of a Figs Pizza is that it will cool down quickly. If you take a pizza with you please follow the directions provided by the restaurant when heating it again at home.
Not good the food was bland
Terrible service. Atmosphere sucks. Food was not prepped by TE nor anything anyone who even knows who he is! An absolute disgrace!
Great food, great location. We both had pasta but I would love to come back to try the pizza.
Food was fantastic and reasonably priced, given its quality and location. Service was excellent.
The only downside was the room, which was very cramped and lacked any real character or warmth. We were seated at a high-top, which was crowded by a case of some type of building material and a stack of pizza boxes, and was in the path of traffic for the wait staff and diners wishing to use the bathroom.
Food was EXCELLENT. Service was completely lack luster. Barely came over to the table, one of the kids meals (chicken tenders) was served 15 minutes after the rest. Nothing makes for a happy 8 year old like one not getting food when they are hungry. Soup was served without a spoon to eat it and despite there being at least three staff clearly talking to each other and not doing anything, could not get their attention for more than 10 minutes. Als asked for more bread and was told it was in the oven. But it never came. Too bad, like I said food was top notch….service just needs work!
My first time here. Was dying for the Fig Pizza. Ordered that and Bolognese and calamari. Calamari was excellent. Bolognese had a white cream sauce on the pasta and Bolognese beside it - very heavy. Pizza ok - maybe too much balsamic. Waiter forgot my order for 2nd glass of wine. Really cute place. But I am not sure I would go back.
It seems like Fig's has gone downhill over the last couple of years. The pizza we has was fine but nothing special. The bread was served cold. The bathrooms were messy. The service was quick and probably the highlight of the experience. I don't think I'd go out of my way to come here again.
Excellent food and service. Was very annoying that a couple at a table were using their cell phones and no one in the restaurant did anything about it.
I have been to Figs several times and normally it has been outstanding. I had made a reservation for my family but upon arriving, waited several minutes (like 10) before anyone even acknowledged us. We were going to be seated at a high top which would have been very uncomfortable for 4 adults. We were moved to a table when one became available. Reservation was made over a week in advance so I feel a table should have been set aside. Once we were seated it took a while for someone to take a drink order but after that the service was fine. Food was very good but one of the pizza's was definitely burnt. We were starved so we ate it anyways. Overall we enjoyed the evening but it's been better in the past.
We used to dine in here regularly when in town. The entire place has changed significantly in a downward trend. The restaurant was totally empty but The server was confused as to her job. She did not speak english. She did not know how to take our order . She had to be summoned each time we needed her and was in the back sitting with bar tender in their phones . The pizza was on a totally undercooked crust despite there being only one other table . The pizza baker had his head down on the counter with nothing to do . Not sure how or why he half baked the pizza.
It was all vary sad as this used to he our favorite spot . .
Always a good casual place.
Everything was great other than the three young women and older gentleman seated next to us. The rest of the patrons all kept turning to look whenever the one girl whose voice was a cross between a chainsaw and a 747 on takeoff started yelling which was often. One nice lady even asked them to tss as or their decibel level down so others could converses too but it didn’t help. It’s unfortunate when inconsiderate diners feel the need to fill a small space with only their voice. The three at our table all stopped talking several times because we simply couldn’t hear each other. Lowest common denominator wins.
Dinner with family
They didn’t have my reservation
Old school pomodoro too salty, pasta drowned in sauce
First and last time
Waitress brought everything at once, salad, then a couple minutes later one person’s pasta order and then 5 mins later, the other person’s pizza. Food was okay…may have ordered wrong, but servers should know to oace courses a bit.
Excellent pizzas. Thin. Fresh and yummy.
Great location in Beacon Hill.
The restaurant was closed. How was it possible to make a reservation? My friends and I took three separate ubers from separate locations only to arrive at a closed restaurant.
This place was fantastic! My boyfriend and I went here for the first time on a Saturday night and were completely satisfied! The food was amazing. We got the spicy chicken sausage pizza (HIGHLY recommend), chicken parm, and the chicken paccata. Everything came out cooked perfectly and nice and hot!
Overall Fig’s was pretty average. Food (pizza) was decent even though one of us had to make a second choice because they were out of an ingredient for the first choice. The wine was good. Atmosphere is OK, patio area looked more inviting than the interior where we sat. The wait staff were inattentive disinterested and slow to take our order.
There are no words to describe the hospitality of the hostess. We came in from NY and at the time of our arrival they had to unexpectedly close. I pretty much begged and pleaded to be seated offering to Venmo our bill as their servers were down. Well let me tell you I had a fabulous meal as I have had before. The warm bacon spinach salad is a must as is their asparagus and mussels. I’m sorry I didn’t get their names but Todd English... you have exceptional staff. Please open in NY preferably near me ❤️❤️
Outstanding and inventive menu selections.
Service was excellent.
Could not more highly recommend!
Terrible service. Rude host. Would not return or recommend.
High expectations. Food was middling to average. Service was weak. Won’t race back
A very nice casual restaurant in Back Bay in a very small space. Very few tables, both low and high and also stools at the bar/pizza oven area. Seating is best for two to four people. Service is friendly. The pizza is the specialty and is top notch and worth a special trip. Spinach side was excellent as well. No iced tea for some reason. Food was up quickly but never pressed for time. Nice playlist.
The food is always great!
Fairly priced for the quality!
It’s very cozy inside. Outside is also nice depending on the weather.
The service is a bit up and down…the wait staff are excellent, but there is one very surly busgirl/runner who can be overlooked and her demeanor is inconsistent with the friendly vibe of this neighborhood gem!
Great food with a great atmosphere! We dined before a show in the theatre district and the service was prompt and we had time to stroll through the park afterwards. Highly recommend!
It was unclear if we could request outdoor seating on line but food was delicious
Great gourmet craft pizzas. Hadn't been there in a while & were hankering for the yumminess that is Figs. We always get the Bianca Pizza. Yum! Red sangria is tasty also. Eggplant sliders were a pleasant surprise.
Did not meet our food expectations. Great location, service was good.
May have been better years ago. Unfortunately, no longer on top of their game.
Excellent lunch with our family. Great appetizer, salads, and pizzas. Look forward to returning again.
The food was great although they were limited on what they were offering IE: beer and wine only. I would definitely go back as the outdoor dining looked fun.
Good food and great people watching. Go earlier in the day to avoid wait time!
We were really excited about these pizzas, and ordered the fig and prosciutto and the chicken sausage pizzas. We thought the first would have fresh figs but it was like fig jam. The other had a sweet creamy sauce poured in n top - totally unnecessary. Service was terrific though. I guess we should have read the menu more carefully. We were also seated inches from next table. Still a little nervous about being so close to strangers!
We sat outside here and enjoyed every minute! The food was great, the service was great, and we didn’t feel rushed. Highly recommend.
Love Figs!! Come here all the time for the amazing appetizers, pizza and ambiance!! Service was great too
Haven’t been back in many years and our experience did not disappoint! Food was as good as always and very attentive staff. Great outdoor patio now! Wish we could get there more often!!
