Feast - Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park
Our menu reflects Sydney’s wonderful melting pot of cultures. Savour meats and seafood grilled to perfection, and local favourites. Open kitchens serve fresh food à la minute, while buffet-style displays encourage an interactive dining experience.
The stone hearth oven at the heart of Feast redefines our hotel’s dining experience. Connect with loved ones over comforting roasts, wood-fired pizzas, and exquisite hot desserts unlike any other in the city. The aromas of freshly baked bread and pastries emanating from the ovens are delightfully intoxicating.

After 3 months of isolation and looking forward to a weekend getaway, my partner and I booked a buffet dinner that we were both very much looking forward to for about a week before the event itself. We had about 4 confirmation messages, telling us that we've got a table and about 30 mins before the booking, got a text saying it's cancelled. Discovered (after going to the hotel anyways) that there was 2 bookings and they had cancelled one without telling us what's going on - disappointing communication.
After this we were sent to an almost empty bar while we wait for our table. Despite 3 f&b attendants being on shift and barely anyone in the bar, it took about 15 minutes to order 2 drinks and then 30 minutes AFTER that for them to realise that they're out of a particular drink we wanted - appalling.
The buffet itself was delivered in full basically to the table, in very uneven (between the tables) portion sizes and a non-consistent service. We had a manager serving our table who basically rushed us to finish each course and would drop food at the table without even telling us what it was. I can understand this is a new concept for most hotels and other buffets - but charging $100 per head for below average service and mediocre food is unreasonable.
Maybe the experience is better usually pre COVID and this is them adjusting?? But not the "Sheraton Grand" experience one might be expecting.
Awesome mangers and staff
Having gone to the Sheraton for its excellent buffets in years gone past, was disappointed with both the quality and assortment of both seafood and meat dishes on offer. The bugs and prawns were tasteless and the oysters on offer were tiny. Limited assortment of meat dishes on offer. Won't be rushing back any time soon unfortunately....
Perhaps the weekend buffet is a better selection but the Tuesday night buffet lacked a good selection to justify the cost. The prawns and crab required far more effort to get into than should have been necessary and the quality was just OK. The next day or so I experienced intestinal distress.
C était mon anniversaire j avais prévenue mais aucune intention de la part du restaurant
The buffet previously was terrific. The variety and choices were varied, especially the seafood offerings. But more recently corners have been cut. No more sashimi and only token sushi. Fruit and nuts are also not what it used to be with again less choice. On the other hand the price has gone up. So we have a combination of cutting corners and hiking the price. Can't really be enthusiastic about that combination. Try reviving the best of previous years.
Service very good. The food display is super and stretch out so not much que up to get the food. Ample variety of sea food. You get a good view of the Hyde Park if sitting close to the window.
Only regret was Opentable did not forward my booking instruction for a cake and candle for my friend’s birthday. The waitress straight away remedy it by putting cakes from the desert table with a candle and two of them came up with the candle lit singing happy birthday to my friend and take photos for us with our phone. We all appreciate their gesture very much.
Seafood wasn't fresh. Poor quality meat and desert was pretty average. Look at the Shangri La buffet in Bangkok or Manila for quality. Your buffet wasn't 10% as good, but double the price!
The restaurant was fantastic the food was wonderful
Definately would not recommend this to a friend. I have been to Sheraton overseas and the quality and service is impeccable. SYDNEY Sheraton as absolutely no level of customer service or quality to it.
Miss an incredible food. Lobster, mussels, octopus ... not good pasta and not too much option and for people doesn’t eat a seafood will be lost. 👎🏾
Many diners now seem to be using discount vouchers and this is reflected in the quality and variety of food. Prawns and oysters were fresh and delicious but the hot food and salads were disappointing.
After much deliberation, we decided to eat at Feast, choosing this option over dining in our room as we were tired from traveling. Big mistake.
On the plus side, the seafood part of the buffet was lovely and perfectly fresh; prawns, Sydney rock oysters, smoked cod, crab, etc ... all beautiful. We had a lovely seafood entree.
Then it all went downhill.
For our main course, we found potatoes, cauliflower with cheese sauce ... and ... and ... not a lot else. There were salads, but no meat to accompany what was in essence, roast vegetables. There was an Asian chicken dish (BBQ and chilies) but who wants that with roast vegetables? There was the remnants of a whole salmon but it was just bones. We could have had Asian noodles or pizza, but at $89 a head, we wanted something special and found nothing.
Desserts were lovely but nothing special.
The wine was delicious but cost almost three times what it costs at a bottle shop which seemed like a massive mark up.
Staff were nice, aside from the head waiter who was pompous and who I watched tipping water from one of the finger bowls onto the floor (yuck). He gave us no information about how the buffet worked when we sat down.
Then the bill came! We were charged $16 for a bottle of water (after asking for tap water). This was corrected, but overall the whole experience, which should have been special, felt very average. That’s not even mentioning how close we were to another table where a very loud conversation ran over the top of a child who intermittently screamed throughout dinner.
Definitely not going back. Ever. At half the price it would still have been too expensive. So disappointed.
The food was pretty average and would expect more from a company like the Sheraton.
$16 for a San Pellegrino is a bit too much...
Don’t think we will go back
The oysters is great
But overall, the food variety is little and not really special
Just not what it used to be. Seafood options are quite limited now. No Bugs or Lobster.
An excellent dining experience. This is our third time experiencing the seafood buffet and it continues to maintain a high standard of food. There is a good selection of seafood and plenty of choice for those who prefer not to have seafood. The service has always been exceptional, and the ambience very pleasant. Overall a great place to have a great meal.
The food is always delicious although some of the prawns had been frozen and were quite soggy.
There is always a great choice of food and also delicious sweets.
The seafood buffet at Feast Restaurant - Sheraton on the Park is delicious.
The choice of dishes is terrific. If you are not feeling like seafood, there is a choice of Asian, Roast of the day, soups and a variety of hot and cold dishes. The dessert bar is something to see with a great choice of small desserts so you can try more than one. Love it every time I visit.
Has changed a lot. Buffet was not as nice as usual and service very poor. Used to go often but wouldn’t rush back.
Our third time at Feast on Anzac Day. Still lovely. Food as usual was really good . I was surprised there was no smoked salmon or Morton bay bugs. The Alaskan crap was a waste of time.
Desserts as usual was good and the vanilla bean custard sensational.
We’ll be back next Anzac Day.
Very nice venue. The quality of the food was moderate. For a seafood buffet, they had the smallest oysters I've ever seen. The kitchen staff could keep the service door closed, as we heard the sound of dishes getting clanged and cutlery tipped out. not what you'd expect from this venue. Our waitress Michelle was fantastic!! Overall it was still a nice meal and location. Just had higher expectations.
I have been going to the Sheraton for years and it’s always been amazing. However on Good Friday the service was terrible. I had made a reservation since early March and they put us in the back room, they didn’t want to change our seats because it was “too busy” when there were tables available in the main dining room. The service was just poor for the Sheraton standard. However on the plus side the food was good. But I am not convinced to go there again over Easter - I was disappointed.
Absolutely delicious seafood - fresh and yummy. Great choice of other hot and cold food.
Great place to go for a celebration or just to catch up with friends.
It was so nice
With the exception of the waitress that served us, the whole experience was best forgotten. Having been many times before we were expecting same high standard but sadly disappointed. Not worth the money.
Seafood was fresh but the buffet was small and a crowded with people. Selections of food was small but what was there was tasty. Service was a little weak for the price we paid. A drinks menu was put on out table but no one wanted to take our order.
The restaurant was dirty and there was no dress code. Children crawling around the floor. People in shorts. Food on the carpet and the chairs. People changing baby nappies on tables.
Fabulous food. The seafood was excellent, particuarly the oysters. They were on the smaller side but wonderfully creamy tasting. Desserts were fab too! Definitely our preferred buffet compared to the Star and the Intercontinental. Service was great and it didn’t feel to crowded inside. It was a saturday evening and there was no queue at the stations.
Food was average for the price charged.
Service was very average, the girl serving the noodle bar wasn’t friendly at all & couldn’t speak English properly.
Wasn’t impressed wifh this buffet.
I’m a regular at this hotel but first time at this Feast restaurant, wouldn’t recommend to my friends.
The restaurant seemed overcrowded.
The area were ice cream is served was very messy with water all over the place including inside the icecream.
Too many kids running around and constantly knocking your chair....seating is very close to the service area with people constantly knocking your seat....
One positive is that the seafood was fresh however different foods were mixed up in different service areas.
There hall staff do not care customer service is not good
Very enjoyable experience . Seafood was very fresh and we thoroughly enjoyed the blue swimmer crabs. Service was excellent with our waiter Ivan very efficient and extremely attentive. Would love to return and enjoy Feast restaurant again.
Warm welcome and attentive services are the best values here. Food was average, yet cannot be called a seafood buffet. Wide variety but none is special or outstanding. The salmon sushi is definitely not edible, rice was hard like rock and the salmon was not at all fresh, but rather dried and tough like robber band. Have heard of many contradictory comments about this buffet and I can conclude from my experience that it is not worth the price not the reputation of Sheraton. Our waitress saved the night, I think her name was Fanoux, well done.
Overall food is great, with membership card the price is good for group dining (if you do multiple times a year) too.
Without membership card it appears over priced for overall services you get, that's why 4* for value.
For some reason I never get a window side table (about 8 times) that's why I chose 3* for service.
Been to the Sheraton feast many times before, but this time was the worst ever
Poor quality of food and variety. Usually different kind of sushi, smoked salmon and meat. This time non of it was served.
For $114 pp I expect more Very disappointed
Booth seating in a buffet style restaurant is ridiculous.
Service should be more attentive to clearing plates pouring wines and be vigilant.
To many guests and not enough staff.
Oysters needed more replenishment.
This is at the feast sea food buffet restaurant.
Sunday lunch was lovely. I go there because I'm mostly interested in the seafood - the snow crabs and prawns were fresh, meaty and very tasty. The desserts were perfectly satisfying. While I only had very little of the other components, what I had and what I saw were very inviting.
Nice restaurant - seafood is fresh and abundant. Great service. Need spoons not plastic scoops for ice cream station.
Excellent breakfast as well. Great staff.
My only complaint is why do they ask if you’re celebrating anything and do nothing about it. We were celebrating an anniversary - 40yrs and nothing. Not even a special table.
