Playfully named Fatt Pundit it’s a combination of the common Chinese surname ‘Fatt’ with the Indian word ‘Pundit’ (a scholar).
Really tasty Indian/Chinese food eaten in a tapas style. Highly recommended.
Great food, well balanced flavours, adventurous. Service however was not up to par. All the food was placed on the table within about 15-20 minutes, while we were just starting our cocktail... so no possibility to take a glass of wine with the food. We were also put at a table right at the entrance, far away from other customers, in a corner where a lot of staff came to place their trays on the bar. When we asked if we could be moved to another table (to be able to get a bit of the atmosphere of the restaurant) we got the response they would see how they could be of help... however, people came and went, tables became available and we weren't moved... a bit unfortunate since the food was so good. Maybe next time we'll have better luck... or a different waiter.
Amazing fusion food. The lamb dumplings are amazing!
Not really a great visual, when the cook sneezes in her hand and continues to arrange the food.
A great find close to Liberty and the bustling Regent Street. The positives really are the food which is what I would describe as a fusion of Indian and Chinesse cuisine served tapas (small plate) style. Very tasty, creative and inventive with suitable dishes for vegetarians and meat lovers alike. You must try the hakka chilli paneer letuce cups aswell as the crackling spinach which are both brilliantly good. The staff are warm, helpful and welcoming - so nothing to fault on that front.
The negatives though are the ambience, noise levels and service. One thing to bear in mind is that food is served on the basis of what is first cooked by the kitchen, so don't expect items you order to appear in some sort of chronological order. Note while this is perfectly acceptable, its not something which the staff bother to explain when ordering. Also it does take a while for service - whether that's waiting for your food, or the bottle of still water you asked for after you sat down to even paying the bill!
Nevertheless, I would happily go back again and encourage you try Fatt Pundit purely because the food is so good for the price point.
Lovely service. It was my partner's birthday and the staff went out of their league to make the evening very special.
Food is great, fantastic flavors. As the portions are tapas size you get to try more things than a normal indian place.
If you want to try indian food with a twist (i.e. chinese influence) definitely go for it.
Fantastic food and drinks. Everyone was incredibly nice on the staff and the food is delicious. Try the Goat Momo, crackling spinach and lamb chops! Yummy!
Amazing indochinese food. Too good! They gave us a lovely dessert and a personalized card for our anniversary!
Great hidden gem, one of our more memorable meals. This easily stood up against meals we had at Chiltern Firehouse and The Ivy
Great experience. Great food. Definitely recommend this place. Marvin provided us with excellent service. Recommend the crispy spinach!!
The food tasted great, was delivered fast, and the staff was amazing. Highly recommend!
Lovely Indian Chinese ...bit pricey though .. but tasty food . Lamb chops ,chili prawns and Manchurian were the favourite. Sizzling brownie is a must for choco lovers!
Portion size very less. Not value for money. Just a hype.
Really lovely space, cosy and not too busy on the night. Very attentive staff. Lovely menu - good choice of dishes. Everything we had was delicious- kid goat momos were amazing. Mains were great too but portion sizes on the smaller side so order one more dish than you think you might need if hungry - sharing plates. The lamb chops were heavenly as was the crackling spinach - an absolute delight. We finished with the sizzling brownie - beats a traditional brownie hands down. All in a really lovely meal - would definitely recommend and planning to return.
I have been to Fatt Pundit a few times and the food is always delicious. The service is also great as they are really nice and attentive. Every single person I took there loved it. I will definitely keep going back!
we loved the food and the service, we will certainly be back, just for the spinach alone
We have eaten around the world and this was simply wonderful food. Good spice, unique dishes, good cocktails. Small and in a great neighborhood.
The food was good, although quite spicy. However they brought all the food at once and extremely quickly, but took so long to bring the wine that we cancelled it and went elsewhere for drinks. Overall good value for money (although very little alcohol on our bill) but they didn't take Amex which was inconvenient. Would recommend for the food but not for the vibe and the service isn't amazing.
Good meal.. not extraordinary but good.. A bit too spicy (should be mentioned on the menu)
Wonderful, friendly service and excellent food. I was given some really good recommendations that I was glad they told me about and I tried. So good! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Portions are really small for the relatively high prices they're charging and the taste overall is decent nothing mind blowing.
Compared to other much highly regarded Indian/fusion restaurants , I found they are certainly over priced which makes me doubt I'll be visiting again.
Tables were a little small especially since the dishes are small you need to order a few “tapas” style.
Ambience was amazing staff very attentive.
Looking forward to going back.
Food was really tasty, service wasn't the best but overall a nice meal
Very tasty food. Service over lunch was ok - we went at lunch when there was hardly anyone. Portions aren't huge and I find £17 a bit expensive for a mid-week lunch so probably won't go there regularly but the crackling spinach is very very good.
Great food, with brilliant recommendations at every stage. Wine was great value. Staff were incredible throughout. Great fun and a surprise birthday card for my wife too!
We met here for a 2 person lunch - Weds 1.30pm. We were suprised to see only one other table in use- the place was really quite which worried me. I should not have being concerned- the air con was on- lovely and cool- fantastic calm atmosphere and you could hear yourself think/ talk.
We ordered a selection of MoMos, a fish curry and some lamb chops and all were SUPERB. Washed down with a couple of chilled beers- Perfect.
The staff were lovely and attentive.
I hope this place gets peoples support and truely its a great little restaurant that should do well with food of this quality.
Food was pretty good, we had 5 dishes between us which were all very tasty, the crackling spinach in particular. It's been tricky to get an evening booking here on a Friday so I booked weeks in advance for 6pm and as we were running a little late they reminded us we had the table until 7:30. We did finish by then but noticed there were quite a few tables empty by then which is a bit odd given the lack of availability online.
Amazing food and service! Would highly recommend this place! Food 10/10 😀
The food is good service was good too but place and vibe not that much
Good food served by good people. Would recommend the kale chart, chicken Manchurian, schezwan rice, prawns. The mango shrikhand dessert was good too and they have a nice range of local indian drinks including lassi and thums up !
This is an indian-chinese place.
Came to around £40 a head for drinks, food and dessert.
Would suggest you order a good mix as some dishes are very spicy.
The food was delicious best dumplings I have ever eaten. The crispy spinach was lovely and different. Venison and bread was lovely as was the soft shell crab.
Amazing food and service. Fairly busy on a Tuesday dinner.
The food reminded me the Chinese fast food available is India.
All dishes are carefully selected on the menu offering a blast of flavours. Can’t wait to return back.
Lovely food and service
This was GQ magazine's top choice for pre-theater dinner in the West End. Don't expect a fancy white linen restaurant, just the best food you'll have in a long time! Momo buns were spectacular, loved the curry sea bream, and a very reasonable price of 77 GBP for 2 people who stuffed themselves silly and drank 2 glasses of wine (service charge included).
a bit pricey but overall really good food. Amazing staff, not pushing us to leave - extremely nice! Overall a great night!
The service is really good, but the food was nothing special. My favourite item was the crab and the panner dish. The Manchurian chicken was not as good as I was expecting. The mango lassi was lovely.
My first visit. Best food I’ve had in Soho. Dishoom bit better
The lollipop chicken was amazing. We had to order another portion! Cruncy, tasty and slightly spicy!
The lamb chops were gorgeous. Super tender. Super tasty. Really enjoyed them.
The manchurian chicken was nice. Will try the rib eye dish next time!
The bread was delicious.
The watermelon juice was brilliant but needed ice!
Service could have been better hence the 4 star. We did not feel welcomed when we entered.
The chef bringing out the food was however fantastic!
Food was good however the experience felt so rushed.
So all six dishes were out in ten minutes and staff kept clearing table at earliest opportunity.
Not allowed time to fully enjoy the experience.
Staff tending to address my male component opposed to me(female).
As a dining experience, I wouldn’t recommend.
