Took 45 minutes before anyone came to take our order and we had to get up and go to the bar four times to ask before that. No one even came to take a drinks order before us ordering food. Once we ordered from the lunch menu (which included a meal and a drink) the food came but only one drink out of the 5 people who ordered came. After waiting twenty minutes, one of us got up to ask for the drinks. They started making them and said 'can you stay here and take them to the table while you're up here'. It's not as if the restaurant was busy and the staff was no where to be seen a lot of the time. Really unhappy that the service was like this from a place I loved coming to often!

My second time here and this time I ordered a steak, it was cooked to my liking, I could not fault it. Friendly staff & very efficient despite it being a busy Saturday evening. Love this place! The dessert platter was definitely worth the try, very nice!

Good lunch deal - $20 for your meal and a drink. More than enough on the menu to cater to everyone. Service is good, quick enough to do on your lunch break and the food is always decent.

My husband and I and our 2 adult daughters went to Fathers Office for dinner on Saturdaynight to celebrate Father’s Day. It was about a quarter full when we arrived at 7.30 but quickly filled up. Was very noisy which I know young people like, but it’s a bit of a killer for conversation. However I liked the idea of a separate dining room. Service for the food was very fast but had to keep asking for our drinks which we didn’t get until we had finished our main course! Not ideal! Dessert plate was great and we shared this with 3 people! Overall I liked the place but having to keep asking the wait staff for drinks and then the dessert menu etc wasn’t ideal. Drinks should ideally come before or with the main course- not afterwards!

Was recommended by a coeliac facebook member and Fathers Office didn't let us down. My son was so excited to have battered fish and chips and I loved my crumbed chicken and chips with mushroom gravy. It was sooooo nice to go out and have an affordable meal, perfect portion size, gluten free and so many options. Wish you had a restaurant in Adelaide!!! Would highly recommend to coeliacs and everyone else. Thanks Fathers Office.

i was advised the bar was noisy so booked the dining room for a family get together for both young and old.
When we arrived they said the dining room was closed and put us in the bar which was noisy! The balcony was all roped off so could not enjoy the beautiful sunny day outside.
The food was average but not pricey so would not complain.
After we finished lunch we asked to order coffee but was told it would take a while as there was only one person serving at the bar. She said she could make then between serving other patrons drinks so we decided at that point to leave and move on to a more organised venue

I took my wife out for her birthday and I chose Fathers Office because of the many good reviews and for its vicinity to the Her Majesty's Theatre, where we had two seats reserved later on in the evening.

All I can say is that we were welcomed by vibrant and competent staff, who managed to serve us not only with delicious food and outstanding service but also with top level professionalism and empathy.

I woud definitely suggest to order the eye fillet as it comes with onion marmalade on top and sweet potatoes, it was delicious and well accompanied with a bottle of Samuel Wynn & Co Cab-Sav. Just to die for!

Second time having dinner here in a month and I love it!! As being someone who can’t eat gluten it’s always hard finding somewhere that’s suited for me and my friends / family. Pricing is amazing, staff are amazing and super friendly !! Will definitely be back !! Also love the 1920s feel on the inside.

I had my birthday dinner/drinks here and I loved it! The waiter we had was extremely accommodating and answered all our questions, and even joined in to sing me a happy birthday. It was a little loud and hard to hear people sitting across from you, but you can’t beat the awesome vibe and tunes they have playing!

We were not offered drinks or starters while we waited for our friend to join us. We couldn't get waitress attention. The burger was small quantity for its cost. The onion rings were mostly batter. The restaurant is cold too much air-con.

Loud music made it impossible to speak easily to the servers or have conversations with each other. The whole of the restaurant was so cold that most tables kept their coats and scarves on. The servers were doing their best and working hard in the excessively loud environment. Our cocktails were both very poorly made, and the glasses of wine tasted like it had been open for some time. The starters and the mains arrived together which was odd but fine. Apart from the noise level, the biggest surprise was how rude the person with the iPad who found our booking and then managed our payments was to us. He was actually surly and wandered off before I entered my pin on the eftpos machine. It made for a memorable anniversary dinner but for all the wrong reasons. If you want a really weird dinner experience, this place is for you!

A member of our party has a medical condition and has a small stomach. The restaurant server stated everyone had to order a main meal to sit in the area, which was a problem. The food was ok but it was so loud you couldn’t even hear the person next to you.

Ten of us went on our family men's night out. The food was tasty and we were all happy with what we ordered except for the chicken wing which were over cooked and not tasty. The rest of us had burgers and we highlight the Apple beef abd Beetroot burger it was very tasty. The kimchi burger was also voted a hit. Only criticisms were the burgers were warm but not hot and we had to ask for service to get drinks , give food orders and get the bill, but it wasn't a big problem, once we asked they came straight away.
Great plAce for a casual tun meal. Reasonably priced.

I was staying in Melbourne by myself finding places for dinner. Low and behold a place called fathers office turned up. With great service and meals, delivered fast and served perfectly to my table. You can see the care and attention the chefs out into each meal. I would highly recommend this to anyone who would like a great meal and great beer!

We had a great time. We wanted something a bit different as there are many many asian type restaurants in the area and we wanted a change. There was a good range of foods for us all to choose from and we have some picky eaters with us. Great service. Huge food plates and we left really full and contented. We will return soon and would recommend.

The food, service and overall venue were great.
The significant downside was that it was a cold June night in Melbourne and the heating did not work. When we asked for the heating to be turned up, the waitress advised us that it had been broken for 2 years and that it was cold in Winter and boiling hot in summer.
We all sat with our coats on during the entire meal and it was still cold and uncomfortable. We would have left but there were 10 of us.
Also, the coffee machine was broken (and had been for a month) so no coffees. The men's toilets were also broken and two were cordoned off.

They need to spend the money to fix the broken things as this detracts from the experience.
