Overall the night was fun, food was delicious and staff were friendly. We had a few issues with drink orders being incorrect but minor issue with the night. atmosphere was great!

I like the food (tasty, interesting menu, served promptly), drinks (good cocktails) and staff (friendly and responsive) at Father’s Office. There are two things, however, that detracted from the experience. 1. Booking system. Yes, it is great you can do it online. I appreciate that people pulling out would no doubt have financial implications to a business but there was no way for me to amend my booking, bar physically attending the premises after 5pm on Friday. 2. Noise levels. As the dining area and dance floor effectively have no partitioning, it is nearly impossible to have a conversation over dinner. My friends and I actually got a bit hoarse from yelling at each other over the noise.
I suspect I would actually enjoy this establishment on quieter nights but will be avoiding on Friday and Saturday in the future. Thanks for a perfectly cooked steak though :)

Certainly great value for money and the food was delicious, however lacking in service and communication. Ordered cocktails as soon as we sat down but didn’t get them until we asked 45 minutes later. Ordered 2 x starters, received 1 starter and the other starter after the mains had already been brought out, again after being reminded we had ordered them.

Great to see my lovely Andi and other crew. Pie was delicious. Only one complaint, bring back the pink bubbles 👅👅!!

We are forty-something and we're a bit old for this scene. I was hoping for the food to be more themed to the era (it was a mismatched collection of burgers and salads, I think a couple of the cocktails were more vintage though)
The dining area was bordering on being too loud to hear a group conversation. Lady waitress there was awesome, but there were a couple of boys there who we couldn't catch attention from when we needed it. We ate heartily for a good price though, and I'm sure it would suit other groups better than us.

The venue was very noisy however, the staff were very helpful and found us a table on the balcony. That was good although no table service outside. The grass-fed beef pie was very disappointing. I have been there 4 times before and the pie was excellent each time which was why I took new friends there. The meat in the pie on this occasion included a lot of fat and gristle, making some of the meat inedible.

We were very impressed to find a different menu that was entirely gluten free. Loved the food and the service will definitely visit again.

I was unaware that there were so many GF options before coming in. I was super impressed and will definitely be back.

Excellent customer service, great food and good cocktails

Food was delicious, quick, came all at once and very filling. The only let down from the night is the way too loud music coming from the bar. Could not hear anyone talk at the table. We ended up eating quickly then leaving for somewhere quieter for dessert.

A good meal. With lots of options, particular for those with allergies. A little loud, and at times hard to communicate with our table. Good service.

Our son is Coeliac, so finding a Gluten free menu is gold for us. All items on their broad amazing GF menu are cooked separately as they should be, which is sooo GREAT. So many places have GF menu items, but cross contaminate in the cooking process which can be hard for us finding a suitable place for eating out.
I had their american burger which was awesome, others had veg salds and enjoyed those. A hit all round. Nice location in the CDB also.

We had dinner at Father's Office on NYE and it was amazing! The food is delicious and they cater for a wide range of dietary restrictions, including coeliac-safe gluten free options. They also had happy hour running multiple times throughout the night which was great value.

This is honestly the worst dining experience I've had in Melbourne. The speciality cheeseburger spring rolls tasted like chillie con carne, nothing like a cheeseburger. I ate half of one of the three serves and the waiter didn't even ask why. My daughter had a mocktail that was so sour it had to be sent back. They replaced it with a mocktail that was so sweet and thick it was line a pure syrup. I had the poke bowl salad for my main which was okay but bland, the additional popcorn chicken was a disgrace, tiny black balls or burnt dried chicken that tasted like dirt. My daughters fish was dry. She had a chocolate caramel tarte for desert and the pasty was so hard she couldn't eat it. Again no-one asked why this was left. My cocktail was okay so this might be an okay venue for drinks but I definitely wouldn't eat here. Very disappointed.

We were visiting from Adelaide and found your place on line. We checked out your menu but when we got there a complete different menu. Not a good start. The place was so noisy. We showed the waitress the menu on line ... she apologized...but we got the impression she didn't really care. My wife doesnt eat a lot so she asked if she could have the entree size lamb cutlets but with cooked vegetables as a main and was told yes. The meal arrived with lamb cutlets but no cooked vegetables only 2 pieces of lettuce. My meal was no better. I like good waitng service but to be asked 3 times if I would like another drink when I'm still drinking my first one is just money grabbing to me. The whole atmosphere was like they were catering for all young people in a night club atmosphere. We went for dinner and left very disappointed. Certainly wouldn't recomend your establishment.

It's a fantastic place for weekday lunches and also we enjoyed dinners there with friends.
The service is friendly and for dinner with friends the food came all out at the same time.
We loved it.

Terrible. We’ve been a number of times across the years.
Seems to have had a change in management? Definately staff.
Once seated we waited 5 mins for menus. Then another 5 for drinks order and we had to request water.
Once ordered, drinks came quick at least.
Only 3 wait staff from what I could count and the dining room way to busy for them.
After eventually got and finished mains, we might have had dessert but waiting for the empty plates to be cleared never happened, we waited 10 mins, we got up and paid the bill.
The table of two beside us were finished their meals and had empty plates in front of them. They were happy chatting but when we left, they were still there with the same plates in front. So over 1hr..they wernt seen to by one wait staff.
Just really disappointing. We used to like this place. Ur won’t be back.

This is usually my favorite place for lunch in the CBD. I have taken friends there several times in the past so I decided to arrange a lunch at Fathers Office for a reunion of old friends that meet infrequently. Especially as one friend is an enthusiast for meat pies. The meat pie did not disappoint, however, the noise level was so bad that it was impossible to hold a conversation across our table of six. I understand that it was the week before Christmas and there were many work groups celebrating the season but is there nothing you can do to improve the acoustics in the large dining area? I will lunch there again whenever I come up to town but will make sure it is during the low season as excellent food needs to be accompanied by good conversation.

Our plates were left on the table dirty for a long time. Desert was brought out, and in stead of clearing the plates they just tried to find a spot to put it among the dirty dishes. No cutlery was brought out for desert we had to ask/get it our selves.

There was only 4 other tables of people so it isn't like they were too busy.

The ribs, coleslaw and chips were delicious😝

God it was loud - big groups in main dining room including old men standing around drinking & talking about how 'important' they are. Wonderful service as always - Andi your absence was missed!

Overall a pleasant enough lunchtime experience however the music was much too loud making it difficult to converse. Several requests to lower the volume seemed to be ignored.

Team lunch at Father's Office, $15 lunch time specials to Wednesday - food and a drink - great value, quick and easy with excellent service. Their online system tracks what each indivdiual ordered and allows for individual payment. Pub style food ... pie, parma, steak, burger and other options, served with chips and salad and a drink. Good value!

Service was below average. Chose a cocktail and waiter proceeded to tell me it wasn’t a good choice as the cocktail wasn’t nice. Then we ordered a Parma that said it came with chips and salad on the menu but we only got chips and had to request a salad... which when we got that was only lettuce.
My friend ordered a steak rare and it was cooked well done and had to send it back. No apologies given, will a roll of the eyes from the waiter. We had been before and had a great meal and service. This time was very disappointing. Venue is nice, good location and good cocktails.

Not a great experience. Group of 10 for dinner and was absolutely taken aback by the noise level - not what I would call "Energetic". Even as we went up the stairs you could hear the hum and chatter. Could not even have a conversation with the person sitting next to you. Everyone was pretty happy with their meal but a mix up with one of our orders caused a bit of a problem. Basically could not get out of their quick enough.

Hate the idea of having to pay for non attendance - honestly think we would have gone somewhere else quieter if they were not holding my credit card details.

Not my first time here but just as good as the previous visits - I will be coming back.

A good staple but twice I’ve had the burger and it’s not been as hot as I would like it. Very noisy too but we did eat at happy hour time on a Friday night so was understandable.

Very happy. Delicious food. Great cocktails for a fair price. Little noisy and strangely the wait staff seated all diners at tables right next to each other despite plenty of room to spread them out. This could be improved upon so you aren't forced to eavesdrop on every table.
But otherwise great spot and i would definitely return.
Best for friends, drinks and bar food.

My steak was absolutely divine -thanks guys! My friend's gravy for her pie was sent back as it was watery and cold - the 2nd batch of gravy was exactly the same. Other than that, amazing experience - thanks Andy, you rock as always! - See you next week.

The prices were reasonable, food was decent and there was plenty of it but it was so loud that we really couldn't have a conversation. And we were there mid-week and the restaurant was not crowded. Some folks like that vibe, but we wanted to have a chat and weren't able to hear each other.

Fun night , noisy but great ambience. Wait staff super helpful regarding allergies.

Thanks to Andy for taking extra special care of us like he always does - I'm still sending the vegan aioli back and will continue to do so! Can't wait for the balcony to reopen - its been a while! :-)

By no means a terrible restaurant.... but!

The food was of low quality. The meals had flair, but the meat cooked was poor.
There are better options for the money and that where I would continue to.

Parmas, were not pub quality, steaks were small (Surf and Turf). The emptiness of the place spoke highly of it's offerings.
