It seems Farzi Cafe does it best to destroy itself by loudly playing horrendous pop music. Otherwise the food is good.

I went on a Monday evening so the place wasn’t too busy. Door staff were nice. The waiter forgot our drinks so food arrived first. When we told him, he put it down to our drinks order being lost at the bar. Food took a long time to come and when it arrived all of it was cold. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant where the food has been served that cold. No spoons were given to us so we had to make do with trying to fork stuff on to our plates. Presentation was poor and the food looked hastily put together. Nothing like the pictures I had viewed earlier. Also, we hadn’t ordered one dish that arrived at the table and when it came to billing time, it was still on the receipt. We complained about the food and service at the end but the waiter just said ‘I’m sorry you felt that way’ with no real conviction. All in all, really disappointed as had been looking forward to eating here after seeing such good reviews online. But I won’t be coming back here again or recommending to anyone, for sure.

The food was very disappointing, one dish really unappetising and it was vastly overpriced - 7 small sticks of asparagus for £7 as a starter. Our food was ordered together but not one plate came at the same time, roughly 5-10 mins apart so we did not eat together.
I am now suffering from a really nasty bout of gastroenteritis which I am in no doubt was a result of this dining visit.
The acoustics were so bad that despite sitting at a small table downstairs we were totally unable to hear each other over.

Good setting and ambience.
Food was overpriced in general
Wagyu beef cottage pie deconstructed could have been something special but turned out to be small chunks of beef with small wedge potatoes - really disappointing and too expensive for ever it was.
Would not wholeheartedly recommend

The food was amazing, the service was quite slow, we waited quite a while to order and a while for our main course that we almost missed our play. The manager was amazing though and accommodated us as much as he could. We will definitely be back. The food was incredible!

I recently chose Cafe Farsi to take someone for a special meal.
The ambience was excellent, we were seated downstairs as I wished for a more intimate dining table, it was quieter.

The food was excellent , in particular the wagu beef scotch egg!

Service was extremely attentive but the service charge is an eye watering £6.50?! That is very high indeed, far too much.

The price and portion size didn't seem right and that was certainly reflected in the bill!

I dine out in some pretty special places and although I loved the setting and food, the price was far too much for what it was.

Really good food.great ambience and very good service. It was only later I found out this was one of Jiggs Kalra's ventures. Having been to the ones in India this really does compare well with them. Food tastes authentic but the presentation is brilliant!! Thank you for a lovely experience.

It's a nice enough restaurant in a very touristy part of London, which being a Londoner is not always ideal..The food options are a nice twist compared to the standard Indian restaurants ..The staff are very friendly and attentive.... price point wise it's ok for London....if your in the area and fancy Indian food, it maybe worth popping in, and give it go!

I'd seen one of Farzi's dishes (the Masala rub steak) on TV recently (Channel 4's Sunday Brunch) where it received rave reviews. Although Haymarket wouldn't be my normal choice for dinner on a busy Saturday night, was keen to try it out. We received a warm reception from the moment we arrived and all staff were incredibly polite and attentive throughout. The menu has a good range and the dishes that we did try were done to perfection. The pricing felt fair and staff were great at menu recommendations. I'm looking forward to returning soon.

Food is good - modern take on Indian cuisine.
Service - friendly and very polite but not efficient. We asked for 2 bottles of beer and needed to cancel the order as they did not arrive and we were nearly done with our food. It took several hints to the staff to receive our bill...
The type of music played in the background could have been better.
Overall - not a bad experience but not sure if it was good value.

I got there early so started with a gin & tonic and vegetable crisps which were lovely with the delicious sauces. Accommodated a change in table and food was nice, but waiting staff didn’t understand the menu and ingredients. When I asked for another gin & tonic I got the gin and no tonic which i was told needed to be ordered separately which surprised me. I got the tonic eventually, but then three other waiters same to deliver the tonic that I had ordered!!! There were a lot of staff with undefined roles and we were confused about who to ask for what.

Pani pooris were delicious as were the arancini, baingan bartha and dal makhni. Coffee not great at all!

The food and ambience was excellent. Service let’s it down. Our waiter spoke very softly and not very clearly. Also waitress dropped several things on our table. Maybe nerves. But didn’t even mop up the water. I had to do it using napkins.

Food was delicious and the restaurant remembered it was a special occasion and brought out a piece of cake for our friend.

Great service but food didn't taste great at all. And the funny thing is we ordered the vegetable crisps which was told it's made at the restaurant. I had a bag of kettle vegetable crips in my bag and they were identical.

Food was cold, non of the dishes tasted great very bland.

Wont be going there again

The menu needs a bit of attention for vegetarian for the starter. There is no punch in starters that goes with drinks specially when you are gulping down your beer/cocktails. Also, the vegetarian mains are average by taste. Paneer popcorn was crispy and good. the only saving grace.

Been here twice now and the food is delicious, beautifully presented, and often a wonderful combination of originality and familiar tastes. The restaurant itself is also beautiful, and the music is good (if a tad loud). The only qualm I'd have is that, on our last visit, the service wasn't very good- the waitress often misheard or misunderstood us and seemed confused on more than one occasion (for example, saying that the drink I wanted was out of stock and recommending another one, then, when we said we'd order that not a minute later, she said that was also out of stock; then became confused and went to check).

Overall, this is a great restaurant with friendly staff and is good for just about any occasion, with an atmosphere that would be is classy yet energetic, and has a transferable ease suitable for family, romantic evenings, or even business dinners/lunches.
