Farm-to-table
Farmhouse is a Midwestern Craft Tavern focused on delivering warm hospitality, great beer and wonderful food in a comfortable neighborhood setting in the heart of River North. Focused on the Midwest, Farmhouse offers 28 beers on draft, 24 from Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan. Along with our Cider!

The menu ingredients are harvested from local farmers and change with the Midwestern seasons. Farmhouse offers locally sourced, pastured raised burgers, cuts their our own fries and makes almost everything from scratch on premise. We are a green tavern. 85% of the building materials, furniture and fixtures were salvaged from an abandoned factory on the South Side.

Some of the seating at Farmhouse consists of community tables, seating between eight and ten guests, encouraging a convivial atmosphere. Please be aware that smaller parties are sometimes seated at community tables.

They have a sizable craft beer selection. The cheese curds were tasty as was the risotto entree and the salmon entree. The s’more bread pudding was great.

This was a really good place to eat - it is very meat heavy - so maybe not ideal for a vegetarian. The food is delicious. The cheese/onion dip was great with the pretzel!!! The pickle jar was really interesting and reminded me of my grandmas.
The food was great.
The service was a little slow - I think that was because we were a big noisy group. It's cute and really nice - they were courteous and helpful with suggestions.

The venison ossobuco (spelling?) was outstanding, as was the hamburger with bacon and egg; risotto; the half chicken and gnocchi WOW. People were split on the macaroni and cheese, but some people just really only like the boxed stuff. *Sigh*. The Old Fashioned was "up to snuff". The restaurant is devoid of sound-absorbing material, so it can be rather loud. But it is BEAUTIFUL. We expect to be back

Second time at Farmhouse and the food was just as great as the first time. I had the salmon which was very well prepared and tasty. My guest had the Farro which he said was great as well. It was a little loud but I would definitely recommend Farmhouse.

Farmhouse is a relaxed pub-like restaurant with a warm ambience a wonderfully prepared fresh food. The staff is attentive without being overbearing. Farmhouse manages to be great, without appearing to try too hard. It works. I recommend it...for brunch, lunch, or dinner.

Farmhouse is always solid. The menu is a little smaller but the quality of what you get and they options they have are all fantastic. The cheese curds are some of the best I’ve had outside of Wisconsin. A MUST visit!

Very cute atmosphere. Went here for Chicago Restaurant Week 2020, mostly because the brunch menu seemed appealing - was very pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was attentive and friendly without being overbearing, and the food was fantastic. All of their food is sustainably sourced, and they even have their own farm that provides for the restaurant - how cool!

We typically dine at Farmhouse 1-2x a year. ALWAYS awesome. The burgers are in my top 5 in Chicago. Price is very reasonable and the meals, food, quality and service are a great value. Because this is all locally sourced I wish the Bourbon selection was a bit more adventurous but this is really a great destination for a great, casual dining experience.

True neighborhood gem. Had never been so I had no expectations. Food is fresh and homemade tasting: Chicken soup and buffalo chicken sandwich -- delicious. Friendly attentive staff. Support this gem!

Great restaurant week experience. The menu is a real deal. Eat here before it ends if at all possible. Deep fried cheese curds and short rib mac and cheese were fantastic! Kale salad and chicken were good too, but if you can blow your diet, go for the good stuff.

Their cheese curds = perfection. I ordered the brisket mac and cheese, which was good but very heavy and oily - I regretted my decision. (Why didn't I get the chicken?) My partner ordered a salad with added salmon and ate every bite (although he noted that the salmon serving was smaller than anticipated for th price) . Overall, good atmosphere and food. Seemed a bit overpriced - would feel like a better value if a small salad or side came with each entrée. It's nearby for us in River West, so we'll likely give it another try.

THis is the second time i have sat at the 4 top at the back by the wait station. Today, a waiter was very unhappy about working brunch and we all felt it every time he walked up to the station. Just made us want to get out fast unfortunately.

Pretty disappointed in Farmhouse. A group of us went for restaurant week. Nothing special about anything except for the brownie dessert. Server was super nice, but service was slow.

We had been here before for dinner, which was great! This time we went for brunch during restaurant week. The cheese curds were delicious, and the main brunch entrees were large. Our waitress Paula was very good. We’ll be back.
