At Fancy Hank's we serve American-style, slow cooked BBQ, using the finest quality free range meats, cooked using our custom-built, 2-tonne smoker. Brisket, ribs and pulled-pork sit alongside the traditional sides as well as a number of unique dishes. We use traditional Southern cooking techniques and combine these with local produce to put our uniquely Australian spin on this regional American cuisine.

Had a dinner with some work friends. Kind of disappointing to be honest, as the brisket was so dry, and the pork ribs tasted more like ham than Juicy ribs. Barely any basting on the ribs, well cooked but I get better ribs from a local pizza shop, for half the money. They should be blasted heavily, falling off the bone, but these were dry and tender more like a well cooked ham than ribs.. service was great, and I will try it once more but was disappointed this time around..

We had a 5 pm booking and were told at the time that we would need to vacate the table by 6.30 pm. We were then told 3 more times about leaving the table. It became very annoying. I found the service to be lacking regarding information about the menu.

I took a couple of out of towners here for dinner and they havent stopped talking about it ever since. The food was fantastic. so creative and so tasty. The service was efficient and friendly. A great night out.

The bottomless brunch was a fantastic event and experience. The food was extraordinary and great value. The ‘bottomless’ options were amazing - loved the grapefruit mimosa. Had cocktails later in the afternoon and these were amazing... love the blue gin one! Atmosphere and vibe was relaxed, befitting the gorgeous sunny day; the DJ was a lot of fun too. The staff really made the day. Professional, friendly and attentive - Cate, Oli, Ed, James upstairs as well as the FH team. Will definitely be back.

Group of five got the meatmaster special, everything was great but there was nowhere near enough food to justify $70 a head. Multiple shared sides and barely enough to go around.

Would avoid the platters next time and order individually.

Thank you Fancy Hank’s for a lovely night! Our waitress helped us decide an appropriate amount of food and she was spot on. Mac and Cheese was a highlight as was the Cauliflower! All the meat was perfect.

Nice ambiance, cool upstairs bar, good selection of bbq items and a decent beverage list. The food was nice and the quality of ingredients was high but just felt like some of the meals lacked seasoning and a bit of oomph considering the price.

Some things unecessary ie maple butter in the biscuit.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday. We had preordered a rack of pork ribs (recommend to preorder because it sells out) and ordered the pitmaster set menu as well. Be warned the pitmaster has a huge amount of food. The pork ribs were very flavourful and tender. In the pitmaster menu everything was delicious but in particular the cornbread, pulled pork and brisket. If you're coming here for lunch try not to sit against the window as it can get quite hot on a sunny day.

Fantastic service from the outset. The food was delicious we enjoyed the brisket, special (trout), sausage, mac 'n cheese and cauliflower. Great beer, great atmosphere and good value. Would highly recommend.

$14 dollars for an Asahi "pint" that measures in at approx 400ml.
There were regular pint glasses in the rack, enquired why that glass wasn't being used to be informed that all Asahi must be served in the Asahi glass.
200ml profit per serve- nice touch.
Had the beefmaster for 3 people, paid for 4 (fair enough, thats what it said on the menu) but waited approx 40 minutes between 1st and 2nd serve- way too long.
Sausage was drastically undercooked too.
Brisket was dry.
Chicken was overcooked and burnt.
On the upside. the cornbread was great as was the pulled pork.
We last visited when you were across from the market, and had been looking forward to the return.
Unfortunately, mass production seems to have made you drop the ball somewhat.
No doubt you are swimming in the cash you are making, which is great for business, but it won't help with your return clientel ratio.

Since the move to Bourke St, the place has lost its vibe. The menu changes are disappointing. You used to be able to get a chopping board full of meats for 1 person and now it's a 4 person minimum.
Upon being seated we were told "this table is booked for 730 so you need to be out by then"
Waiter was not really able to articulate menu items, before the menu had pictures and was self explanatory. Now you're also forced to ask the cost of the meats, why? Because there's no pricing on the menu for meats.
To sum it up, the place now feels like its trying to be an upmarket restaurant instead of the great vibrant and popular atmosphere it used to be.
Disappointed.

I took three work friends to lunch on Friday, we had a look at the lunch menu and decided to go with the $38pp lunch special ($152) , given the price we expected a lot of food.

When the food arrived we assumed what was served was for two people but it was for all four, we asked the waiter who apologised and said that’s for four.

For $152 we received a small bowl of chips which are $13 roughly on their own, a side of coleslaw and potatoe salad both $12 and one piece of corn bread, for four people. That leaves roughly $120 worth of meat.

For $120 worth of meat, I expect a bit, yet we received roughly 200g of brisket and 400g of pulled pork. All four of us were fuming, and will be letting our friends know how grossly overpriced the restaurant is.

Food was hit and miss - the pumpkin pudding and Citrus Sorbet were phenomenal. Can't rave about them enough... burnt ends were good too. By no means the best I've ever had, but decent. Short rib was unfortunately incredibly fatty, and the sides we ordered - Mac n Cheese, Potato Salad and Fries were nothing special.
The homemade lemonade was great though!!! Service was fantastic!!! Would go back for the dessert for sure :)

Meat wasn’[t necessarily hot, more cool to to the touch immediately after hitting the table. Amount of meat vs price are much better elsewhere. 4 person minimum for fixed menu is very restricting and makes it very much more expensive. That being said, the actual meat etc was very tasty.
