Faith & Flower
The restaurant, food, ambiance and service overall was great, as always. By service, I mean the people who brought the food out to us. Our actual server, Lyndsey S. was the worst. It took forever for her to do anything - from taking our drink orders, delivering the drinks, taking our food order, coming around to check on our table, and everything. She never once apologized. The restaurant was busy, but not THAT busy. It was a Tuesday night! We asked her to help take a picture of us at one point, and she said “ok I’ll be right back.” And then never came back to take the picture. She didn’t apologize for it. And it never registered to her that she never came back to take the picture. We love the dessert here, but by that point, we were so over her terrible service, we just had our credit cards ready and handed them to her. We were a party of 3, so it wasn’t a big table or difficult. We didn’t request any substitutions and had easy orders! We just didn’t get it. She should be fired and should never be a server anywhere nice. Lyndsey should work behind a register at a drive thru where no one can see her scowling face.
The restaurant and food itself was amazing though! And other servers we’ve had here have always been very attentive and great!
Probably the best meal I have had in Los Angeles. But the noise level was unacceptable. There is no acoustic mitigation in the room at all, only all hard surfaces. It really shows. A group of women were cutting up across the way from us, being super loud and it was literally deafening. They tried to seat a table next to them and they refused it was so loud. For a $200 check, I should not have to scream across the table. Even after they left it was still too loud for my taste. That being said though, I will still return. I hope the noise is mitigated next time.
Great food, a little pricey but worth it. Shareable menu options would recommend 3 dishes shared amongst 2 people
I loved the vibe but the wait time to be seated was a little long although we made a reservation but the short rib I ordered was amazing! And the service was Great!!
Great menu, ambiance, service and vibe. For downtown LA, this is a great place to eat, meet with friends or colleagues with plenty of space in a delightful atmosphere.
Inside was too loud for our group to enjoy; the night we sat outside was much better
Terrible service and value. We were charged for water which came in $6 bottles after being given the option of sparkling and still (we chose still). Our food wasn’t coursed; everything came at the same time despite being told we needed order everything immediately so it could be coursed. Had to find our own silverware as well, lol
We had a reservation for a high table. We got a low table in the dining room instead of the bar. We ordered drinks and it took 20 minutes to be served. Our waiter was amazing and our food was amazing.
This place is way over priced . Good food but not worth the price.
They sat us next to the bar. Really noisy, so many people walking by.
Terrible beers, no name brands. Gotta have name brands Heineken, stela ... ect.
Wonderful venue, server was delightful, attentive and helpful. Food was delicious and some different tastes, a nice surprise. Good variety of wines both. I'll be back.
Dinner prior to theatre. Rum punch excellent. Deviled eggs not great , as was crusted sea bass. Crudo good , short rib also. None of other dishes were memorable
Outstanding food and experience. But..... our heater kept turning off. We had to keep asking for it to be turned back on. Other than that it was great
We ordered 4 items to share (honestly, three would have sufficed). One dish we really didn’t like. There was nothing “wrong” with it, and the description on the menu was intriguing. However, it just didn’t come together in a way that we enjoyed. We made no mention of it to our server, but he noticed we’d only taken two bites of it and so we came clean; we told him we just didn’t like it. He kindly, and without us asking, removed it from the bill. Afterward, the manager/owner (?) came by to offer me another drink. I was driving so I turned it down, but was grateful for the offer.
Our other dishes were excellent, the service was outstanding and I really enjoyed the “look” of the place. Outstanding service/policy handling a dish we didn’t like and didn’t ask any special treatment for. Would most definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
We flew in to celebrate my son’s 21st birthday. From the get-go everything was fabulous. Our server was super nice and helpful, attentive without being “in your face” , Cocktails and wine were superb. We especially liked the fact that they had a decent sized selection of GOOD half bottles. Our food was just delicious - not a single thing was left untouched. Oysters were the best I’ve had in a while (and I live half the year on a beach that supplies some
beautiful oysters) We had one very unadventurous eater so we ordered the steak to be safe and ensure he had something he would like...well... I was pushing the steak on everyone else as he was trying everything and declaring it all delicious! A lovely final touch was the trio of desserts with candles for my son. He doesn’t like a big scene but he loved the low key acknowledgement - a huge thank you to the staff for reading it right!!
F & F is a marvelous place to take out of town visitors and a great hang just with old friends. One of my top spots in downtown LA.
The food itself was a bit underwhelming. Service was excellent as was the ambiance. A bit loud, but that’s the area.
The food was ok but we were in the mood for brunch food and didn’t realize that was server only on weekends. Ended up having a chicken sandwich for breakfast. Kinda disappointing.
The Heirloom Tomato Salad is truly incredible, as was the Seared Salmon.
Vibe and food were good but overall not worth the tab
Always excellent and the sommelier is outstanding!
Ambiance : vintage with a touch of modern! Love the green glasses on the table as well as the plants and wall decors! This place is very roomy and has a bar section.
Food: AMAZING!!! From the appetizer to the dessert I had no complaint on my dish.. If you like meat I highly suggest the NY steak tartare, it’s a tad salty my partner would say but it was prefect to me! The wine braised beef was definitely SAVORY and soft to eat, it was a big portion too therefore you can give half of it to someone you’re dining with or take it home. As for the plancha sea bass, the sauce that came with it didn’t mix well. The wood oven Japanese potatoes were very TASTY, it had white and purple and the sauce was off the hook!!The sea bass itself was delicious because it had the crispy skin to it, I wished that the squash was a little bit softer. As for dessert we got the peach flambé, your waiter would bring a cart out and will make it in the front of you which is pretty cool. But the taste of it was YUMMMY to our tummy!!
Drinks: I highly recommend the English milk punch, not too sweet yet has that alcohol punch to it. There old fashioned is pretty good too!!
Service: Our waitress Angela T. Beyond AMAZING!!! She kept tab on us making sure we were enjoying our dinner and gave us options on things we weren’t familiar!!!
I came here with my brother while on vacation for the weekend. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very clean. The food was excellent, and the service was superior. We ordered a salad with grapes, apples, and candied walnuts, which was incredible. For mains, we went for the bacon-wrapped pork and the mushroom risotto. The pork was good, but the risotto was awesome! The portions are pretty generous as well, so even though you’re sharing, two mains is more than enough for two people. I can’t remember my server’s name, but I appreciated the attentive yet not pushy service. I liked that the bussers came over and regularly cleared off the dirty plates we no longer needed. It was not a super busy night, but the crowd was trendy and the place energetic. We loved it!
Food and wine recommendations were spot on! Service was just the right level, without being intrusive. Make sure you try the chocolate dessert for a closer. This is one of the best places to enjoy "shared plates" style of eating.
Customer service - we make a mistake and made our reservation for the wrong day. The hostess did not hesitate to accommodate us on the right evening at very short notice.
We loved everything about it. Amazing, amazing, amazing!
It was just ok. I probably wouldn’t return if I had to pay. I expected more for the price. Portions are irregular—some dishes are definitely sharable but some are not.
All good, putting this one on repeat 👍🏽
Fabulous dinner. Great service. Gilberto was incredibly helpful.
The whole experience was great... Me and my husband went last night on our Sunday date. And we enjoyed the whole time we was there. Our server was the best her smile was radiant and very beautiful. Her energy was positive and very contagious. We enjoyed her recommendations especially when she picked the perfect drink for me.. I'm not a big drinker but she understood my request and came back with a drink that I absolutely love and would most definitely would order that again. The food was delicious everything was well prepared... My hats is off to the chef.. The food was prepared with love.
I might be bias, as I live in the same build that Faith and Flower is located. Which is to say, it is incredibly convenient. But it is also one of the best places to have brunch, lunch, dinner and happy hour in Los Angeles. F&F has options for all types of clients, be they vegan, paleo and regular diners.
One of the best things is the cocktail menu. They make a mean Old Fashion! In fact, they have a menu on that single cocktail. The food is terrific and so is the service staff. I recommend Faith and Flower to all those that enjoy a lovely dining experience.
We had an excellent Sunday brunch. The interior was quiet and pleasant.
Birthday celebration! Excellent food and service. Definitely follow wait staff recommendations on what to order. My favorites were milk punch, watermelon-Tomato salad, oxtail agnolotti, tempura green beans, mashed potatoes, salmon en croute, skirt steak.
When making my reservation I mentioned it was our anniversary. Faith + Flower made it so special by providing some bubbly to end the evening. Their oysters are so good. My girlfriend is a chef and she had nothing but amazing things to say about the Pork tenderloin, broccoli and my mushroom risotto was so good!
This was my second experience at Faith & Flower and the first for my guest. It didn’t disappoint. The meal was delicious, except for the broccolini, which is not my preference anyway. It would have been sufficient just to enjoy the Little Gem Salad as our vegetable. The braised short rib and potato puree were excellent, as was the ceviche. My friend doesn’t drink alcohol, but I enjoyed the English Milk Punch. . . very interesting and tasty. Of course, dinner isn’t complete there without the chocolate mousse bombe for dessert.
We were there for a pre-theater dinner, which we had enjoyed on a previous occasion. About half way through our meal, we were requested to physically move our table about three feet to the right in order to accommodate a group of 12-15 that were seated to our left. This move resulted in us being squashed against a wall. The staff did apologize and, after rushing us through the rest of our meal, brought us a dessert plate on the house, which we would not have ordered and did not want.
Both salads that we ordered, Little Gem and Summer Squash & Artichoke, we’re delicious and beautifully presented. The Seared Sea Bass was delicate and flavorful. The sauce on the Jidori Chicken was too thick and ruined the chicken. The duck breast was very disappointing- not very tasty.
The experience was well worth it! The menu was not very long. It's a restaurant that I would go back to of friends wanted to but I wouldnt choose. It's not bad just not a top 5
It was so amazing food was the best! Drinks on point!!!
Great service, great food!
Overpriced food, ambience was good, service was slow, waitresses recommended 4 dishes for 2 people. That was overkill. Date turned out well though :)
Great atmosphere and jazz night was a welcomed touch.
