Always an excellent experience. Great food and service.
Our first visit was excellent on all counts. Second was complete opposite. Friends are sharing the same with me. Hope they get this beautiful restaurant back on track. Bad experience this last time.
We love this restaurant. The food is wonderful. The wait staff varies on quality. We have had several very good and personable waiters in past visits. This time we did not.
came highly rated but the food was so so. The waitstaff was great and very attentive.
I will temper my review by saying I've dined frequently in all of Julian Barsotti's venues and had the highest expectations for this one, it's not.
After all of the reviews on service that was the biggest let down. Old school professionalism was short of the mark . Tuxedos don't make a pro! Our youthful waiter seemed to lack confidence and was not engaging nor helpful. My wive and I shared an egg plant appetizer , he cut the sections and then left the spoon on the plate; a pro would have taken a spoon and fork and divided it to both guest.
Asking a question on the wine he really had no depth nor did he seek assistance.
My wive's Fra Diavolo was well prepared and generous on lobster . I has veal parmesan , the bone was the best part , as puting red sauce over crisp crust is not to my liking. Malianse would have been my preference. This is a homage to red sauce so I should have anticipated that.
As I said knowing these restaurants my critique is based on my standards not what less critical diners would experience.
Excellent experience as always ! i love this place for a dinner date with my hubby or a girls night dinner :)
Fachini has a great ambiance and feel as you as you walk in. We got the mussels and the rolled eggplant for appetizers, which were excellent. The mussels had a great flavor, we especially loved the sauce. The eggplant was great. There was good eggplant flavor with the cheese.
For the mains, we got the 100 layer lasagna and the fried angel hair. Both my wife and I felt that neither of these were worth the money.
We got the tiramisu for dessert, but this was also nothing to write home about.
The ambiance was good for our anniversary, but the food could have been better.
We always enjoy an evening at Fachini!
Service was attentive and friendly, but a bit on the over talkative. The freshness of the food was great. As for authentic old school Italian American, we all agreed it’s a 3. Not bad, but not great. We may go again, but still searching for a great true Italian restaurant in the Dallas area.
Service was distracted & glacial. I waited for a Martini 15 minutes. Bad start. Food was solid & good. Love the room. But I expect 4 star service at this price. Especially Bar to Table.
This is my first time writing a review as I have never had such a terrible experience as this one - even at restaurants were things are not great, I usually give everyone the benefit of the doubt, however - the Bartender At Fachini - his name is RJ, was so incredibly rude we will never go back to Fachini which is in our neighborhood.
My husband and I had a later reservation which we do every Saturday night at a new DALLAS restaurant. Fachini was highly talked about by my neighbors and so I made our typical late night res at Fachini.
We arrived as reserved at 9:30pm. We chose Bar seating which we usually enjoy as we love craft cocktails etc.
The bar tender was clearly in a bad mood when we sat down. He did not smile, say hello or even greet us. He looked at us and did not offer any suggestions etc. so we assumed well, he’s having a difficult evening....He had another bar tender helping as well and what appeared to be a bar back.
We order a Vodka Martini and an old fashioned.
Drinks were made and brought over.
He then said “are you ready” I had questions about the menu which he was “put off” answering and also questions about a salad - he was not helpful...
As he was making another drink in front of us, I asked him about the Campari and Aperol bottles and asked him what he usually makes or what popular... he looked at me “rolled his eyes” and started to rudely explain a popular drink - in friendly banter I lightly ex
Food was lovely. So it is a real shame.
The lasagna is out of this world! Super food and service
A pleasant experience, had not been to this iteration of this restaurant. Some years back had a different name and owners. We had a pleasant dinner, most memorable was the excellent service and very nice atmosphere. The table side Cesar salad was unique in many years, it was or is the customary way of preparing it in Mexico
Great tucked away place for an intimate meal Tuxedoed staff are super attentive. The bread and burrata that great you as soon as you are seated are amazing. The wine list is nice, but note the lowest priced bottle is around $60. The Caesar salad was good, but the greens could have been more crisp and the table-side preparation should include actual anchovies in my view. But super generous on freshly ground cheese. The 100-layer lasagna is certainly enough to share between two, maybe even three people.
Italian awesomeness. Antipasti was to die for. Everyone must taste the 100 layer lasagna. It was the ultimate experience in a fine dining experience, from the wine all the way down to the Dyptique candle in the ladies restroom!
Food is always great and as usual our service was awesome!!!!
We enjoyed our dinner. There were a few surprises with our food. No where on the menu did they mention the use of red pepper flakes or the spiciness of the food. Both of our entrees had a lot of red pepper flakes and was too spicy for us. Had we had a better description of what was in the food, we would have ordered differently.
Everything was great! Food, wine, service, atmosphere. It was my first time, but i'll definitely be back.
I went to Fachini during Restaurant Week with two friends. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service was outstanding! The only thing I would say is that they had to close the heavy drapes in the dining room due to the summer heat and sun and I thought it darkened the dining room too much and felt dreary. I understand why they had to do that, so I'll return in the fall or winter when the drapes can be left open.
It was a wonderful dinner, however, we were disappointed it was restaurant week and was not able to order from menu.
We dined for Restaurant Week. In our party of six, opinions about the food ranged from mediocre to very good. The server was too talkative for my personal taste, but others at our table enjoyed his banter. Likewise, one person in our group found the room to be stylish and elegant, while I was not overly impressed.
Only one suggestion change the color of the table cloths. Maybe to a red or a black would for in better and tone the room down making for a perfect setting .
The food and wine was great for a Sunday evening dinner. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We had Claims and lasagna. Cooked to perfection. Appetizer was mussels and brochette , with figs, which stated our dinner.
Our only downfall was the very loud gentleman spewing political overtones. While this is not a refection on the restaurant, this single gentleman seem to go out of his to ensure he was heard from one end of the restaurant to the other. It wan't even what he said but just how he keep going on an on.
the restaurant was still a great place to eat and next time we will just asked to be moved to a ore comfortable position.
This is my favorite restaurant in Dallas! The food is always incredible. The lasagna is not too saucy and then they add a dollop of ricotta on top which makes it superb. Steak is perfectly cooked. The salads I have tried ( beet salad and the prosciutto, fig and peach salad) are beyond comparison to other restaurants. They know how to balance and combine flavors very well. The desserts: tiramisu, carrot cake and chocolate panna cotta are all amazing but surprisingly the chocolate panna cotta is my favorite. It is not overly sweet to make a perfect end to the meal. Finally, the bartenders also know what they are doing. I had a gin cocktail that had muddled/blended arugula making for a very fresh cocktail.
Outstanding and friendly service. Above and beyond friendly and helpful hostess stand. Very good linguini and clams. Best mussels I have ever had. Great carrot cake.
Hit the jackpot, great experience all around, casual dress but upscale experience
We loved everything about Fachini. The food was amazing. I had the watermelon salad to start- I don't really even like watermelon that much, but this salad was delicious. Then I ordered the lasagna as my main course. It was every bit as good as I had heard- fabulous! Highly recommend this restaurant. We live down the street- can't believe I haven't been here before now. Can't wait to go back
Enjoyed it! A nice start to restaurant week :)
We knew it being restaurant month we would not be allowed to linger but our waiter was a bit snippy twice when he wanted to take our orders and we were enjoying our cocktails. There were still open tables when we did leave. I will go back for the food and hope the service is with a better attitude.
Fachini was amazing. Everything we ordered was fabulous and we ate every bit of it! I had the mussel appetizer, and my friend had the prosciutto and fig salad. Both were delicious. Main course of linguine with clams was so flavorful without being over sauced. The other entree ordered was the flounder and it was amazing. Service was as fabulous as the food. I’ve already booked reservations to return with my husband. Can’t wait!
The food was delicious and the service was great!
The service and food was beyond outstanding. The 100 layer lasagna was perfect and the half size pasta option was great so we could try a few different kinds!
Excellent food with a different twist on the classic Italian dishes.
This visit was my first opportunity to dine at Fachini. The meal and service were fantastic ! This restaurant is now one of my top five restaurants in Dallas.
The food at Fachini was absolutely fantastic. The off-menu squash blossom appetizer was inventive and flavorful and each of our entrees were amazing. We had the 100 layer lasagne, which did not disappoint. The layers of pasta were so delicate and very well-balanced with the delicious filling. The lobster dish was other-worldly with such a beautiful presentation. Excellent from the first bite to the last!
Server Jack M. was incredible, as was the food.
Food was excellent and so was service. It was nota "wow" but it was very good. Pricey. Great waiter, Rico. But the noise level is intolerable even at 9:30 pm. Am not likely to return because of noise. I would recommend that a friend go with 3 others, order the 100 layer lasagna split it then split 2 main courses.
