Beautiful experince in the Signature Restaurant. 5 course tasting menu was delicious. Wine matching worked well and we didn't have to think about what to choose off the wine list! Staff were knowledgeable and attentive. It was an expensive lunch but well worth it for a special occasion. Will be back to try the all day dining.

The five course degustation was superb - complex flavours and textures, with every course having its own strengths. We did a wine tasting with Paul before lunch, and he took care of our wine questions over lunch as well - he was incredible with his passion and knowledge, down to knowing which forest in France the wood for the barrels came from! We were let down a bit with our waiter, who clearly invested more time on another table and left us unattended for long lengths of time. At this price point, we shouldn't have to walk to the counter to ask for our bill.

My fiance and i recently celebrated our anniversary at Levantine Hill. Having been to Ezard in the CBD we knew we were going to be in for a treat! Nothing short of amazing id just like to thank the team for hosting us and making it such a wonderful experience. Will definately be back!

Three of us had lunch, last Sunday. Whilst expensive, the food was exceptional. The portion sizes and the space between courses meant that it wasn’t rushed and could comfortably fit in all the dishes.
The service from John was outstanding - right up to the point where he had to finish up, with two courses remaining. From then on the service fell off the cliff. The remaining staff were inattentive and hard to find. We had to prompt them for coffee, otherwise we looked like missing out. Not good enough for a restaurant of this caliber!

Having been recommended by a couple of people as a place to take a special someone for a lovely dining experience, I was excited to say the least. Everything held up and exceeded my expectations. The surprise little touch of the birthday message on the dessert plate topped off the superb 5 courses (and mine was vegetarian) and delicious signature sparking wine that we had.

First 2 dishes too similar in presentation with broth being poured. Uninspired.
Pork belly was way too fat with poor presentation.
Beef texture wasn't refined, it was coarse visually.
Butter should be truffle butter to make the bread a winner.
Female server mumbled and spoke too fast through description of each dish.
We found the pacing of food way too slow between each dish.

The winner in the entire lunch was the salted caramel ice cream.

Food was lovely. Unfortunately we were a table of 2 situated amongst 3 tables of 4 people with a couple of the tables very rowdy. Did ruin our experience and feel that perhaps in future you could situate tables of 2 a little away from the bigger tables. The restaurant wasn't full and this could have been done fairly easily I feel. Wines were lovely as well particularly the Pinot Noir - really loved this!

Let’s be honest, this is a premium experience with a price to match. So if you are wanting to have an indulgent and incredible meal with staff who are friendly and knowledgeable as well as make you feel relaxed, then you won’t be disappointed. Our Danish guests regularly visit high end restaurants and rated this up with the best...and so did we. Levantine Hill does the Yarra Valley proud.

We traveled from the Gold Coast to visit the winery and the restaurant. Ezard exceeded our expectations. The food was suburb accompanied by wonderful service from Lachlan and the team. It was a special lunch.

We opted for the 8 course degustation with premium wine match. The food was delicious and wine was exceptional. I loved the Colleens Paddock Pinot Noir. A great afternoon.

We had a lovely lunch at the Signature restaurant. The food was elegant but tasty. The wine was thoughtfully matched. We particularly enjoyed the crusty sourdough and house made butter.

We really enjoyed our whole Ezard experience. The food and wines were excellent. The Maitre'D was organised and welcoming and made us feel valued. Our waiter was excellent. His knowledge of the food and wine were quite outstanding as he was able to guide our wine choices and food matching.

It was a very special night for our guests as well.

Foods and wines were great. The services from the waiting staff were also good. They were knowledgeable and polite. The only problem is the kitchen. It took us 3.5 hours to get our 5 course meal (there is no freebies or short inter-course snacks). While we expect a relatively casual/relaxing meal for our New Year lunch, the meal service took way too long.

Great meal overall. On the expensive side though. The only criticism is that the croquette that came with the Wagyu Beef dish was very underseasoned. The sauce was outstanding though and redeemed the whole dish.

I took my family (and partner and a friend) here on a visit to the Yarra Valley.

The food was decent, but for the price not good enough.
For example, my extra Wagyu course had an extremely salty jus.

Wine pairings were ok, but also not outstanding.

For me, I think the desert was probably the best performer, despite desert mostly being my least favourite course.

I haven't been to the other Ezard in Melbourne so I can't compare.

Summary: Delightful location. Food rather disappointing, especially for the price.

The 5 course degustation was somewhat underwhelming, with at least 2 being under par. A dish of kipfler potatoes with a few leaves of interesting plants was particularly bland, not rescued by the theatre of arriving under a steaming dome. A very pleasant apple sorbet nestled on typically overly sweet white chocolate crumbs. In general, the courses lacked strong flavours. The 2nd dish, a slice of duck breast was delicious. Artistic presentation that lacked substance.

Very poor service considering the restaurant was not busy. We weren’t even provided with cutlery until after our first course had been given to us. We had to ask for bread and the wine took ten minutes to come out to us. All of the food was served too cold, especially the duck and then the potato course.

Disappointing. Have visited ezard in the city over 20 times. Have visited ezard at levantine hill once before however for dinner.
Whilst I appreciate that fine dining usually offers small tasting plates, the 5 course menu was incredibly small and almost a joke for the price. It would be ok if the food was outstanding but it wasn't. It was brilliant on our last visit. It also doesn't feel very special when you have the noisy customers from the restaurant next to you right there.
The staff were all over the place. We practically had to beg for extra bread. We needed it to fill up since the meals were so small. Also whilst the wait staff were folding napkins for other guests when they guests went to the toilet they didn't do this for us once.
The food was ok, the apple sorbet for dessert was amazing. But the chestnut vanilla sauce on the duck was like a dessert and visually unappealing.
Ezard in the city holds so many memories for me. Sadly I wouldn't return to ezard at levantine hill. I left there feeling disappointed and like I wasted $500+. We were so hungry afterwards that we stopped at Yarra valley dairy and ate 2 cheese platters between 3 of us! They should give you an idea of how hungry we were afterwards.

Everything was great, the wait-staff are friendly, engaging, the sommelier very knowledgeable and willing to share his knowledge. The food was sensational, just what I expect from Ezard. We love the atmosphere of the place, and the surrounding scenery. Our visitors from overseas, who are restaurateurs themselves, were most impressed, so kudos for an overall fine dining experience.

My only very minor complaint is that the meal took a long time to complete - we started at 1 pm and finished around 4.30pm. Perhaps it is our fault for not mentioning to the staff that we would like to finish our meals quicker, but once we let staff know we need to leave by 4.30pm, they brought the last two courses out very quickly, so we cannot fault the responsiveness of the wait staff.

We are happy and will come back again for another special occassion or when we have visitors to impress.

My wife and I had a delicious 8 course degustation meal with complementary wines. Although expensive, it was a special occasion and we were treated with the utmost care by the staff, whose knowledge of the food and wine was exceptional. I highly recommend the throughly enjoyable culinary experience.

The food was magnificent BUT even for a degustation menu the serving sizes were very disappointingly small. For example 1 small slice of duck and 1 small slice of pork belly were ridiculously small courses for the price charged. Furthermore the wait time between courses was excessive and the restaurant was only 3/4 full.
Went home hungry which should not happen when you pay $320/head for the food and wine

Ambiance was amazing - staff was so polite and non-pretentious. We had the 8 course menu and everything on the menu was SPOT ON. We fine dine regularly and this place is now on out top 5 list. Highly recommended!
