Evarito's Mexican Kitchen & Bar
"Evarito’s Mexican Kitchen and Bar is a contemporary concept that brings to life a bold spin on the kitchens of Mexico and the Southwest. Evarito’s is a multifaceted venue in which customers feel both welcome and intrigued as they select their choice of locations between the fire-lit dining room & bar or the stunning rooftop lounge. Our outdoor patio on the plaza will return in early July after an amazing makeover...stay tuned for details.
The Rooftop does not accept reservation requests. All reservations will be located in our beautiful main dining room on the street level. Please feel free to inquire about rooftop availability upon your arrival.
Brought in 4 friends from Sweden who had a preconceived and not so great desire or understanding of “Mexican” cuisine or that genre of restaurant. As I knew, Evaritos turned that around rather quickly from the warm welcome from the host, hostess and staff at the entry to the perfect table to the outstanding prickly pear margaritas with delectable house made paper thin chips and freshly made guacamole.
The food was terrific, we did plates and fajitas and fish tacos. The mushroom fajita is SPECTACULAR. if you like mushrooms you will be amazed at how a mushroom can be elevated into so juicy and grilled flavor.
Loved all the spices. The interior itself is a modern chic and stylish take with terrific lighting fixtures and tiled accents everywhere. Very upscale feel with out the price tag. The staff are always friendly, attentive and on top of things.
It’s always a pleasure to be here, eat here and have a great upper but relaxing fun time. Thank you! Can’t wait for summer to get back to the rooftop and I understand you might have seating by the fountain in the park? Wonderful. Makes me feel how much fun it is living in South Norwalk and the quality of all the great restaurants we have here. Evarito’s is def in the top class of fun, casual and easy dining and a brilliant addition to the Sono dining scene overall. Always looking forward to coming back. Thank you!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Our waiter Leon was outstanding! Great service and delicious food. Would definitely recommend!
The food is delicious, service are amazing. The only thing is all cocktails should had little bit more alcohol because I have 3 and none of them tasted like virgin cocktails. If I wanna have a good nice dinner meal I would love also have nice cocktails drinks. Overall is good
Went to dinner at about 7:30 with my husband last night and ran into friends who just happened to be there. Sat down together at a table in front of the very cool looking gas fireplace. Nice and cozy on a cold evening. We started with some house cocktails...I highy recommend the Foggy Oasis and the Spicey Margarita...lots of tequila and mezcal on the menu! We ordered the guacamole and chips and a musroom and cheese quasidilla with a verde mole on the side for apps. Guac was delicious...chunky, plenty of cilantro and lime and just the right amount of heat. My husband had the pork chop special with jalapeno mashed potatos and a thick slice of pork belly bacon on the side. The glazed pork chop, perfectly cooked had great flavors! I had the veggie fajitas which came with a cilantro cream and red salsa. The tortillas came out fresh, hot and the right consistency. The veggies were nicely grilled.
Our friends had the spicy tuna tostada and beef tacos which they really enjoyed.
We finished with the flan which was lightly topped with coconut ....really nice... and the churros with a chocolate dipping sauce. These were warm, firm, not too sweet and a perfect ending.
This is a beautiful looking place which was busy but the noise level was still OK for talking across the table. The service and was courteous and attentive and overall the prices for the freshness and quality of the food are very reasonable.
Really great food and service
Celebrating Halloween weekend it’s was great experience. It’s our 1st for us but definitely we will be back. The food was delicious and our waitress Ella she’s owe some. I did call restaurant to confirm our reservation and person whose on the phone very nice and friendly. Overall great restaurant to hang out with delicious food and friendly staff.
Enjoyed a fantastic meal and drink with friends at evaritos. We sat in front of the fireplace which was warm and comfortable and had a great view of room ( tv for people in group checking on playoffs scores). Fantastic ceviche to start them shrimp fajitas on corn tortillas- delicious and served with a huge amount of grilled veggies. Yum!
My friend enjoyed their food as well - lots of fresh seafood. We hit the rooftop after for post- dinner drinks - sat at a firepit. Beautiful evening with lots of stars. Loved being outside at night around the fire, talking and enjoying our drinks and music. Coming back next weekend with different friends and some kids. Think they will really enjoy the food and roof.
The food was terrible but the margaritas were great! Even the nachos were really really bad.
Atmosphere was great. Food was terrible. Had steak fajitas and they were terrible. Charros were the worst I’ve had. Loved the decor and lively atmosphere. My pear margarita was fabulous!!
Very trendy spot. Wasn't sure what to expect. We had fajitas and they were great. Owner was very personable asking if we were happy with everything.
Good food. Nice atmosphere. A little noisy and tough to find parking.
Solid place for a lively night out with friends. Not necessarily day night in my opinion. But good food, with a great ambiance.
Awesome brunch beautiful atmosphere — ending with more cocktails on the rooftop! All in all a fun Saturday!
Food was so good - very fresh vegetables. Great margaritas! Loved it!
Roof top fun for drinks before !
Our bill was 312.00 for ok nachos , guacamole,(small portion ) and tacos that were average at best - bc the menu was so limited in roof - we made reservation online and nowhere did it say there was no food options on the roof. It was a gorgeous day and we came for rooftop experience . The drinks were a fortune (60 for Kraft of margaritas which we did not know the cost of so we had two ) . Pretty place , very nice staff and service but so disappointed with the awful food and the outrageous bill. Honestly ... if we are real food then ok but it was as if we all ate a bag of chips
The service was excellent!!!
This is an amazing place! Super cool rooftop with spectacular Sono view for the first cocktail and down to the gorgeous and well designed and laid out 1st floor space! Food was divine! Waiter was fabulous. Guacamole is spicy and perfect, chips, perfect... we had the fish tacos , lamb tacos, rice and beans, corn and shisito peppers, grouper and chicken enchiladas. We were all in heaven. The frozé is great! Food and wine by the glass are priced fair! We will be back and we will bring friends!!! Best rooftop in Norwalk. (Much better than residence inn).
If you basing going to this restaurant based on reviews, let me save you time. GO HERE! This place is great. The chicken enchiladas are terrific and my new favorite the grilled mushroom fajitas are amazing. My last name is not Evaritos but I almost wish it was because it’s a privilege to feel like a part of this family every time I come here. I’ve long loved it and have written many praises for this restaurant. The service has been outstanding, I’ve never seen such dedicated, knowledgeable and professional waitstaff.
Went to the roof for an after diner cocktail and it was sensational. This is truly a new jewel for south norwalk eateries. I really enjoy the spostlcated and diverse staff that is trained to be their best with expert hosting abilities. I’m really proud to live in South Norwalk and see this sort of inclusion and sophistication highlighting the strength that our diversity brings. Thank you! Love this place!
Sorry, no photos this time. I was too busy having a great time.
I think I have some on Instagram @edwardhollywood
This restaurant is full of life, a bar for socializing and a large dining room on the corner of Washington St future park. Menu had many options for non meat eaters, although we did think the portions were small,
but the taste was great. Will def return to this restaurant.
Food was exceptional but on the pricey side. The guacamole was very different - excellent. Chips - home made but you had to pay for them. Fajitas - best I ever had, not just peppers and onions. There was a lovely variety of vegetables. The bananas foster dessert was the best thing I have ever eaten in my life. Delish. The one criticism my husband and I had were the margaritas - they were $10 and UP depending on what you ordered and they were just fine - nothing special and ALL ICE. Not worth the cost. Order beer.
Food, atmosphere and service was great! Definitely going back soon. The only suggestion is to use different chocolate for the churros, wasn’t the best
Beautiful restaurant with nice decor and a fun vibe. We wanted to love this place but the food just didn't hit the mark for us. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this is not your place. They've taken some liberties with traditional Mexican dishes like pairing their fajitas with vegetables including beets for a side rather than the traditional fajita set up not to mention, quite expensive as compared to other restaurants. The Evarito margarita was pretty tasty but they aren't very liberal with the tequila...also didn't quite hit the mark for us. The food was fairly bland and had a lot of strong onions that took over the taste of my tacos. It seems like a lot of good things are possible with some tweaks but doubt we go back anytime soon. We didn't go up to the patio but it seems like there's an amazing view. Great place for a cocktail (just add a little more tequila please!)
Terrible service--waiters just lolling around on a quiet Sunday evening (ours said he was "out of it" as they had endured a busy weekend)
Food no better, everything rather tasteless, "very spicy tuna tostada" was not spicy at all, enchiladas, described as both red and green on the menu, had tortillas of the consistency of carboard , no attempt to shred the chicken content.
Really cant think of anything positive to say
Loved the roof top bar and thought the food was very good and authentic Mexican with unusual flavors. All of the staff were very helpful and it has a nice atmosphere.
One companion did not like his pork, but tacos were delicious. The rooftop is fun, as is the vibe.
Amazing Mexican food with a twist! Excellent service and cool ambiance. We will definitely be back!
Always very pleasant service! Food is great. Love the tacos and fahitas. Plantain dessert is out of this world!!
Father’s Day. Busy! The staff was overwhelmed and there seemed to be only one “runner” and there were some mixups with food delivered to the wrong tables. Everyone was lovely, though, and doing their best to deliver the delicious food (and great cocktails)! Will be back.
Made a res for rooftop Dining. Confirmed through this App. On arrival "Rooftop is first come, first serve" JAMMED upstairs and LOUD. Downstairs, get a table looking at construction site. Order drink, nothing like menu description. Waitress says "I know, they should change that"manager comes over and tries to convince us it is what it isn't. Food was OK but already aggravated. Expected Rooftop ambience and got Construction site.
Food was good, I would definitely recommend the guacamole. It was so amazing and fresh! The tacos were good too, just like other places. Fajitas are highly recommended and you must get dessert! Our waiter James was nothing short of spectacular! The rooftop bar was a plus afterwards - great ambiance and music. I would return again.
Great staff and mangement
The food was good. The service was slow and it wasn’t busy.
The menu is too limited and while the food was decent it doesn't match the price tag. The Guacamole was AMAZING, was the highlight of the night. Wasn't thrilled with the drinks.
We were so happy with everything we ordered! We will be back! It was delicious!
The food is consistently excellent and a masterclass on what can be done with traditional Mexican ingredients. Also a really good wine list and decent selection of beers. The liquor and cocktail menu is extensive with brands I really like, but I haven’t moved beyond beer and wine there yet.
Evarito's is always dining pleasure, but I was pleasantly surprised by the Mothers Day Brunch. Brunch is usually off the menu and they offered a delightful buffet brunch instead. The colors of the sauces and fruits and guacamole offered were a a feast for the eyes! The chips are perfection. Entrees were clever and simple with enough options for everyone. On top of all of that they aced the desert with sweet offerings of a cobbler and a yummy delicious cake.
The service was great, even with it being Mothers Day.
I always have a great experience here and enjoy the amazing staff who are always at the top of their game, the great food from the kitchen and the overall fun vibe of the space and other diners. As I’ve left other reviews, all excellent, I don’t want it to dilute those.
For those reading a review: do it! It’s a beautiful place that makes you feel upscale and special with great food and service. Chips are amazing, guacamole is perfect and the fish tacos are wonderful( I usually do a double order if I’m hungry) and the combination plates are substantial. I love this staff because they are super friendly and treat everyone like a good friend.
Over-top-loud. It was Cinco de Mayo and they had a DJ so n
