Recently moved to the area and discovered this place. Second time dining (third try). First time was amazing. Interesting menu, really good food, excellent ambiance. We dined at an off time and had the place to ourselves.
Came back for brunch on the weekend and were turned away as walk ins weren’t available. That message was delivered with some attitude - but the place was jumping - oh well.
Back again at an off time, early for our reservation. Excited the place was empty. Were asked to “wait at the bar”. We must of looked at each other in a way that said “huh” because the hostess said never mind, and showed us to a table. Great ambiance, terrific service (thanks!), but the food didn’t impress this time. Overall felt like we were trying to get past the bouncer in to a nightclub late Saturday night, as opposed to an early dinner on the beach Sunday evening.
Went for Sunday brunch, beautiful setup on the beach. The buffet was not well stocked nor replenished frequently. The servers were difficult to locate and the ‘bottomless’ option only yielded 1 refill since the servers were only attentive to certain tables. Requests for forks or a water refill went unanswered. The check even took over 20 minutes to arrive after requested. The manager did right by discounting our meal (I eventually got up and asked for the check from him) so I will give a 3 overall based on quality of the food - it was good!! There is potential to improve, maybe they were short-staffed?
It was a wonderful experience. My friend and I have been to the one in Ft. Lauderdale but love the feel of how open and airy the one is in Hallandale.
Amazing food. Great value. Outstanding service. Will go back for sure
Wonderful !!
Always enjoy this beautiful waterfront restaurant
Arrived a bit late, but didn’t matter table wasn’t ready. The greeter told us the table would be ready in a bit to please go to the bar. Waited a while for the drinks to be served. The hostess came over I told us the table was ready. From there the evening was prefect.
We were celebrating a birthday which I noted on the reservation when I made it as well as told our waiter about that.
Any restaurant, even much more moderately priced one, would offer a birthday dessert on the house - but not ETARU.. that sort of soured the experience which was excellent till that point
Whitney was exceptional. Tasting menu was amazing and filling. Pairings were on point. Whole team was very service oriented.
Amazing food, ambiance and service. Just a little slow with checking in.
Really good
From the moment you step in we were in a great place with carrying service, great food and fantastic drinks!
Super service and great sashimi
Great service , wine was very nice , excellent food!
Good option to celebrate a birthday! It was too hot to sit outside!
The happy hours is very good with drinks at $6 and bites at $5. We tried the pork steamed dim sum and the Japanese fried chicken, both were excellent. We miss the skewers at happy hour
nice place, great dishes, and expectacular atmosphere
Two of us went for the sunny.org restaurant month.
The choices were extensive. Food was exotic but delicious.
Customers were dress rather casual; it is next to the beach, on a second floor in a condominium.
awesome. Best sushi in the world, and best ambiance in the world
Incredible service and food. Totally exceeded all of my expectations! Thank you Cesar and Racha!!!
Not as good as usual. Appetizers were great especially the ribs. Oysters were fresh as well as the sushi . But the service was slow and not as friendly as usual. We ordered our entrées and it took one hour to receive them and my friend had to take it to go. And what happened To the DJ
We went to Etaru with great expextations based on the wonderful reviews from the social media to find a very boring ambiance for a Saturday night. The restaurant inside was totally empty so we decided to sit outside but the heat and humidity totally ruined the experience. No music or good vibes at all. The food was average and the price was fair. Our waiter did everything above and beyond but it was not enough to wish us to return.
Great! Becoming a part of the regular dining rotation!
Brunch is always amazing! Great ambiance and even better food.
Sashimi was great, other food on average grade. Service very good.
You should not accept reservations at 9:30PM if you are to make us feel it is too late.
Amazing 😉
I have always enjoyed dining there for brunch. It was the first experience where the service was lacking. Bottom less wine champagne. Paid extra for champagne and all through I had to almost beg to get a glass as the server was no where to be found. Meanwhile the table next to me was getting refill while half empty. Thumbs down for my last visit.
Another fabulous experience at ETARU. Amazing brunch at a great price.
Amazing !!!!
Beautiful ocean front setting. Nice ambiance. Relaxed & friendly service. Enjoyed the food. Good value overall. Would return.
Great location, service and food. A bit overpriced.
We went for our 25th wedding anniversary and wI’ll definitely go back. They put us right by the ocean and the food was excellent. They even wrote “happy anniversary” in chocolate on our dessert plate.
Brunch was great! They give a lot for the price, I would definitely recommend.
Paul, the manager, made our experience a lot better!
We The location of our table was great and fits for our company
Amazing food with a great location.
Amazing all around!! We lived the sever Whitney!
This was our first visit to Etaru in Hallandale. We did not realize that it was a Sunday brunch buffet. We had a short wait and was seated outside. The quality of the food, especially the sushi/sashimi and seafood was amazing. All of the food was excellent. We were then blown away by the dessert platter which came with the brunch. We all loved it. The drinks included with the brunch were also great. Will return!
First time and will not be the last. Server accommodated all of our needs. This will be on my list again for Sunday Brunch
