ETARU Fort Lauderdale
Noise level extremely high! Tables for two were VERY close to each other. We opted to sit at sushi bar which was not as nice as a table but at least we were able to converse privately.
Great food, but overpriced despite its quality. Service was very average. Atmosphere, pleasant but casual.
The service was poor, the branch buffet empty.
The service was awful
This place has been very expensive since day one which we had no problem with. It was one of our most favorite restaurants it has gone seriously downhill. We were so disappointed the last couple of times we went to the menu has changed it is plain and horrible and completely overpriced. Clearly they lost all of their cooking talent and people who buy the food because the quality has completely degraded and this place won’t be here very long unless they get back to their original month when I first open and that quality and level of food service and choices. This place used to be packed it is now empty because everyone is Setting the same thing
Worst restaurant ever!!!, service is horrendous, our waitress spend the time talking to another table and just came to try to sell, she did not have any idea about the menu, the prices are extremely expensive compare to the quality of the food, portions are extremely small.
A restaurant with those prices can’t have waiters who don’t know the menu.
My impression is They won’t survive, unless they hire a very discipline management who take control of all those kids running the restaurant.
Won’t come back!
Had mother’s day brunch, services was very good and food was great as usual.
Not what it use to be. Food quality is more like strip mall sushi.
The service was good but food portions were small but pricey. The acoustics were bad- it was difficult to hear one another.
Good food, nice atmosphere, great cocktails. The bartender is super!!
Although most of the food was good, it was way overpriced for portion sizes. Salad with avacado dressing, miso cod, and sashimi was tasty, but fried chicken bites was mostly batter. If you have money to burn and you want to impress a date, this is a good spot to do it. If you want good sushi/sashimi and don’t want to spend your whole paycheck, go elsewhere. This is def a $$$ not $$ as advertised on OT. Also, watch the bill - we were charged twice for an order and server took the extra charge off the bill, but with no apology. Service was sketchy also.
Wonderful food and great value! Service was good. People were nice but it was extremely slow. We even had to bus our own table at one point bc the plates kept stacking up. Manager gave us a round of champagne as an apology. Would definitely go back, but they need to work on service.
Great food and service.
The food quality was poor. Especially bc they up charged $20 for Easter indicat
I come here twice or even 3 times a month. Love it sushi grade is beyond expectations.
Tasting menu delicious and huge
Excellent meal limited selections
We sat outside and it was nice. Food quality was excellent!
Pricy for Las Olas Clientele very small portions. We ordered the lamb chops the flavor was different and delicious but did not include any side dish same with skirt stake. Celebrating a special occasion so we were contemplating ordering the Wagu beef at $100. The ounces were not listed (all other beef cuts did) so we asked
at first the waiter stated he thought it was between 6 and 8 oz. so we placed the order. a couple minutes later he returned to inform us he checked with the chef and it was now 4oz. At $25 an oz. we canceled the order.
I would recommend the bar area for happy hour!
I went for dinner on a weekend. You’ll be okay ordering anything off the cold menu. If you order the steak, it will come out cold as it takes a little while to receive it. It gets really loud by the bar, so essentially you have a place that’s sort of bar-ish on one side and dining on the other. Depending on your style, you can have that Fort Lauderdale bar scene feeling if you’re up for it and enjoy a decent meal afterwards. But don’t expect a 5 star experience even though the service was good depending on which staff member approached you. 4 stars for sure as its definitely one of the better (but not the best) of places in Fort Lauderdale.
We had an excellent experience there with our server Jordan and the manager Jose. They were attentive to our likes, actively engaged with us on questions, and provide a worthwhile and memorable time.
The food was on point. The kampachi and grilled flank steak with chimichurri were excellent.
Lastly, thanks to Jordan’s recommendation, we really enjoyed the Japanese Fried Chicken.
If there was something to consider to go back to the restaurant, the waiter kill it, it was the worst experience ever, she forgot the tea I ordered, never returned to the table to pick up dirty dishes, never look after our table to see if we wanted something else, we have to be calling a passerby waiter to ask for things. Finally, when we were desperate to leave, and ask for the check, she decided to clean up the table and had us waiting forever to bring it. The food was ok, nothing that I will crave to go for. Not giving the place a second chance.
Amazing. The food, drinks, and service we outstanding. We did the tasting and had more then enough food and everything was perfect!
The food as always was great, good service, and nice ambiance.
Amazing food and staff. Only drawback was a very loud table next to us.
Expensive, but very good. Fun place to be and the Black Cod was to die for. Will come back.
The prices don't seem high at first, but the portions are tiny and very a la carte. Also the restaurant is LOUD. All hard surfaces, crowded with dinners, and loud music playing to boot. So, while the food is very good, the value and experience drag down my rating.
Food was average at best for small plates. Why serve a chicken dish on the menu that looks and tastes like chicken nuggets from the freezer? If you are going to do something small and charge quite a bit more than make it exceptional!
Server was rookie and couldn’t answer anything about menu. Not great for an $$$ menu and supposed 4-5* restaurant.
I love this restaurant, but this last experience was not the best. Our server gave us water and then disappeared for 30 minutes. We tried to get her attention, but were unsuccessful. We ended up getting another server to help us, he was great. He took our order and got us drinks. The original server came along 10 min later, like nothing had happened. Who leaves a table unattended for 30+ minutes when they have just sat down and then act clueless??
The food was delicious. The portions are small, so this isn’t the place for you if you have a massive appetite. However, I’ve never had a bad dish. I would just expect the service to be more in line with the price. I shouldn’t have bad service paying $300/meal.
Our waiter made several errors with the order, forgot to bring drinks we ordered and had to be reminded. He also had limited knowledge of the menu including what was vegan.
A big disappointment coming to Etaru on Las Olas. I’ve read some good comments about Etaru in Hallandale but despite that I tried the other location on Las Olas. The shishito peppers were cold, the chu and o toro sashimi didnt taste fresh, the tuna tataki wasn’t good. The only thing I enjoyed were the vegetable dumplings and shrimp. I can’t comment on the meat as I’m a pescatarian but nobody else from our table seemed to like the food. Do yourself a favor and rather go to Novikov in Miami.
Lisa was very professional and knowledgeable in helping us with the menher wait staff was very attentive
Terrible service!! This is our 4th time and the service is still horrible. Food comes out too fast and has very little taste. Poor management.
Excellent menu. Drinks are outstanding. I’m definitely coming back with friends, family or business associates.
Talentoso chef. Excelente comida, salvo el Edamame.
La carne excelente al igual que el pescado.
We had been to this restaurant two weeks prior to celebrate an anniversary and had a fantastic server fantastic food prompt service all of the food was fresh and hot. Then we went last Saturday evening some and some of the food tasted and looked like it was prepped prior to being served. Also we waited for a very long time before anyone served us at our table
The food was excellent and the hibiscus yuku tea was a delight. Everything we ordered was delicious, and then we topped it off with the smoked coconut parfait. Unreal!
We have been here before, but if tonight was the first, forget it! The place depends too much on food runners, which contributes to a break down and poor service. If the primary server was more involved in food delivery they probably would have corrected the problem that 1 entree came out about 20 minutes before the other persons’. Side orders kept coming, but no entree! One sits outside waiting for s very long time for their server.
