    This was one of our favorite dining-out experiences we’ve had in Bellingham. Davis and his crew made us feel like family. The food, service and vibe was perfection. Can’t wait to come back.

    Great food, wine and service in a very nice and comfortable setting. I will definitely come back for more. I just hope the short menu gets seasonally adjusted so we get to discover more great dishes at different times of the year.

    Estelle makes the little neighborhood of Fairhaven a dinner destination. The kitchen's fresh and inventive cooking - and the attentive, friendly staff - would make fans in cities ten times the size. Where else would you deliberate, "Should I get the terrific burger - or the roast carrots?" (Get both.)

     The duck confit  was tasty but a small portion and in my opinion expensive given the fact that it came with a few cherry tomatoes, but no additional vegetables or starch  such as the excellent duck frites.

    This restaurant provides dishes of a very high quality that's hard to find. It's very expensive to eat out these days, and I so often feel that I'm not getting good value. But Estelle does provide good value

    The food was good. The bartender who was my server was nice. I had a reservation and the host stood in front of me for several minutes before even acknowledging me. To be fair, he was engaged in some kind of work activity, but he didn’t so much as make eye contact as I stood there awkwardly. He finally acknowledged me and asked me to find my name on his iPad for my reservation. I hadn’t realized that outdoor seating area was down for the season and made my reservation for an outdoor table. There were a few small bistro tables outside but no lights. Because it was going to be dark soon, I asked if I could sit at the bar. He told me to sit at the very end of the bar. Which I did because I was the one to request the change. The bartender greeted me and was very nice. I ordered a hamburger medium and a glass of wine. The food came out very quick and was tasty even though the burger was rare and bloody. As soon as my food came out, it attracted about 1/2 dozen fruit flies. I kept batting them away, but one ended up in my wine. I tried to wave down a few employees but they either didn’t see me or were fully ignoring me (the bartender was engaged with other customers on the other side of the bar) so I turned to try to find a spoon in the bus station behind me to fish out the fruit fly from my $18 glass of wine. There must be a door right there because a person appeared and he grabbed me a spoon and I joked that “maybe I could save the fly’s life” - he giggled and said “you could try! And disappeared to never be seen again. I fished out the bug and poured out the spoonful of wine onto the bar - I did indeed save the fly’s life. While it walked around the bar drying its wings, I swatted the remaining ones away while I tried to down the tasty but underdone ground beef on my plate. “Dang flies!”- said the bartender. I polished off the wine and couldn’t finish the rare burger. I got my check, paid out, and left. Probably won’t go back. Bartender was nice, though
