Esca is dedicated to showcasing the wines of our estate by pairing them with simple yet elegant food in spectacular Hunter Valley setting. Our food philosophy is to use the best quality local ingredients combined with our own Bimbadgen produce. Right here on site we have our own bee boxes, vegetable garden and extensive citrus orchard.
Our menu has been designed to allow you to design your own tasting experience. You have the option to choose as the number of courses you wish, and in which order you wish to enjoy these. We begin our menu experience with 3 courses, but you can select 4 5 or more if you wish.
To enjoy the full Esca and Bimbadgen experience, we highly recommend you enjoy each dish with our wine pairings. Our Executive Chef, Nick Samaras and Winemaker Richard Done, have carefully selected a perfect wine match to each menu item.

What an amazing way to enjoy a meal with few or many servings of whatever you want in the whatever order you want.
We were very excited by the food and the presentation which was first class, the kitchen staff did a wonderful job and we congratulated them on their efforts.
The wait staff were courteous and friendly and so very helpful and conscientious - this was an event we will never forget, on a day that meant so much to my partner and I.
Will recommend Esca Bimbadgen to friends from Central Coast to Cronulla - and we will be back.
Absolutely fantastic dining experience. We were a party of 9 for a birthday. Beautiful setting and exceptional staff especially Alex. Food was amazing with reasonable portion size. I chose 3 dishes with matching wine and wished I have room for a 4th or even 5th. Some people in my group even came back the next day to buy wine from the cellar door. Highly recommended for a group booking but just as perfect for a romantic dinner for two. I will definitely be back.
Great views, delightful food, wonderful venue... recommended
Great service great food ambiance and
fantastic views as well as top drop of wines
Everything was as expected at a fine dining restaurant. Staff very friendly and food of a superior standard. Would recommend without hesitation.
The new menu, which provides smaller similar sized courses, is much better for lunch - means you can enjoy 3or4 courses without leaving the feeling of having overeaten
Birthday celebration. Beautiful night.
A three course lunch took nearly 2 hours so we missed out cellar door appointment. Otherwise, food was great, waiters were super friendly and the view from the balcony was lovely.
Great food and service. Deserves all its accolades
New menu very bitty. Minimum 3 courses 75 dollars. I had haloumi, prawns which consisted of 3 prawns with nice dressings/accompaniments and then panacotta. I left the restaurant hungry which was a disappointment. The service was excellent and our waitress very pleasant and professional. The restaurant is in such a beautiful setting but would not return whilst menu remains as it is.
most acceptable. fantastic lunch and wine tasting experience. recommend strongly.
Had a really delicious meal on the deck. It was a perfect, warm, day and a perfect view. Couldn’t pick a favourite dish - we had five courses and they were all excellent. If you don’t do matched wines, treat yourself to a glass of the Bimbadgen Signature Shiraz - beautiful wine.
Enjoyed a lovely Melbourne Cup lunch at Esca. The food was lovely and the staff were amazing and very attentive. A wonderful afternoon out, highly recommended.
Great food. Wonderful service. Smoked watermelon oysters were sensational.
Really had a great night.
Almost of the meals were wonderfully vibrant and interesting.
The standout for 3 of us was the rosemary smoked peach.
Had a lovely dinner, good food selection and it was nice to sample the Bimbadgen wines also
My friend and I went there for lunch during the week and the restaurant inside the winery and cellar door had fabulous views, service was exceptional and food was divine ! We sat outside and took on the Hunter Valley !
Food was good, eye fillet and halloumi were really nice as was the dessert / cheese platter. Buttermilk chicken was a bit ordinary......
Overall pleasant experience would go back.
Beautiful food, lovely view and great service. Perfect for a relaxing long lunch.
Esca was recommended to us, and now I would highly recommend to others! We loved the freshness of the food, the wine was perfect, and the service and timing was spot on. We look forward to the next visit!
We had a fantastic meal with matching wine, great atmosphere and fantastic food.
Esca was delightful as usual, great view on a great day, and very interesting food.
There was quite a noisy party dining at the same time, so quite a relief that they left before us and it quietened down.
We were a little surprised by the set menu being the only option, and thought the cost a bit steep. We would have had one course given the choice. $100 per person for lunch is not something we can do as a rule.
The food offerings were superb and the service was wonderful. The pea custard was like nothing I've ever had before, a must have.
Wonderful menu, enjoyed the Asian twist on many of the dishes, wine matching works excellently. Delicious!
The service and food at ESCA was fantastic. The menu options make it very difficult to choose a dish given they are all phenomenal.
Great selection of dishes, even for the vegetarian. Delicious food, great views, highly recommend!
Amazing fine dining and very stunning location. Complimentary dishes given as my fiance and I were celebrating our engagement.
We had a really nice dining experience. The food was amazing, waitstaff lovely and the view was great. We will be back as soon as possible.
Meals were divine, service was excellent and friendly absolutely loved it and coming back !!
We have visited many times food and service always good.
Excellent food and wine choice, great service, my partner was a cilia c and the staff could not have been more helpful. Beautiful view from the outside seating area. Would highly recommend
Absolutely superb!! Not a cheap lunch but an exceptional experience.
Very personal service, wonderful dishes from a very flexible menu (4 courses means any 4 dishes; could be 4 desserts), and a lovely view.
My tuna shasimi was lovely, the Japanese style fried chicken the best I've had outside of Japan. My wife fell in love with the poached seafood.
Very highly recommended.
My wife and I enjoyed the food and service at Esca Bimbadgen. The new menu was fantastic. Portion sizes are good and presentation was beautiful. We'll definitely come back!
The food was very tasty and good choices. Especially vegetarian as i had a totally vegetarian guest. All the 3 courses were good quantity serving. Good views from your balcony. Nice ambiance. Very good service and knowledgeable staff. On the whole a good experience, being the first time at a restaurant in Hunter Valley. Will recommend to friends and will revisit to taste some more wines and also try the Wood fired pizza for casual eating. I am not able to upload the photos. Will send them in an email.
Was a bit underwhelmed, food was nice but nothing amazing & no real wow factor. Beautiful setting on a sunny day and pleasant staff but have eaten much nicer food elsewhere in the Hunter.
Might try the Woodfire Pizza downstairs as a casual option next time
A delightful surprise, the restaurant has been newly renovated and is very modern slick Scandinavian design and with comfy modern furniture.
The meal concept is amazing, well thought out and a credit to the chef. Pick any meal and design your own degustation menu to your tastes.
Stand out dishes for us...
Pea and Pecorino
Lamington for dessert
A extreme variety of flavour combinations on all of our dishes that all complimented each other and also matched lovely with the recommended wines.. Top notch, extremely busy for a Friday evening. Our 2nd course was a little slow to arrive however all other courses flowed well.
We sat on the deck outside which was a perfect spot to watch the vineyards and enjoy the pristine view during dusk. The flood light attracts along of bugs if you can overcome its a great spot.
Downstairs a busy pizzeria was filled with a more casual crowd that all seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere in the courtyard. A very clever business addition.
The service was extremely attentive from the moment, we were welcomed and ushered to our table. The menu design and concept was thoroughly explained which was very helpful as it may be a little overwhelming to create and choose dishes from such a high calibre. Wine list includes a huge selection of the Bimbadgen Wines so its great to be able to experience the labour of the love from all the vines surrounding the venue.
In conclusion an amazing dining experience for the Hunter. Thank you.
Very nice but staff could’ve been a little more attentive.
We loved the welcoming and relaxed ambiance of this place - service was outstanding from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The views from our outdoor table were absolutely breathtaking. We ordered several dishes and matching wines and were not disappointed. The presentation and freshness of all the food was exquisite and it was by far the best restaurant we visited in the area. Can’t wait to return!!
Great way to select meals - we could choose any meals to make up for the 3, 4 or 5 course meal. It was a beautiful evening. We sat outside on the balcony with gorgeous views. We saw the moon rise over the horizon, spectacular colour of orange / red to yellow /white. Our table was adorned with candles... due to a faulty outside light! A bit difficult to see. We were pleasantly surprised with an array of fireworks - a perfect evening out!!
Awesome dining experience. We had the full 5 courses for a group of 10. It was so good we are booked to visit again in a few weeks. This time for 16 people. The concept is to choose a set number of courses and then just order anything of the menu in whatever order you want. If you want 5 desserts then you can have them. There are were so many great dishes it was hard to pick a favourite. However, for me, the Pea and Pecorino baked custard was my pick. Delightful.
