The Epocha team always ensures they take care of you! So, sit back, relax & be merry!!
It was great, but I’d been there before and I just say the changes to the menu are not in its favour. The cocktails and wine list are great, the staff are great but it is now a lot more expensive for less food, and frankly while the food is amazing it’s not different enough to warrant the price hike. Overall I’d still recommend it,
Epocha is one of Melbourne's best restaurants. Amazing food, lovely ambience, great service.
Epocha has the special advantage that it is NOT on the main Carlton food strip - instead it enjoys serving delicious food from a beautiful terrace house overlooking the stunning Carlton gardens! Win/win really!
OUR FAVOURITE RESTAURANT IS BACK!
After a disappointing meal 2 months ago, we had a lovely meal tonight - great food, spectacular service.
It was a delight to dine at Epocha - it was the Epocha we had grown to know and love.
We will be back!
Thank you for a lovely evening
Such a warm, but sophisticated restaurant. The food and service is exceptional. Stunning interior and ambience. The owner goes above and beyond to make everyone feel special, and personally making sure that they have everything they need.
Came here for our anniversary dinner and greatly enjoyed the three course menu. The service was excellent and helpful with any questions and requests we had -- they even threw in a little bonus tipple for the occasion! Highly recommended as a cosy night with someone you love.
We paid $50pp for a sunday roast and their was no value for money. We hardly got anything for the money we spent. We walked away feeling hungry and underwhelmed.
Great night and lovely food
Quality of all service was excellent from all staff looking after us on the night. Had a last minute change with numbers and no problems in rearranging a table. Waiters very patient and explained the menu options in detail. Likewise with the very wide selection of wines. An overall excellent experience. Thanks you.
The wine waiter at this restaurant I think she may be the owner but her knowledge of wine is amazing. We really enjoyed all the food and wine esp steak tartare!
Sensational food with impeccable service made this a wonderful discovery on the Melbourne scene
Perhaps we went on the wrong night! Very limited menu, although the waitress was lovely and managed to rustle up something for us all to eat. I thought the meals were overcooked and on the small side.
Won't be rushing back.
Amazing & gorgeous - you’ll be looked after by Angie & her attentive team.
I took my family here (my parents and younger brother) to celebrate my birthday. Having never been here before, I was honestly blown away by the quality of the food and of the service. Would definitely recommend for any kind of group event, and even for a more intimate setting like a date. Every dish, from the olives as a starter all the way through to the dessert which I forgot the name of but featured a heavenly meringue and strawberry puree, was excellent and shone on its own and as part of the wider meal.
My wife’s words “the best lamb I’ve ever had”.
We booked in for the Sunday roast and had the most amazing long lunch. The restaurant website tells you what the schedule is as far as the roast meat.
At $50 a head, I reckon it was an absolute bargain. 3 amazing courses (+some amazing qld prawns) and we left feeling pleasantly full.
Service was bang on, never left wanting or waiting but very discreet.
I think we’ve found our new weekend favourite!
Great experience. Fantastic service... staff are great at explaining everything. Extensive wine list. Dining is not dish based but course based. Highly recommended
Great ambience. Relaxed, friendly and professional. Food excellent
Having been to Epocha on several prior occasions, and enjoyed the experience enormously, our most recent visit was VERY disappointing. The food was nothing special - certainly not what we had seen on each prior occasion. Sadly, Epocha will move to our 'not again' restaurant list.
Really nice place！
Dined at Epocha for a meeting and had an awesome lunch.
The “perfect egg” lived up to its name and the barramundi was cooked to perfection: crispy skin and delicious flaky meat. Also, make sure you always order a side of the potatoes!
Didn’t have dessert, but seeing the crepe Suzette made at a nearby table, including some flame (intentional) almost persuaded me to order one. Great theatre!
Service was spot on and I will be heading back very soon.
We have always enjoyed coming to Epocha, their food are exceptional, and their service is by far the best!
Great, loved the Sunday roast format. Service just perfect, wines recommended were well priced and matched food well. Looking forward to trying different roasts in coming weeks.
Brilliant staff and absolutely spectacular food! Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Met at the entrance by a well mannered, neat hospitality staff who graciously showed us to our table. Atmosphere was soft, romantic with low dim light and the smell of cheese next to our table was ma ma mi ah. Unfortunately my wife was not a cheese lover so i have to satisfy myself by savoring its aroma.
As far as space is concern, the dining room is less spacious. I have to remind myself to keep my arms out of harms way every time a staff or a customer walk pass our table.
The food were tasty, presentable, artistic and we thoroughly enjoyed every last bit of it. Our compliment to the chef. The staff took the trouble to describe every dishes and its preparation. I must admit she did it very professionally. How ever it was a bit of disappointment that pasta can only be served with cream base and no tomato base as an alternative. Regrettably, we have to be contented with beef cheek and wedges as an alternative. We did not realize it was surprisingly tasty - tender, well done with sauces and virtually melt in the mouth. Pasta was given a miss but the beef cheek is all well worth it. Thumbs up chef!!!
Lastly the toilet is quite a humor. It was dark when i went in and thought the light work by motion sensor.
Stood for a few seconds waiting for a miracle to happen. I realized then it ain't going to happen. group around the wall for the switch. Thankfully no one walk in at that time otherwise it would have given him a fright.
Well we did enjoy the meal and it was indeed a pleasant evening.
Thank you ALL EPOCHA
The service was fantastic and the food very good -
service was incredible. our waiter was amazing!
Wine list was amazing too
Great food, great service, and a great wine list... what more could you want!
Once again another amazing dining experience at one of Melbourne most beloved restaurants. The service was (as it always is) impeccable. The moment you walk in the door you feel welcome and like you're walking into your own home.
Highly recommend Epocha for any occasion or just to go for delicious food, fabulous wine and friendly service.
The food and ambience were amazing, the service was top notch. Highly recommend!
Great service. True home cooked quality . Wines were too expensive. Needs some lower priced in the selection . $160’per bottle was at the ‘lower ‘ end .
Spectacular service, delicious food and we were guided by our server in wine parings. We were particularly impressed by the discretion displayed when we asked for the lamb dish to be cooked a little more. Every element of the experience from booking to paying was completely seamless! We have been telling everyone who will listen how impressed we were, will most definitely be back.
We had a lovely time on a Friday night. They were very accommodating to dietary restrictions and it was set in a beautiful victorian home. Highly recommend.
Food was great. Wines by the glass limited but very expensive.
Great staff and food. We have been a few times now and have done the ala carte and the degustation. World class cuisine
I found the chairs to be the most uncomfortable seating I have ever experienced in a restaurant - so uncomfortable that it spoiled the whole experience. I became quite sore as the night proceeded.
We were disappointed that the lamb we ordered was undercooked, especially when we requested medium.
Everything else, including the other food choices, was excellent especially the service.
Stunning as always. Best Sunday lunch in the city. Beautiful setting, attentive staff and my absolute favourite!
We had a very lovely dinner, food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and accommodating!
Amazing meal with lovingly matched wines and we were beautifully looked after.
