service was incredible. our waiter was amazing!
Wine list was amazing too
Great food, great service, and a great wine list... what more could you want!
Once again another amazing dining experience at one of Melbourne most beloved restaurants. The service was (as it always is) impeccable. The moment you walk in the door you feel welcome and like you're walking into your own home.
Highly recommend Epocha for any occasion or just to go for delicious food, fabulous wine and friendly service.
The food and ambience were amazing, the service was top notch. Highly recommend!
Great service. True home cooked quality . Wines were too expensive. Needs some lower priced in the selection . $160’per bottle was at the ‘lower ‘ end .
Spectacular service, delicious food and we were guided by our server in wine parings. We were particularly impressed by the discretion displayed when we asked for the lamb dish to be cooked a little more. Every element of the experience from booking to paying was completely seamless! We have been telling everyone who will listen how impressed we were, will most definitely be back.
We had a lovely time on a Friday night. They were very accommodating to dietary restrictions and it was set in a beautiful victorian home. Highly recommend.
Food was great. Wines by the glass limited but very expensive.
Great staff and food. We have been a few times now and have done the ala carte and the degustation. World class cuisine
I found the chairs to be the most uncomfortable seating I have ever experienced in a restaurant - so uncomfortable that it spoiled the whole experience. I became quite sore as the night proceeded.
We were disappointed that the lamb we ordered was undercooked, especially when we requested medium.
Everything else, including the other food choices, was excellent especially the service.
Stunning as always. Best Sunday lunch in the city. Beautiful setting, attentive staff and my absolute favourite!
We had a very lovely dinner, food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and accommodating!
Amazing meal with lovingly matched wines and we were beautifully looked after.
Beautiful building and cosy atmosphere. We had the 'Surrender' degustation menu which was delicious and not too overwhelming in terms of the amount of food which you often get with a lot of courses. A highlight was the crepes where they prepared the syrup and set it alight at the table. Only docked one star as some of the courses took a bit of time to come. But otherwise a great experience and would recommend.
A few of the dishes were really delicious, but some were average also.
Atmosphere is really good...and the staff are really friendly and lovely
I got asked twice (once when I booked on open table and also when I rang to confirm) whether it was for a special occasion and I said yes for a birthday, however no mention of it at the dinner.
Overall a nice experience, just didn’t wow me to the point I would rave about it to all my friends
I organised a mid week business lunch at Epocha based on the reviews online. We had a table of 9 and ordered the set tasting menu. To say we were blown away is an under statement. The highlight's were the beef cheeks and chocolate dome for dessert. Every plate was clean at the end of the meal. The wine list is vast and exciting and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant for anyone who appreciates good food, great wine and the effort from the Epocha team that goes into creating such a special experience for their diners.
We went to the Truffle Dinner and to say it was an outstanding evening would not do it justice. Intimate group of 16 including the truffle grower who added so much to the evening. We also went for the matched wines which were great and well explained by the sommelier. Each diner had their own truffle to shave at will and then if that wasn't enough we each got a truffle to take home. Highly recommend the experience.
words cannot describe how good The truffle dinner was
The fantastic Sustain meal set worth the deal. It is to share. Enjoyed the beef.
Great food and ambience. Most service very good except the male wine waiter often did not pay a lot of attention to filling glasses up etc
Everything was perfect
Great ambiance, great food, greater service! Would definitely recommend to a friend. Good for a date.
Excellent food! Delicious. Well portioned. Friendly staff.
Fantastic atmosphere that was out matched by the even better food that we had. Every course was on point and the wines matched perfectly. Great experience and will be recommending it with out hesitation.
I wouldn’t call this dinner; this was an experience! The service was impeccable, the food was simply amazing, and the location itself is just beautiful. This made our anniversary something truely special, and I don’t doubt that we’ll be returning soon.
Excellent food and detail to dinners without being noticed...
We will be back.
Our favourite restaurant! Love it here. Beautiful food and the service is amazing.
We were a small group of friends who met at Epocha for Sunday lunch We had been there previously and were very happy with it so it was a no-brainer to come back. Sunday roast was lovely - slow roasted shoulder of lamb. Must say I was not overwhelmed with the kingfish as a small starter but the others - roasted pumpkin and chicken liver pate more than made up for it. Altogether, it was as good as we had previously experienced and we will certainly return before winter is finished
Went for Sunday lunch. Set menu (roast) very relaxing for a change. With friends, so easier than worrying about prices, what to choose, whether to share etc. Apparently they do cater for food intolerances but none of us had any. Food yummy. Atmosphere great - not noisy so we could talk. Decor felt cosy, intimate, special occasion, timeless. Very pleasant staff - helpful, friendly, professional but not pretentious. Good wine list. We will be back. Recommend for more intimate dining or smaller groups who want to talk.
Terrible service. Meals took over an hour to come and took 30 minutes to be offered a drink. Very inattentive waitstaff. Had to ask for every 2-3 times and was difficult to get their attention. For the price we expected significantly better service.
Best food and service. Always a family favourite. Great attention to dietary requirements
Great food but a little too tightly seated on Sunday lunch. Didn’t get to properly relax until it cleared out a little.
My husband and I went for a delicious Saturday night dinner at Epocha and we were not disappointed.
The restaurant ambience was wonderful. Not too many tables in the restaurant and not too noisy on a very full Saturday night.
The food was incredible (we went for the 7 course degustation) and when paired with the matching wines, we were really treated! We opted for the additional caviar and truffle too which was a real luxury.
Staff were really friendly and fun. Their female sommelier was very knowledgeable and gave great explanations about flavour and what to expect with and without the food. We got to try wine that we hadn't previously considered and the paring with the food was impeccable. The degustation menu was beautifully presented, very yummy and their Rum Baba was such a surprise to finish off the night! Epocha, thank you for a lovely evening. We will be back for more!!
We had a wonderful night and meal at Epocha. Went with some foodie adult children, tasted fab wines. The staff were v.accommodating of some various food preferences as well as sensitivities. Great for a special occasion when you have a bit of $ to spend.
Every thing is made by chefs including bread and butter
We had a superb meal - very high class cooking and beautifully presented.
Service was so delightful too.
We where disappointed that two items from the set menu where sold out
I dined there for roast sunday lunch with a big group. Epocha was really accomodating with all the changes in numbers and dietary requirements. i definitely look forward to dining there and would recommend to other friends.
My mate Mike and I were both celebrating our 73rd birthdays and hoping for many more. The joint was empty except for us, but our host Steve made our time eating good food a very pleasant one.
