Epicurean Red Hill
Epicurean is my go to place it has a varied menu to allow for every taste. The woodfire pizzas are great, they serve all the local wines at a good price, the atmoshpere is great, and I love the open fires. The staff are always friendly and welcoming attenative and provide great service.
Honestly one of the best set lunches I have been to, you more than get your money's worth with the set menu.
It was fresh delicious and impressive.
We honestly thought it was TOO MUCH FOOD, We felt really bad for not getting through it all. If one of the courses was swapped out for a glass of wine or a desert it would have been perfect.
We also had a high number of dietary requirements and they were handled with ease by the staff.
The place was gorgeous and we all raved about it afterwards and how we can't wait to go back.
Highly recommend to anyone thinking of going here.
Advice to have pizza, think it’s more of the specialty of this restaurant
Beautiful setting and great service. Food was disappointing and overpriced
Amazing food, great interiors and atmosphere! The staff were lovely. We got there an hour early and were accommodated with a table to have some drinks at beforehand! Lovely all round :)
Excellent service , lovely restaurant. Wasn’t that happy with my meal but it was ok . All in all a lovely restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed myself
Enjoyed a lovely long birthday lunch with my wife at our favorite place on the peninsula. From the moment you are greeted at ‘the shed’ you made welcome and feel special. We we seated by the glorious open fire and ordered local white and red wine with perfectly prepared calamari and the speciality of the house Brussel Sprouts. Delicious. Then for mains we had possibly the greatest pizza we’ve ever had and the classic spaghetti carbonara which was also divine. All up we would highly recommend Epicurean not just for the great food but also the awesome, friendly service and atmosphere. Cheers, Phil
Big fan of the Epicurean - its a great space. But on this last visit, the service was not overly attentive. We were left for long periods, and always had to attract attention. I had the beef risotto (a special), that was fairly bland and needed seasoning. It was a large bill - worth it for the location, but in terms of constructive feedback, need to watch the flavours coming from the kitchen. No chef had tasted my risotto, otherwise they would have looked to season and increase flavour. Having said all that! I would return.
We enjoyed a Sunday lunch at Epicurean as the start of our road trip in the area. It was pouring with rain outside but the roaring fires inside made it incredibly toasty. We had heard great things about the food and wine and enjoyed a local wine and IPA respectively. My partner opted for a pizza whilst I went for the lamb shank. I regretted not ordering a side of something like broccoli as it definitely felt like it was missing some greenery. I would've been happy to add on a vegetable side but staff had become scarce, something we especially noticed when I wanted to order another glass of wine. We were served by at least three different people and the time between ordering the second glass of wine and it arriving (after flagging down a staff member) my remaining lunch had gone cold -I like to eat them together. We wonder if perhaps we should've ordered drinks directly from the bar as it appeared some people were doing? If someone had checked on us once we'd received our meals as often happens I believe we would've only had positive comments. Overall we would recommend and would like to visit again - the set menu for large groups sounds delicious and great value so hopefully we will be able to take advantage of that.
Great food, friendly attentive service. Overall an excellent afternoon to be had with friends and family
The food was incredible! Definitely value for money. Nice and cosy with the open fire and heating above.
Loved the venue and food and wine both were great , look forward to going back
Customer service was terrible. Our waiter stood next to me until I finished my meal so he could take my plate. Food took a while to come and was overpriced for what actually came out. Very loud. Will not recommend.
Vibe was nice and our request to sit next to the fire was fullfilled. Staff were mostly great, we had a disinterested waiter who seemed a bit allouf, another waiter saved the day with his lovely attentiveness. Food was very nice, although would have liked some mash or something else with the lamb shank to absorb gravy.
The host was wonderful but our waiter wasn’t helpful and difficult to understand.
Food was ok, but probably shouldn’t have ordered anything but pizza.
Food was very good and the service was well balanced.
Very impressed with the "Bread and Butter Pudding"- best one I have had in years.
This was our first time back here during Winter on. Friday evening. Fire places were roaring, pizza was delicious!
Nice ambience, plenty of parking for weeknight dinner, good menu options
Waited for our table even though we booked. Good lunch but waiter wasn’t attentive and our lunch took awhile to arrive.
We were very impressed with the service and quality of the food. Great choice of wine. Loved sitting by the fire.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food and friendly service. The spacious room was made to feel cosy through the clever use of furniture to divide the space up and the fireplaces and soft lighting added to the ambience. We will return.
Ordinary ... the food was blah and the charges for pizza add-ons were too high
Great food, great atmosphere!
Cost is what it is, you have to pay for good quality!
Stunning foo, incredible wine list and an ambiance that begs you to stay all day - a wonderful way to spend a cold winters day.
Amazing Italian style food, delicious cocktails and great service.
