Epicurean Ratings and Reviews
We had heard that this was an exceptional restaurant and it lived up to its reputation. Exceptional food and the service was also exceptional. My only issue is that if you don't book at the beginning of the seating session you get less time to eat and spend time together. The number of young children walking around did not help the safety of walking with plates of hot food.
We will be back but now we know that this is a high end restaurant for food and cost but certainly not for ambiance. maybe a children section would be better for all.
Afternoon tea very average if you are gluten free - no hot savoury food options at all, 2 sandwich choices, stale rice crackers and anything else that the chef very kindly tried to rustle up on the day which was very little. The hot savoury choices were very basic no sophistication for the price. Our table faced the staff setting up for a wedding the whole time we were there which was very distracting. The 3.30-5pm was too rushed to eat and chat to friends as well. Added to this at 3 minutes past 5pm we were very kindly asked to leave so that the staff could finish setting up for the wedding. The sweet offering looked amazing. The crepes (which were gluten free) were the highlight. After having eaten at many high teas and afternoon teas in Perth Epicurean with it's premium price point was disappointing - I expected more.
We booked dinner for our Company Christmas Celberation.
To our disspapointment, we got to leave 7.30pm ( only manage to have 1 and half hours of the buffet). we are not inform about the time limit. otherwise we might plan something different for that day.
The seafood arent fresh.
The whole dining experience didnt reflect in price charged.
Food was excellent but at $70 per person I think tea or coffee should be included. It is also disappointing that you feel rushed to eat in 2 hours when often you would like time to relax and talk with the people you go with in between mains and desert. But it is a lovely venue and beautiful food
The latest complex is spectacular but the buffet is like any other- commercial. I would rather have spent the money at Nobu or Modo Mio so we would have had awesome food for the money spent- not average and dry and mass produced. And finding out that the food may go to waste after is even worse.
My partner had never been there so it was an experience but I’m not sure what sort.
My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary and it was a beautiful lunch together with amazing service. We probably don’t eat enough to get value for money at the buffet as it’s very expensive, but the food we did have was delicious and fresh. A great day out.
Food was exceptional
Service was ok
The big disappointment was sitting in the corner near the toilets and the smell coming from the floor grates was very off putting
The staff was apologetic and we were given a discount which was appreciated but the problem needs to be fixed
I will go again just won't be sitting in the back corner
Very disappointed with the food quality and service given the price. Waited 20 mins for someone to take a drink order and then never return for any further drink orders. Had one drink in 2 hours! It was very loud in the restaurant so hard to talk. Incredibly overpriced for what it was. Won’t be back.
This was our second visit. Food was superb. Thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. Especially the birthday lady who was presented with a cake with candle and happy birthday wish.
There are a couple things that could have made it excellent
1) Waiting in a queue to access the restaurant with cleaners coming back and forth - facilities could be more accommodating.
2)The chairs were so heavy it made it very difficult for two members of our party to move them without assistance. Why do chairs have to be so low?
3) Some of the food was not very hot and chilled before being consumed.
Went there with friends for afternoon tea which I had been looking forward to weeks. Before children one of our repeated restaurants was the Atrium, particular for the dessert bar. So when afternoon tea was announced at epicurean I thought 'yes, let's do it'. While everything was enjoyable at the venue unfortunately I was very ill an hour later with gastro. My friends and a colleague that I ran into had no problems. On a positive note I lost 2kgs, rather than putting on 2kg!
I had a good night there for dinner, as a catch up with a friend. The restaurant seems very family friendly, and the staff were very polite and friendly. Sometimes though, the staff seemed a little vacant to us, because when we first arrived and were seated, we were left waiting at our table for quite some time, to order first drinks before our meal. Apart from that, the food was varied, well presented, and offered nice selections for multi-cultural tastes.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience dining at the Epicurean. The range and quality of food was exceptional as was the creative presentation. We never felt crowded in and appreciated the lack of queues. This was definitely the best buffet meal we have ever had and we hope to return next month with our grandson to celebrate his 12th birthday. We know he will find it an 'epic' experience!
As an overall experience it is wonderful, food drinks and service all okay . Always happy to go back to a restaurant where you know that this is going to be given. We where so lucky to be placed at a table for four in a quiet part of the room where we could have a pleasant conversation without having to shout.
