We came in and had a group so ordered almost everything on the menu. EVERYTHING was amazing! Favorite Appetizers were the pastrami and the croquettes. My entree was the gnocchi and it was great!

Kelsey was the best server I’ve ever had, and made the meal not only pleasurable, but phenomenal! The craft cocktails and service were 2nd to none! I’ll be going back again, and can’t wait to try more of the menu selections!

Tried beef tongue, salmon spread, mussels, gnocchi & pot de creme. The standouts were the mussels & dessert. I would return for those and the gran reserva cava. Those items made the meal. I wouldn't recommend the other items because they were just not omg-deadly-delicious. I expected more creativity & oomph for the apps & mains, given the Bolsa team legacy & pricing. Loved the updated screen patio!

Great spot! Has some of the food that was on the Bolsa menu. We sat on the patio had the charcuterie board, bacon wrapped dates and the redfish. Great meal.

First time retuning to site of former Bolsa. The vibe is still there, and so is the food. The turkey leg entree was outstanding, as was the date appetizer. Gnocci was very good, if a bit of a small portion. No bread basket, which was a surprise. House Cabernet @ $15.00 a glass on the outer limits of reasonable,

Our server was delightful. We shared the mussels, a flatbread, and fish. We were very happy with everything we got. The portion for the mussels was huge! The broth was amazing! Only wish there was more bread to soak it all up with! The flatbread was tasty and the fish was perfectly cooked and I loved the purée that came underneath. Overall a great experience and would be happy to come back.

Not that impressed. But the cornbread appetizer was very unexpected and delicious!! Good cocktails too. Had the Turkey leg entree did not like it that much. The service was also slow, but it's a new restaurant so I blamed it on that.

Service was slow and spotty but it was a busy evening! Good atmosphere and pretty decor. The meat heavy dishes were cooked well, but lacked depth of flavor and the veggie/side pairings with the entrees didn’t hit the mark. Flavor profiles were lackluster.

Another great meal and experience at Encina. Normally I’d not order a turkey leg since I always think of the State Fair variety, but after twice having it be the number one recommendation, I gave it a try. REALLY good and more than enough leftover for the next day’s lunch that tasted as good or even better!

If you’re missing Bolsa, give this place a try!

So happy this place opened up in Bolsa’s old spot. They have an awesome menu with great variety. I got the turkey leg and oh man what a treat it was the best. Great selection of entrees and appetizers. Wonderful atmosphere. Welcome to the neighborhood.

It’s quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite!! We had a great experience! Thoughtful farm to table menu, wonderful service, and the space is lovely and lively (especially on the patio where we were seated on a gorgeous fall evening).

Mussels—flavorful and enough for tow or three to share.
Black-eyes pea fritters were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Think blackened pea falafel.

Field salad had the sweet surprise of candies pecans to balance the tart vinaigrette. Wonderfully fresh greens. Also enough for the table to share.

The rich gnocchi is a favorite—you’ll want some bread to soak up the Mushroomy goodness.

I was sad to hear when Bolsa closed, but very pleased to see that the replacement with Encina provides a similar if not better experience!

The atmosphere is comfortingly similar and seemed to be spruced up a bit. Possibly new fabric on the banquettes and beige tablecloth‘s rather than paper covered white ones made for a subdued, casual-elegant feel.

Most importantly, the food was equally as good or better than anything I had ever eaten at Bolsa! And the service was fantastic!

Definitely worth a visit! Go now!

Amazing restaurant with great staff, Food was amazing and well worth the money. The Beef tartare was great and well priced. The veal was well made and paired excellently. We also ordered the turkey which was very large and a good dish. I would recommend trying this restaurant.

While Encina felt familiar, we experienced a completely new menu and enjoyed every bit of it. We were lucky enough to speak to the owner and head chef to understand what Encina meant to him and how it will be reflected in the menu and atmosphere.

Outstanding. We came for dinner on Friday night, just their third night open. You'd never guess this was a new restaurant based on the service and food. Everything ran as expected and was very good.

We started with the mussels, which were very fresh and in and in a delicious broth. The dish was well seasoned and came with slices of the most perfect bread to have with it: it was grilled and buttered, solid enough to stand up to the sauce and then melts in your mouth when dipped in that amazing broth. We REALLY enjoyed these and would definitely order again.

For my main I had the fish, which was red snapper and amazing! It was paired with a broccoli puree which was also tasty, as well as a lentil side that was tossed in a vinaigrette. Everything was so tasty and I was very pleased. The flavors are excellent and very well seasoned.

My partner had the NY Strip steak. He kept telling me I had to try it, so finally he put a piece on my plate and I was blown away. This NY Strip absolutely melted in my mouth and was SO WELL SEASONED. I'm not a huge steak person and I would definitely order this.

We really enjoyed our meal here and will be coming back frequently.

We attended a Mammogram Poster Girls event so I don't believe it was open to the public yet. Every.Little.Thing. was just wonderful from the food to the ambiance to the people who worked there and the owner. I cannot wait to return!
