Emilia's Crafted Pasta - Aldgate
Emilia’s Aldgate is a fresh pasta restaurant located in the City within a few minutes walk of Aldgate and Aldgate East tube stations. It's our second restaurant following on from our first critically acclaimed and award winning restaurant in St Katharine Docks.
At Emilia’s all our pasta is made fresh every morning in full view of passers-by and served from our fully open kitchen, combining the warmth and welcome of an Italian kitchen with the theatre and passion behind our pasta.
When the weather permits we also have al fresco dining on our terrace.
Our restaurant has a mixture of chef’s table bar counter seating, bar tables, shared tables, casual seating, tables and an outdoor area. For any specific requirements please call the restaurant directly or email us on email@example.com
Soft lighting, wooden tables and benches, an open kitchen all added to the lovely evening meal we had here. Delicious pasta, between us we had all the dishes and no one was disappointed.
Good wine to accompany the pasta. Great Burratta too, you can taste the quality.
Good food, reasonably priced but limited selection and not the largest of portions. Nothing negative to report but lacked the wow factor I was hoping for. Worth a visit if around but Il Bordello just over in Wapping would be my recommendation.
Inevitably food that tasted great
Great food, excellent service and good value.
An interesting selection of lovely pastas and a good lunch time offer
I went on recommendation, however I felt that the cost for a small plate of pasta albeit a tasty one was expensive. Also the limited wine choice was expensive so we went for a house white which was just ok.
A small restaurant in a corporate-feeling area of town, with a great simple menu where brevity=quality. Delicious pasta dishes and starters/salads, and a limited wine menu. Good value for money.
Sadly very disappointed on this visit. The carbonara was so al dente it was inedible, a new was made but the sauce was just awful and not reminiscent of a carbonara in the slightest. Left hungry, will not be returning.
Superb restaurant! Really good, simple fresh pasta at a more than affordable price. I’ve eaten in really high end Italians that have fancy pasta with all sorts of exquisite ingredients but honestly sometimes I just want a simple pasta without paying an arm and a leg. Really friendly staff that care about every customer.
Locale non molto accogliente. Mi aspettavo di più. Casereccie al pesto non eccezzionali.
The experience was good but did not blow my mind. My pasta was good but the wife had the tuna pasta and she could not taste any tuna in there. The service was good but we had to wait quite long to get the bill. Might not go back in the future.
Brilliant service. Authentic Italian food but would love to see Gluten Free options on the menu! Thanks
Food came out very slowly, we had to chase multiple times for our food and drinks. In the end, the mains took around 45mins to arrive. The original Emilia’s pasta food was much nicer. They also ran out of two out of around six desserts and it wasn’t even 9pm.
I really loved the food very homemade.
The only complaint I have is that pappardelle pasta was very chewy and too al dente for me personally. I struggled to eat it. Regarding the dessert I would have liked some non mainstream options but I guess they are trying to cater to the masses.
I would definitely go back but ask them to cook the pasta much longer and just don't order dessert.
Amazing food and very good value
Authentic pasta. Great place
Pesto caserecce are excellent. Coming from Italy, this was probably the best pasta I've had outside my country at such value. Also service went very far by bringing free dessert for us both to cover a mistake in the pasta order (easily solved)
Excellent eating experience.. from walking in the door and being greeted by employee, seated and drink order taken, was maybe 5 minutes.
Bresaola and burrata salad was very good. Pasta was served "al dente" and was very taste. The dessert "emilia special" was fabulous.
The waitresses was very friendly and helpful.
For sure...see you again.
Would recommend but only under certain circumstances/for certain occasions as a result of good food vs atmosphere/noise/staff
Really nice and fresh pasta! Would definitely come back to try the other dishes.
Portions small, overly priced for just pasta.
The best Italian restaurant in London, authentic cuisine.
The service was first class, was quick and the staff very friendly.
The food was delicious.
We look forward to coming back to our new favourite restaurant soon.
So glad we finally tried Emilia's. We desperately needed an Italian in the area. Emilia's is a perfect new local for me. Will definitely be going back for more visits.
Alles hat gepasst.
This is our go-to place for pasta. I love it every time! Amazing food and very nice staff! I would definitely recommend.
I’ve been meaning to try Emilia’s for ages and finally did. The food was delicious and really good value, and the staff were lovely. There were three of us and we had the Bolognese, carbonara and mushroom with walnut sauce. All of them were fab. Can’t wait to go back!
Great food! Small portions though - can serve a bit more food for the price charged!
We haven't visited for a few months, but were greeted like old friends. The food was as wonderful as ever (though I wonder when they will introduce a few new dishes...) and the staff (led by the fantastic Maria) looked after us as our two children very well. We will return.
Great pasta, except the salmon ones, my friend did not enjoy. Price is excellent! Our waiter however was not friendly at all
The lamb ravioli was amazing. However, the pappardelle pasta was undercooked which did injustice to the bolognese.
Great food, served by a friendly team.
Have been to the other restaurant by Tower Hill and the food is always great.
Delicious food and very good portion sizes. One of the best Italians for fresh pasta that we have been to in London (and we’ve been to a lot!) Highly recommended.
Vacationing in London. Had a DIVINE experience! The food was A* and the service as well.
Work this restaurant into your agenda!
Homemade pasta—-the ravioli was over the top yum! The heirloom tomato and burrata was perfection along with the toasted bread. Great selection of cocktails and wine. The affogato and lemonciello were the perfect ending to a scrumptious dinner!Buon Appetito!!
Waitresses were nice but too inattentive to the point we thought we had to order at the counter. Food was not bad but didn’t feel very special for a restaurant that is meant to specialise in pasta.
Good value for money and food was nice
Found the pancetta a little salty and we were not offered the dessert menu. Overall a great atmosphere and we loved that we weren’t bothered to leave or asked often how the food was and if we needed help. Enjoyed it! Thanks!
Service was a little slow at first but food was excellent. The burrata and pastas were delicious. Desserts were large but I was hoping for tiramisu or chocolate cake!
A great find and the food was absolutely fantastic!
highly recommended, excellent pasta, excellent service, nice environment, nice and lively !!!! if you want to eat good Italian food, come here !!!!
Fab food, quick service, great value. Really lovely for a quick lunch.
Pasta & desserts were amazing!
