ELY BAR & GRILL
Amazing food and great restaurant. A brilliant experience!
Very nice pre-theatre menu. Food was very good. Service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive.
Sadly we were not told there was only the option of a per theatre menu as we would not have booked if we had known. As we had eaten there before we were really looking forward to the meal and were disappointed at the quality of the menu options the rib eye steak was served with chips and a plain green salad not at all to the standard of past meals at the Ely Gar & grill sadly. As it was a special occasion we were disappointed.
Beautiful food, great staff and great atmosphere, would recommend and return.
We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Great food, great atmosphere and very well looked after by Alex. The hours just slipped by as four of us caught up with stories and updates of the last couple of years .
The venue, atmosphere, service and food are quite good, still a bit overpriced from my point of view. However, nice place to spend summer noons. Thanks
The food was just perfect, as was the service
Excellent hospitality, and friendly service . Good good and good value will return with my family over the summer
This is a lovely restaurant with very good food and attentive service. The wine vaults are beautifully renovated and the food and service match the decor.
Lovely food , steak lovely and done to perfection, starter we had bread , lovely mixture of tasty breads . Service excellent ! But I had the pan fried Hallibut in a sauce I could not understand why it was served in this very watery and milky like sauce ! There was one very small piece of fish surrounded by floating bits of fishy nut like pieces ! Then I’m left with a bowl of watery sauce ! Like something you’d have to drink ! There was no chips or potatoes to accompany it . I did order some chips on the side . So at the end I dipped my chips in to soak up some of it ! Disappointing! The dessert was to die for , was Apple tart or some thing to share
Ronan, Baji and the team were excellent.
Our waiter was extremely helpful and friendly.
Couldn't have had a better birthday meal for my mother
Ein schlechter, eigentlich nicht vorhandener Service hat den Abend zu einem enttäuschenden Erlebnis werden lassen. Obwohl das Essen und das Ambiente sehr gut waren.
My meal was amazing, the steak.
My mom's meal was okay - bit bland, salmon
My sisters' meal was tasty, starter & fries
The wine was incredible!
We have eaten here on several occasions and every time we have gone we always have a great time.
The staff are extremely helpful and are always making sure you have everything.
The food is outstanding and fresh.
Always a nice atmosphere and restaurant is spotless.
Will definitely be back again.
i would especially recommend this restaurant for large groups, it is spacious and nice to have a corner all to ourselves
Great restaurant! Excellent food and service at very good prices for Dublin.
Over priced for what we got! Starter and dessert were very disappointing. We got the smoked salmon to start which was just a slice of smoked salmon and half a slice of bread. We got the cherry & almond tart for dessert which was more of a sponge than a tart and extremely dry. I got the rib eye steak for main which was nice, my partner got the beef cheek which was mediocre. Overall disappointing for the price we paid! Service was adequate but without a smile.
Visited for a meal before a concert in the 3 Arena. Very busy and good ambience, service was excellent and the food off the pre theatre menu was OK although we would have preferred the a la carte. Only a 15 minute walk to the arena so a good place to eat if that is where you are heading but even if not well worth a visit if you are in Dublin.
We actually went to the wrong Ely bar . Nobody indicated this to us when we arrived . Then I had an email next day from open table to sat we were a no show . The restaurant is ideal for pre concert , good value and fast service - we will go back
Eat at Ely Bar & Grill before concert in the 3 arena. The food and service were great and the atmosphere was just what you want as part of a night out
Exzellent Food, very friendly staff, Perfect Service
Prompt service on a concert night. Well organized and friendly service.
Good selection of food and wine, staff very attentive and friendly
Very limited and not very exciting menu. It was a pre theatre menu but still a bit uninspiring. I ordered a roast chicken meal.... I NEVER order chicken when out, but nothing else appealed to me. Food was grand, tasted pleasant, nothing to complain about really. Just a bit boring. Didnt even bother with desserts as choices terrible. Wouldn't go back again.
We had a fantastic experience, really enjoyed our evening. We had friends over from the UK who where very impressed. We will definitely be revisiting and recommending to others.
We felt rushed and the quality of the food was very poor for the price of it
Terrace seats are great on nice day.
Good selection of wine/beer
Bar man very professional
Food quite nice
Slight problem with the bill when settling up, I paid my bill, finished our drinks, ordered another drink and paid in cash, then a waiter asked us to pay for whole lot again?
Staff communication breakdown which is a pity because otherwise they were great and it wasn’t that busy.
Overall though I would definitely recommend
Great restaurant. The food was excellent and service was top notch. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Our party of 4 was going to a concert in the 3Arena and we’re behind schedule due to very heavy traffic. Our waiter was very accommodating & rushed our order through. Burgers were good, French fries a bit disappointing but we were very happy to get in & out so quickly.
Definitely recommend for a pre theatre meal. Lovely atmosphere, food lovely if a little bit bland but really enjoyed it and would definitely come back.
Great food, helpful staff, fast service when needed as we were running late and had only a short time before the theatre. Will definitely revisit !
The service was not great. We ordered desert with tea and coffee but it did not arrive for a significant time and we had to ask where it was. Then we asked for the bill and again this took a long time. The restaurant was not busy at the time so we didn't understand why it was taking so long. It felt as if the waitress kept forgetting about us. Normally I'm a generous tipper but I did not tip as the service was not good enough.
It hasn't put me off going to Ely again as overall the experience is good. However if the the service has not improved the next time, I may decide to go elsewhere in future.
Perfect for our last night in Ireland
Setting of the restaurant is first class , all the areas sectioned off in different vaults. Couldn’t fault service, food or ambiance. Maybe a little expensive, however well worth the money, definitely getting value for money. Thumbs up with out hesitation.
Super food salad very poor
Have been to Ely bar and grill, and it has been great. Really nice setting for a place, great food get wines.
On this occasion however we weren't as impressed.
We arrived a few minutes early and were shown to our table.
The restaurant didn't appear that busy.
We were quickly told the soup of the day and given the menus.
The menu didn't have a lot of options on it and we were not given an ala carte menu.
We ordered the starters and received them very quickly.
Before even our drinks had arrived to the table.
The starters were very nice.
We find our starters and sat back to relax.
We had both ordered the rib eye steaks.
The steaks arrived shortly after the starters. I was a bit underwhelmed as the steak itself was quite small, it didn't look like the same size steak I had ordered.
It was cooked well, a little under seasoned for my liking.
I checked the time and we were only in the restaurant for 30 minutes. Great if you were in a hurry and starving, but we wanted to have a nice relaxed meal in a nice restaurant.
The whole experience felt a bit cold and rushed.
The staff were quite attentive, our water was always topped up.
We're hoping it was just a bad night as we really like the place, but if this is the way the restaurant is going in not sure how often we'd be back.
I had the coronation chicken wrap and extra side salad. It was nice adn flavoursome but the wrap was quite small. I was hungry a short time later. Not much chicken in the wrap either. Otherwise all was good, and good service.
Love the sandwich of the day. They make their own bread, focaccia and sour dough which is so fresh and delicious. Good value too for the quality. Friendly staff. Really bright and airy upstairs. Downstairs is really nice too. Think its an old wine cellar.
Delicious! The ribeyes were yummy! Steamed green beans and Parmesan and truffle chips were great! Our server was great. Cannot beat the atmosphere
The Food was amazing! When we are in dublin next time we will go there once again!
