The best greek restaurant in Jersey
Excellent! Service with a smile
Appetizers = 10. Entrees = 5 at best. Very pretty decor, nice music, overall great vibe..Trendy vibes..Great service!
The food is always delicious. On this particular night, the restaurant was packed and was outrageously noisy! People were actually yelling...hard to hear each other. Very, very loud music...don't mind the music if it's more background. Also, took hours to get our food. I've been here several times and normally the flow is right on but on this visit, we had a long wait between courses. The waiter was less than attentive. Hoping for a better service experience next time.
Music way, way too loud and they would not lower it. So difficult to talk to the person sitting next to you or hear the waiter recite the dinner specials
Food was amazing. Nuff said
Excellent service and a very relaxing time. Had a great Birthday!
Had an issue w/ I assumed was the owner. He came across very rude. Said my wife’s car was left w/ the wrong keys. When we told him it wasn’t us. And when we suggested it might be another vehicle, the owner said the car is going to be towed.
We loved Elia! The ambiance is what really sets this place apart. You truly feel like you are in the Mediterranean. Beautiful white-washed walls, lovely decor, even beach umbrellas in the restaurant! The food was delicious. We got the Greek spreads and Pita as an appetizer. The spicy feta was so good I could've eaten it alone with a spoon. For entrees, we got the vegan risotto and mediterranean pasta respectively. Both were fresh and delicious. Everything, in general, was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. We will definitely be back, and highly recommend. While the food is very pricey, you certainly get what you pay for.
Fabulous meal. Great food in a beautiful setting. Expensive at about $170 a couple
Elia is beautiful! Reminded me of eating in Greece, tranquil music, gorgeous setting, patio umbrellas. Food was amazing...the shrimp appetizer, and octopus! Waiter was wonderful.
Always a great meal. Food is fresh and delicious. Service friendly.
The ambience, lighting, seating, etc is lovely and easeful. The food DELICIOUS! I ordered the branzino (different in Greek) and it was the best I've had in a while, fresh, delicate, flavorful and tender and the Horta was perfect. Service and wait staff were lovely too. Thank you! I look forward to dining there again soon.
Our waiter Ahmed was pleasant, the food was great!
Outstanding service, exquisite food & drinks in a beautiful setting!
This restaurant is very pricey. The lamb chops, scallops, grilled octopus and fall/winter salad were excellent. However, the skirt steak was chewy and the potatoes were too hard. You cannot substitute without being charged extra. In my opinion considering their high prices, substitution should be complimentary. The acoustics are loud, therefore I would not recommend for a romantic dinner.
The food was excellent. Unfortunately it was a Saturday night and they were understaffed. The background music was head pounding. To bad because the fish was fresh and terrific!
Great experience over all. Servers were very professional, food plated great with detail and tasting amazing. Great vibe. Long wait though but it was packed!
Went here for 8.30p reservation on Valentine's Day. Being how busy they were, not being seated until 8.45p wasn't a huge deal. EXCELLENT food. Everything we had was delicious. Tuna tartare, ouzo shrimp, and Mediterranean chop salad appetizers, half chicken and skirt steak dinner, and walnut baklava dessert. Will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone who loves food.
Food was great and service was phenomenal. Very attentive staff. Went on Valentine’s Day so the restaurant was very busy. Witnessed male owner stressing out on his staff. He probably could have been and should have been nicer to his staff who were all busting their butts off to service the guests. Our water glasses never went empty and the timing of the courses went without a hitch.
This restaurant is outstanding! It most definitely is my new favorite spot.
Excellent dinner. The timing and flow of courses was just right as well.
We live locally and would come for lunches. However, your lunch choices
for grilled fish look sparse on your web site. As a comparison, we like to
lunch at Il Villagio in Carlstadt. They consistently have 6 to 8 fresh fish dishes
offered week-days for lunch.
Thank you for the review. We are a fish restaurnt and we have over 10 daily on a display at all times in the restaurant. Maybe the menu wasn't that clear and I will like for you to join us so we can show you the daily catches. Thank you Mgmt
Great food, great service, beautiful restaurant! I felt like I was in Greece!
I absolutely LOVE Elia!! It's become my favorite restaurant. I've now been there twice. The ambiance is GORGEOUS - I want to move in :-). Menu is scrumptious and lots to choose from even for a vegetarian. My fiance said the steak was out of this world! The presentation of the food is perfection. And for me it's 10 minutes from my home which is an added bonus. As soon as you walk in it's like magically stepping into an elite restaurant in NYC! And the music made me feel as though I were at the spa! We had an early Valentine's dinner there after a very long hectic day at work. My experience at Elia just took all my stress away. I would and DO recommend Elia to all my friends and family!
Great food and great atmosphere
Dining at Elia is great. The food is outstanding, the DJ is awesome and generates a cool vibe. My only beef is with the service we had this weekend. We dined at Elia on Saturday night and the appetizer and one of our party's dishes came out of the kitchen cold. We ate the appetizer without saying anything because it still tasted delicious, but when our friend's dish was cold, she mentioned it. The waiter said we should have told him about the appetizer but he took back her main course to redo it. That was very nice, but in the meantime, the rest of our party ate our dishes and the waiters removed our plates before my friend was even half-way through her new dish that arrived later. Waiters should never remove plates before everyone is finished dining. Otherwise the rest of the party still eating feels rushed. The manager happened to be sitting at the next table eating with friends and my friend who had the cold dish mentioned our experience to him. He didn't seem too concerned and I was a little surprised that he didn't offer to send over a dessert on the house as a nice gesture. We are frequent diners at the restaurant and have introduced many of our friends to Elia so the manager's indifference to our experience was a little offputting.
This was my third time at Elia and it was very disappointing. It was very busy and the dining room was quite loud. We ordered a few appetizers that were very good, but our dinners were not. Scallops were under cooked, brussel sprouts were soggy and overpowered with spices, the fish was drowned in butter and oil. etc. etc. Not sure if I ever need to go back.
Love the place!
The food is fresh, the staff is professional and friendly and the decor is bright and clean.
I love their fish. I started with clams on the half shell and had the seared scallops as my main course. My husband started with the trio of humus dips and had lemon shrimp as his main course. The waiter recommended a J Pinot noir, it was a great accompaniment. No, we didn’t stop there, dessert was little fried pastry balls in a honey sauce. A perfect ending to a great meal! I’ll be back!!
Amazing food and drinks . Antonio was exceptional!
Greek music should Added to the current selection And be played
Great!! Good was amazing
Exceptional modern Greek fare. Huge fresh fish display to choose from.
Looking forward to our next visit to Elia.
Food was delicious and service was excellent!
Love Elia’s!!! Great place, great food, great service nothing like Elia’s in this area! We’ll be back 😉
Excellent food and dining space. The staff are wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The mussels with tomato sauce should be served with a heel I'd bread the sauce is that good! Best place to eat in the area
Elia never disappoints — the quality of the seafood, creative cocktails and ambience, which is enhanced by the DJ. The vibe in great (like upscale NYC restaurant or cocktail bar in Europe), and you would never know you’re in Bergen County.
Had a great time. Will definitely be returning. Tank you for a lovely evening.
Decided to take my customer to Elia for dinner and had such an amazing experience. My customer commented that it was like having dinner at a restaurant in NYC. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The wine list was extensive and carried really nice wines. The Chef even came to our table to introduce himself... very classy. Looking forward to another dinner at Elia.
Took my customer to Elia for a business lunch and they loved it. The Farro & Black Eyed Pea salad with jumbo shrimp was amazing. We’ll definitely be back!
The food is amazing with excellent service
Definitely we will be back
