Black Lives Matter
It is not safe to be in your city and have a normal dinner . Your mayor needs to stand up for the business owners of Washington DC.
It is absolutely a disgrace for this to happen in our nations capital.
Hannah was amazing!
Our waitress was amazing!
We had a party of 8 and rolled in on a Sunday @ 3:00. There was only one bartender and I server/host. While waiting to be seated, another party of 8-10 got up and walked out. They advised that they had been waiting 15 min to get a drink order put in. As per other reviews, I believe this was simply a staffing issue. The place had a cool feel to it and there was a lively atmosphere with the soccer game on.
Fun place to watch Barcelona soccer match! This is the official fan club of FCB to watch all soccer matches. Staff and service are great.
The food was good, but the service was horrible. I think they were understaffed this day and we waited an hour to get our food. We were sat right at the door (almost in the aisle), so every time someone walked in or out, we got a significant chill.
Had horrible service from Sanne who made us feel bad by sitting in her area and like we were pests. She was rude and was very short with us. We spent $200 on our bill and were treated like crap.
I work nearby. Great for after work social gathering. Very large servings for their happy hour appetizers. Good customer service from the waiter. I’ll definitely go back with friends after work.
Food was good. Ambiance great. The noise level during Happy Hour was extreme, it was very hard to have a conversation.
Elephant and Castle was a great pick! The service was great and the food was really good!
I made reservations for 6 people for a fairly important business meeting. When we got there, our table had apparently been given away to a group that walked in. Without any apology or alternative offered, we were taken to the high chair section next to the bar and a few tables were hurriedly pushed together. Needless to say it was very uncomfortable trying to get all those full meal plates onto little bar tables.
Tasty pub-like casual food. Nice draught & drink list. We enjoyed our lunch there.
Our waitress Jessie was great and patient with our large rambunctious group of brunchers. The food was much tastier than I expected. We were there on the early side for brunch, so there weren't many people there -- might be different when they're busy, but I'd definitely return.
Server was not great - not very attentive. Food was good.
Went on Friday night. Group of 8. Very loud but expected in pub. Waiter seemed preoccupied in that he’d dash over to us, say something like “ all ok?” Then dash away before we could respond. More than once we had to shout him down or back to table for requests. It was almost as if he was annoyed we were there. So that part disappointing.
I met up here for lunch with colleagues that I had not seen in a long time. Our food was good and served quickly. We enjoyed our meal. One suggestion is for the restaurant to check their wine as I had a glass, which was stale and I had to send it back. That was the only incident that I wanted to flag, but other than that, I will definitely return for lunch.
Although it's been 40 years since I've visited England, Elephant & Castle brought back some memories. The brunch was outstanding, the banger huge, and the bacon to die for!
Good food great service I w recommend and return soon
There are not a lot of restaurants that come to mind in downtown DC for a small or medium sized group of colleagues dining for lunch that need to make reservations and be able to hear each other talk at a table. This place was perfect for that.
Very british feel. Good for watching Football and for relaxed socializing.
The business dinner with colleagues was ok. The restaurant/bar was very understaffed which they made a point to tell us, so service was below than mediocre. It was our first time, so this did not leave a great impression with the group. There were no waters for all of the guests (15-18 people) drinks took a while to come out, food did as well. It had the potential to be a great night, but unfortunately the sudden change in available waiters/waitresses was not communicated from the beginning and it ended up hurting the experience. Management could have better handled this sudden change by having water pitcher and glasses already on the tables, or by presetting the area better, etc. Additionally for a trivia night, it was not that packed.
If you just wanna get a beer - great spot - food is lackluster as well as service - wont be back anytime soon
