Everything was great.
Great little neighbourhood gem. Definitely be heading back.
Authentic Greek food with lovely service, can't wait to go back.
I love how the chef came to check if we need more bread! Thank you and your lovely greetings
Great spot.. service was excellent , great food... felt like Greece .... actually outstanding . We had Elemis banquet , generous serving for all
This is the fourth time we’ve been to this restaurant & while the food is great authentic Greek food their table service is poor. Twice we’ve ended up with entree & mains all arriving together or so close together it’s too hard to enjoy it all. Secondly 2 of our mains arrived together & 2 came 10 minutes later! I thought good etiquette required them to all arrive together. I had to ask where the other meals were! Thirdly our plates were cleared while 1 person was still eating..very poor!! Lastly we were upstairs where there is no ambience at all. No pictures on the walls or anything to add atmosphere & it’s extremely noisy.
Great service by everyone Thankyou we will be back again 👋
Banquet was really tasty. Service was fantastic. Only critisism is that the desserts were a bit dry, there was not enough syrup. Will definetly come back though.
Highly recommend Eleni’s Kitchen & Bar.
Casual, comfortable, staff with a permanent smile, will bend over backwards to please you, lovely atmosphere and really good food!
Hostesses with mostest!!
Outstanding food. Authentic. Consistently great food
Great food and service and close to home. First trip to this local gem. Will be going back
We really enjoyed it, food was incredibly good but we had a very small table near the stairs and kitchen which was not so nice.
The food is very good, but as the prices are quite high (a bowl of olives is $18) you also expect the service & ambience to be excellent. I'd like to emphasise that there was nothing about this experience that was bad, and I cannot fault the food, which was all good, but due to the high prices we had high expectations, and I've experienced better atmosphere, and service, at places where the prices are not so high. Service was not rude, but a bit haphazard - we had been there for ages before we attracted the waiter's attention to take a drink order, by then we were hungry so we said "we'll order drinks and some entrees" & started by ordering entrees - and he walked away before we could order drinks! We had to prompt him, when delivering entrees, to stop and take our drink order, and when the wine was brought to the table, we were already halfway through our entrees so I intended to order our mains, but he was off again like a shot before I could say anything. We had to stare him down so that we could order our mains. It became kind of funny. By all means try it yourself - as I said the food was very good, and perhaps the poor guy had something going on that was distracting him that night.
Finally an alternative to driving out to Oakleigh. First time visitor and very impressed with the food. The meat especially was a treat - in fact all of the dishes were great.
Great food, good service, we had a few of the entrees, as more as a tapas style, just needed a small lamb and pork entree plate to make it perfect.
We were really looking forward to trying Eleni's for dinner. The food was nice. It wasn't out of this world but I wasn't really expecting it to be until I saw the prices. I had the chicken gyros ($28) and there was too much on my plate. I suggest they make the servings smaller and charge less. None of us finished our food. Also the bread that was served with the dips was was too hard and chewy. They should serve it with their lovely pita bread. We also ordered the saganaki with figs and what we got was crumbed fried cheese on a stick which was just rubbery and not very pleasant to eat. My vegetarian friend ordered the cabbage rolls which were watery and flavourless with hardly a grain of rice in them - she said she wouldn’t eat there again as a vegetarian as the options weren't great.
I think they should stick to traditional Greek food. I was gobsmacked that they charged $8 for a bottle of Purezza mineral water. We had three bottles so that was $24. Purezza is offered for free at several cafes I have been to so I thought this was really quite ridiculous and a rip off. FYI it's kind of like an inbuilt sodastream system so it really was a blatant rip off. For $8 I'd be expecting Sanpelligrini or similar.
Overall I was disappointed in the food but the service was very nice. I think they should tweak their menu and prices a bit and they could be on to a real winner.
Sublime banquet - best calamari I have had, friendly staff, priced well, great food.
We went there for a birthday. The service was efficient and friendly. i thought the food was okay but nothing special. At $59 per head I probably expected more.
Great Place the food is awesome, Value for Money, Staff are Great and very friendly will go back again loved the place, will recommend to all my friends
Delicious tradional Greek food, with lovely, warm and friendly service. The stuffed eggplant was a stand out!
I’ve been looking forward to going to Eleni’s since it opened. I love Greek food. My friend’s birthday was the perfect opportunity for the three of us to share a great night of food and beautiful wine.
The fish was superb and I loved the meat platter too.
Thanks, and I’ll be back.
Lovely venue and friendly attentive staff. We ordered the banquet which I dont think was worth the $ - perhaps individual meals next time.
The ice cream though, was gorgeous!
Great food and service. We had the banquet which left us full and satisfied, I loved calamari.
Food was authentic and very tasty. Full of wonderfull flavours. Service was terrific and the food was just enough for a banquet. Not too little, not too much. Was a little noisy inside but that didn’t distract from the experience. The only gripe I would have is it’s a tad expensive, for example we ordered a second serving of bread as the first serving was no where near enough to enjoy with the dips and we we’re charged $8. Not a lot of bread mind you. Still would recommend to a friend.
Every few months we catch up with close friends for a meal. We generally look for good value (not cheap), good service and good ambience. Eleni's kitchen delivered all three aspects. We chose the banquet, which provided plenty of food (and some to takeaway), the service and attentiveness of the staff couldn't be faulted and we liked the rustic decor.
It was also nice of the chef to ask when we would like courses cooked and sent out - and also he came by at the end of the meal to ensure we had enjoyed the meal.
Will be definitely be going again.
Great experience ......................................................:..:
Felt like being in a family restaraunt in Greece. Great feel and food. Generous service
Our new favorite restaurant, we highly recommend Eleni’s.
I was quite disappointed with our dining experience, we were watched over by the waiter which made everyone feel uneasy.
I felt our food choices were rushed due to this!
Also the beverages are too expensive, my first glass of Savignon Blanc was awful, it tasted stale, luckily another waiter realised and brought me out another.
The food is authentic, although too salty!
Great to eat fabulous authentic Greek food, well priced and amazing taste. Just like being in Greece.
Absolutely amazing, fresh, tasty dishes. Will be back for sure...cause I'm just around the corner!
The White Bait and Grilled Octopus are divine! Reminds one of a Greek summer!
Delicious, hearty food. Plenty of it. Friendly and helpful staff. Great to have an excellent Greek restaurant in Yarraville.
