If you're a foodie, you want to know where—and how--your food grew. It's fascinating, it's a good health practice and it provides extra pleasure from everyday experiences, like a meal with friends. elements is the American restaurant serving local steak and seafood, but with global influences in seasoning and cooking methods. A true culinary adventure!
We went to Elements for a birthday dinner and ordered the Grand Tasting Menu,(requested a week in advance). This dinner was really spectacular,as you are presented with many small portions of foods from both land and sea. Each dish is so well thought out and so artfully presented that it transcends anything dinner and becomes an event. We were there for just over 3 hours and were initially a little concerned because both of us arrived pretty hungry and as the first portions arrived,(amuse bouche),we wondered whether we would leave satisfied. As it turned out there was more than enough to eat,(more than 18 small plates). There is so much creativity, thought and skill here that it would be difficult to compare this experience to anything anywhere else.Over the years we have been to some great places,(La Bec Fin,The Saddle River Inn,The Ryland Inn,etc),and our experience at Elements stands apart from all of these places as one of the greats. The chefs walk out to serve and present each dish. The service is very friendly, not stuffy and as accommodating as it could be.It isn't inexpensive,($500+ for two),but for that special dinner that will leave you with some nice memories the Grand Tasting Menu is worth it.
Excellent meal! Had the chef’s 8 course tasting menu, and it was exquisite.
The food is outstanding....fresh, seasonal and delicious. This is one of our favorite restaurants.
Really delicious and inventive, every course a delight for all senses. The whole team is tuned into the diners to a degree I have never experienced before. The read your faces, hesitations, listen to the compliments snd register the learning. Special applause to the sommelier, remarkable choices, deft explanations, even knew how much to pour to assure en enjoyable and not overwhelming experience. The Nova Scotia tuna tartar is ethereal.
Outstanding food presentation, variety and taste explosions were served by an attentive but not obtrusive staff. Absolutely wonderful dining experience!
Highly recommend! The food was outstanding, drinks were delicious, and the staff were kind and professional. Highly highly recommend!
Quite simply the best dining experience in the area.
One of the best meals my wife and I have ever had. Outstanding.
We went to Elements for our Anniversary. As usual, the service was outstanding. One of my favorite things about this place is that they have accommodated my dietary restrictions every single time and have come up with delectable options for me as a vegan. The wine pairings were fantastic. The sommelier has extensive knowledge of the wines being served which further enhances the dining experience.
Really interesting and delicious, unusual fare. Expensive but an experience!
the very best way to catch up with a friend; great food, excellent service, and a quiet, relaxed atmosphere to just chat away and enjoy each other's company;
Best Restaurant in NJ. Every course is amazing. Every wine pairing is perfect Absolutely wonderful. Dress up and enjoy!
Great place for anniversary.
Seemed like endless very delicious bite sized gourmet courses.
Great ambiance and great service.
The 2 beef main courses were served very late and despite apologies, our experience was impacted negatively by the huge delay.
Excellent fine dining experience.
Anniversary dinner was fabulous.smoked quail egg to start, delicious. and it gets better from there. Staff impeccable. Highly recommend.
We had the tasting menu and superior wine pairing. It was a lovely, festive event for a family celebration. Excellent all around.
Everything about the experience at Elements is extraordinary. The room is intimate, gorgeous, and open to the kitchen. The service is very attentive but unobtrusive. The food is the star though. Each course is an inventive blend of flavors creatively presented. I’m vegan and my wife is not. The restaurant is very vegan friendly. They make a complete vegan tasting menu. On top of it all the sourdough bread is the best I’ve ever tasted. Crisp crust, perfect chewiness for the dough. Fantastic. Elements is reasonably priced considering the quality of the food and service. Highly recommended.
We booked a table at Elements to celebrate two May birthdays. The entire staff was attentive and made us feel comfortable and relaxed from the moment we arrived.
We were excited to try the 5 course tasting menu and we were not disappointed. Every dish of the meal was incredible! Each course was presented creatively and an explanation was given by each individual chef. Elements is deserving of at least one Michelin Star (maybe 2)! The entire evening was a very special experience. Thank you!
My husband and I had dinner here on our 42nd anniversary. What a surprise! This was a different restaurant experience than any other. The wide open kitchen was like being in a theater. The atmosphere was very pleasant. It was quiet and service was lovely. It was somewhat formal but not at all snobbish. The food was pricey but really delicious. Portions are a bit small, but we actually went home with leftovers, probably because we ate all our fabulous house baked bread with cultured butter and sea salt. It was amazing!
As always, Elements was an incredible dining experience. It clearly separates itself from any other fine dining establishment within 50 miles, maybe even in the whole state. It's pricey for sure, but worth the splurge for a special occasion. I will certainly be back for more.
Really enjoyed the food and service. True dining experience. I would suggest offering a small sweet indulgence to finish off the dinner when someone chooses to forego desserts
We brought my Mother in
Tasting menu was notably enhanced by wine choices & background info provided by excellent sommelier
I am from NYC and travel extensively. I was in Princeton for work and picked this restaurant somewhat randomly and based only on a few reviews. The menu is impressive and could compete easily with any fine restaurant in NYC, London or even Paris. Every dish was sophisticated without being overly wrought, delicately prepared and thoughtfully presented. The stars of each dish shined appropriately. Hats off to the chef and kitchen staff. The service was fantastic, too. Wine selection excellent. I can’t believe my good fortune finding this place. I highly recommend to anyone who takes food seriously. I will be back. In fact I vow never to eat anywhere else when I’m in the area.
Excellent date night or special occasion restaurant. Wine pairings are especially thoughtful
Elements is one of the few restaurants in New Jersey that we return to time and time again. We absolutely love everything that Chef Scott Anderson, Chef Mike Ryan, and the whole team do over there to make Elements one of the best restaurants in NJ. If you're looking for a unique dining experience where every element of every dish is carefully and thoughtfully planned out and executed, this is the place for you. They know where all their ingredients come from and most items are foraged by the team. This time we did the Grand Tasting Menu and we would highly recommend it! The wine pairings are always top notch as well (shoutout to their somm Marin!). Elements is on par with some of NYC's best Michelin star restaurants. Thank you to the whole team at Elements for another memorable meal. We'll see you soon! Check out our Instagram @excessiveeaters for our post about our experience!
The meal was easter brunch so perhaps it isn't the best meal to rate food. The brunch meal was good but not exceptional. The price of the wine by the glass seemed very high, e.g. $20.00 for a glass of New Zealand Pinot Noir that is $18.00 a bottle on line.
Even having experienced a number of tasting menu format dinners around the world, I can still confidently say this was one of the most memorable, best value fine dining experiences we have had. The creativity of flavors and presentation combined with the well-suited wine pairings and welcoming service will certainly bring us back. 45 minutes away in NYC, restaurants with similar formats charge 50-100% more and most don’t even come close to the level of execution here. Definitely recommend for anybody looking for a fine meal in Princeton, and I would dare say it’s almost worth a trip there for the meal itself.
Met a candidate for a final interview and it was perfect
Outstanding and innovative cuisine. Attentive service from the chef to the maitre d'. Excellent sommelier.
Amazing tasting experience; a rare find without having to trek into NY or Philly. The service was perfect and food was inventive and delicious...there wasn't one thing we didn't like. If you can't make it out to French Laundry (Napa) - go here, you won't be disappointed!
This is a spectacular restaurant. We drive in from NYC to go there when we can as we prefer it to any of the places we have been since we moved to NYC four years ago. The service is lovely and the food is uniformly delicious and interesting.
Fantastic experience! Awesome sevice, amazing food, and a great way to spend our 20 year anniversary!
Our latest visit involved a set menu and featured the extraordinary wines of Morgato Cellars. Each of the four courses of Chef Anderson's menu was simply phenomenal, including the Kunik cheese for "dessert." Creativity was present in each dish. Elements is always exceptional!
STuffy and full of itself. THe wine by the glass prices were ridiculous! The whole experience was disappointing.
The service was excellent from the start, lots of smiling and plenty of you welcomes. The food was heavenly and it added to our 5th year wedding anniversary, making it one to remember. We will be dinning with Elements again! Please inform your staff that there service is not taken lightly, and every gesture enhanced our time there.
Thank you for a wonderful evening!
The restaurant is on the expensive side and you are subject to a price fix that contains some good parts and some poor courses but you have little choice so subject to both (you pay for the good and the bad). Wine list is very weak for an upscale place like this. And then they decide what you are going to tip them - suddenly at bill paying time they slap you with a 20% service charge (its not on their website nor on the menu) - very poor behaviour - would not recommend this place unless hsppy getting ripped off.
