This space will house the casual café and restaurant offering, where most drinkers and diners will congregate at tables and banquettes.
One room over there will be a small providore-style shop, stocked with coffee, tea, ceramics and a range of other locally produced items.
The menu has always drawn heavily from Julian’s homeland of Colombia, and will continue to do so, with the chef’s second in command being another native Colombian, Verónica Tobón Arango.

We are back in our brand new space with our famous Little and Local event! We are gathering our friends, Barossa’s smallest wine producers, for a fun filled afternoon of wine, pizza and good vibes. On Saturday the 1st of May between 4pm and 8pm spend the evening tasting some of the Barossa’s hidden talents. Pizza oven will be roaring so sit down and enjoy a glass of wine, delicious wood fire pizza and South American tunes. Lovely venue for a coffee and cake or lunch. Great ambiance inside and out.The food is delicious. The staff are excellent both with their service and friendliness. I'd highly recommend El Estanco to anyone.

Outstanding as always. Best place in the Barossa. Very comfortable with children in tow also.
My second time at El Estanco (first for breakfast), and while the options were all enticing, we were underwhelmed with our meals, particularly at $30 each. The coffee was quite weak, and the flies were out having a grand old time. Service was friendly but the food was slow. It's a beautiful spot, but was a bit disappointed this time.

From our run sheet that you were outside, I would have been happy to put you on a table inside if we had known. Our products are locally sourced to the 10th degree, hence the price of our meals, paddock to plate, we try to do justice with our own to the farmers in Barossa Valley with our own twist. Lovely looking place. Sadly the paella came to the table warm-not hot-before we'd finished our tapas starters.
Wait staff seemed quite inexperienced, which is OK but they definitely need some training in the basics of hospitality.

Food was excellent! Nice ambience with wide open glass panels.
2nd visit. Loved the food and atmosphere. First time food was outstanding for lunch. Probably didn't make a great choice this time. Didn't love the French toast but that's just a ordinal opinion.

Was recommended to go here for breakfast. Didn't realise the menu was corn chip related so asked for a substitute (possibly bread) and was declined. Was not advised there would be specials including some dishes without corn until after we had ordered. Then told it was too late.
Disappointing
Hola I'm sorry about your experience; there's been a terrible misunderstanding. Yes, there's 3 items on the menu using corn, these items are a traditional Colombian style meal where corn is a main ingredient but there's also 3 other items on the menu that are not. We also have a cabinet display of pastries, breads and croissant's. Floor staff will be spoken to, too ensure that they're communicating options, including any specials to every guest we have for breakfast. Thank you, Terri

Delicious food and beautiful setting. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxed and luxurious lunch, showcasing fresh produce and Barossa artisans. However, we did find the serving sizes quite small for the prices and the South American influence was not very noticeable. The lunch selections didn't seem to be any different from fare found in any mid-high end 'modern Australian' restaurant.

We generally enjoyed our breakfast at El Estanco. The sourdough toast having a tough crust was fine with the omelette or eggs for example but with the vegan berries it was very disappointing. Coffee and service was great.

Food was absolutely delicious and coffee was some of the best i have ever had (especially the ice late- very creamy and smooth). But food is quite all quite overpriced and serving sizes are small.

Although we arrived on time, it was nearly an hour later before someone was buttonholed to take our food order as they were bringing our drinks to the table. The food was OK but the noise level was far too high for old people with hearing aids. Even though there were not many people present, the design seems to amplify noise from other diners.
All in all, I wouldn't hurry back there.

Choices on the menu were interesting and inviting. I enjoyed the simplicity of my meal; the food was fresh, flavors were 'real', and the presentation was attractive without being contrived. We shared a delicious dessert. Each of us ordered coffee with very different requests. Each came perfectly to order! Much appreciated. The unique touches of special crockery added to the sense of care and pride in what is offered. Wait staff were helpful and engaged pleasantly.
