El Camino Mexican Soul Food - Mezcal & Tequila Bar - Fort Lauderdale
We are committed to offering the freshest organic and local ingredients where possible, and we value local, artisan, indigenous and reclaimed offerings. We are even taking the not so typical step of making our own tortillas, sauces, and anything else possible from scratch. The list of craft cocktails is truly Mexican and includes house made sangritas, a curated selection of agave spirits, a diverse selection of craft and Mexican beers. In the end, it is all about sharing the food with the community of people who enjoy it. Viva México!
Too loud to talk but otherwise great
The noise level was unacceptable, we felt we were yelling across the table. We were only 4 people and we could hardly hear each other. Maybe turn down the music when the entire dining room is full. Also, we felt like we were being rushed so they table could be turned. By the time we left about 9:30 there were a bunch of tables open and was no need to feel like we were on the time clock.
Awesome! Awesome! Pure awesomeness! Pure awesomeness!
One single word on the negative side: “UNNECESSARILY NOISY”. We all know this is a hip place for young crowd but that shouldn’t necessarily mean that you have to dine in a disco. The level of noise corroborated by a blasted rock music selection was so annoying that we all decide to cut it short. Literally no one could have a conversation with the person sitting across the table. Sorry guys but everything has a limit.
Very loud environment but nice vibe.
Very good food. Neighborhood hot spot!
Jackie was awesome!!
The environment is so lively and fun! They seated me with very little wait, my reservation was for 9:15 and I was seated by at least 9:25. The food was outstanding! The pork belly tacos were magnificent. The food came out pretty quick (although I did receive it before my margarita got to me so that wasn't ideal) and it was so good!
Best authentic Mexican cuisine by far in Broward! Definitely on Las Olas Blvd. Food taste so fresh and amazing flavor!
It was raining when we showed up and it seemed like full on chaos. The hostess was trying to move her stand to inside. No one even said anything to us for 10 min as we waited to tell them we had a reservation. Once seated, the place was extremely loud. My tacos fell apart as soon as i got them. Only the waitress was nice
Couldn’t get to the bar for happy hour so we decided to grab and table and it was wonderful . Quick service and never once had to ask for our server
It's a great atmosphere, the music is nice, the food is great and the drinks are good. Me and my friends enjoyed the CBD margaritas a lot. We will be making another visit to try more of the menu.
Food was outstanding and Lucky me there were two servers, Maria and Jeff I believe. They were extremely attentive and got EVERYTHING I needed for my dining experience. The only negatives were woah it was loud and a tad bit pricey overall though I’d go back in a heartbeat!!
Go for taco Tuesday!!! $2 tacos that you can mix and match as much as you want!!! Service is fantastic despite it being so busy!!!!!! Much better than Rocco’s Tacos down the way.
First time here. Nice outdoor seating. Fish and shrimp tacos were ok. The shrimp tacos were very spicy. I was surprised that there were no chips and salsa offered. When I asked for a side of salsa, the server seemed very confused and asked “what kind,” which struck me as odd for a Mexican restaurant. Mostly forgettable food but mexican corn (very small appetizer portion) was tasty.
Second and third time here! Atmosphere is both fun and classy. Love the “industrialize” look with the high ceilings and openness of their space. I especially like their fresh ingredients that go into their food and beverages. The Spicy Avocado Margarita that Cassie made me was the bomb! I will be back again next year!
This was my second time at El Camino. I LOVE this place! The ambiance, the music, the people and the most outstanding food, all contributed to an amazing nice with friends. I must say, I used to think that one of the nearby competitors were good, but El Camino is ten times better. Service was impeccable too, by the way.
Food was not that good, came cold, very noisy ambiance, service is relatively good. I wouldn’t got here for he food, it is a place to hang out.
Our Daughter was in Town
I had a very poor experience, even though I made reservations I hat to wait over 20 min to be seated, I have a child that’s why I make reservations. Staff was not nice accommodating, or friendly about delay. They just kept telling me that they were waiting for a party to leave to sit us. They even called me the day before to confirm. We are in less than 30 min, it was very loud inside. I would not go back to this place.
Everything was absolutely fantastic!! The food was so fresh and delicious. Service was on point! Highly recommended!!
Very very very loud. Can’t even hear yourself think much less hold a conversation with your dining conpanion(s)
Prices very reasonable for amount of food. Rice was dry and bland and $9 (non-tableside made) guacamole needed salt and was tasteless. Nothing added but avocados it seemed. No reason to return.
Made a dinner reservation for 6:30 and was seated immediately upon arrival on a Friday night. The food was excellent in taste and presentation. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. Rocco's Tacos down the street or El Camino? El Camino hands down!
Have been there several times. Seems to be going down hill ever time we go there. Too load to have conversations with people. Overly expensive margaritas. No free chips and salsa which is a huge bummer.
Food and service was very excellent. Drinks are very pricey.
1 star or 4 stars, It all depends.... if you are coming from the beach in a T-shirt and flip flops, stop in and have a few beers and loaded some nachos, I think you will enjoy this loud very casual Bar. But if you are looking for a Mex place for food, I would stay away. Our complete meal was unmemorable and forgettable. The meat in the taco was cold and the refried beans looked caned or even microwaved. The place its so nicely put together and the drinks were really creative and taste. But the food....unpredictable and tasteless. Even the Guacamole was unimpressive, how in the world can some ruin Guacamole? We had reservation and were seated right away, Service was good. The drinks and the drink menu offering was very impressive. Regarding the sloppy meal, Not sure if this was a night when the chef didn't show and they had to asked a non-experienced kitchen worker to take over tonight or if this is was standard fair for this location. After 45 mins we could not take the pain any longer. Our taste buds were in pain. This will go down in history as the shortest dinner we have ever had in our lives. I hope management takes a min to stop in and look at the dishes as they come out of the kitchen. For the restaurant community's benefit and management's reputation, I hope they fix things cause the place has potential. Mgmt please take a look at your food menu and it's preparation, it needs desperate help. Good luck.
They have a great atmosphere and great food, the service was very good, Lindsay was very helpful.
Food was really disappointing, we didn’t even eat most of it. Food came out before the drinks, honestly the food looked like it was pushed out too quick without any quality control. I should also mention, it was 11:00, empty restaurant and service was slow, inattentive and overall just not a good experience and we won’t be back.
Great service. Great food. Great margarita! My only negative comment is the noise level
Would prefer a few more healthier suggestions to dine there more frequently.
Tried their CBD margarita. It was amazing!!! Always love the food there.
I set a reservation. When we arrived the gentleman at the host counter was very nice. He went to find us a table and took a bit to get back. The two undereducated hostess sat three other walk in tables ahead of reservations. This was poor execution and left the entire remainder of our visit less than adequate. No apology, no acknowledgement...simply tried hiding the truth.
Our waitress was also lea than helpful. Pretty arrogant demeanor and would ask for someone else in the future visits.
Ambiance was beautiful. Gorgeous interior of the facility. However, super loud and could not carry a conversation with someone across the table.
Food was on point. Couldn’t say better things about the food, the gentleman that served the food or anyone else that came by to assist in table service.
Everything good! Thank you ! But servers not professional, sorry.
Great food and even better service every time. The taco Tuesday is an amazing deal and the restaurant is always busy (not just taco Tuesday). It is a bit noisy so don’t go if you want to have an intimate conversation but otherwise it’s such a great restaurant overall. I would definitely recommend coming to El Camino!!
Fun place a little loud but we were able to have a successful business dinner.
The only complaint I have ruined the whole experience. The kitchen is a play ground for a group of boys. A beautiful woman walked by on her way to the restroom, several of the staff acted as if they never saw a woman before. They were cat calling as if they were on a construction sight. Don't get me wrong, she was beautiful, she deserved more respect than what those BOYS gave her. As a manager, I would have turned heads if my employees treated a customer, even a employee like that. A business isn't your personal playground..
I love this restaurant. Happy hour is the best. Food is delish, drinks even better.
Food was good, drinks were good, unfortunately music was too loud for any type of conversation and it took anywhere from 15-20 min for our drinks to come.
Best place ever. Our waiter was patient, and took time explaining the menu and his favorites. Food and drinks were absolutely delicious!
