Echoes Restaurant Blue Mountains
Echoes Restaurant is renowned for its modern Australian cuisine with an Asian influence using fresh and local produce, which is complemented by specially selected boutique Australian and imported wines, all whilst enjoying the magically panoramic views of the Blue Mountains escarpment and Jamison Valley from the terrace.
Amazing service, Well and truly remarkable experience, Best quality fine dining.
A great meal. Unfortunately we missed the view as the valley was completely enclosed in fog. Is breathtaking though, as we saw the next day when the weather cleared
An excellent restaurant with the most beautiful view imaginable. The staff were helpful and attentive. I would highly recommend!
Food was very good and the view was special.
l booked online , l wanted to go to Darleys . I was on their webpage , it said they were open on the 28th , my husband’s Birthday , Open Table were on the right to that page to take the booking so naturally l thought l was making the booking for Darleys But no when we arrived at Darleys that night dressed ready to celebrate Darleys were closed ! We then went to Echoes and were terribly disappointed. Warm mineral water , the $2 bottle left on the table , l asked for ice to cool it down . The food not worth the $300 we paid . Disappointed.
Experience was overall positive. The service was great and the view is superb. Meals come out quickly. Fairly expensive meals for what you get although it Was satisfying and we didn’t leave hungry. The lychee panna cotta was amazing. Overall a great dining experience.
It's always a pleasure to bring people to Echoes. The staff are very polite, friendly and accommodating and the food is excellent. The view of the mountain range is normally beautiful but the day we were there was very hazy so we didn't see much but the relaxed ambiance made up for the lack of view. I love the fabric table cloths and attention to dining detail. None of us ate meat, only fish and vegetables but there were plenty of offerings on the menu giving us a good range of tastes to choose from and all tastily composed and beautifully presented. Next time I would like to try the sashimi platter, created in a unique inventive style. I'm looking forward to that.
Food was slightly above average but let down by the staff. The chef on duty did not understand the menu and was cooking by numbers. No one could explain the rationale behind battering the vegetables; and 2 of the staff didn’t even understand the word “ rationale”
The evening was topped off by a member of staff shouting at us across the room from behind the bar to ask if we had paid.
We were told someone would have got back to us ref the menu decisions however this still has not happened.
One of thé best table in Blue Moutain aera with avery good service.
As well as a spectacular location, Echoes offers outstanding cuisine across the range of fine beef and lamb and surprisingly good seafood. The view is as advertised, with the use of sun blinds available for those facing directly into the western gulf sun but we, and our overseas guests, were pleasantly surprised by the sophisticated fare. The wine list included several excellent local choices including from the Hunter, Orange and Mudgee as well as a reasonable range of wines from the major national wine regions. We hope to return on our next trip to the mountains.
Beautifully scenic location with great food and friendly informative service. Our waitstaff member, Krista was exceptional in insuring our dining experience was one to remember. Very keen to recommend and return.
amazing view with great food and service - cocktails were pretty good too
Lovely view, food and atmosphere. Service was very attentive and considerate.
Would go again
The setting was terrific, and the service by the staff was attentive whilst not hovering. The presentation of the food was very good and of a good size.
The view is absolutely great and we enjoyed the evening a lot. The service was very good and the atmosphere is really nice as well. Unfortunately the food was not as good as expected. The prices are high and I would expect not only good looking food but also very tasty food. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the latter one. The gravy was pretty tasteless and the side dishes as well. I had much better food in other places for less money. I assume the you pay a lot for money for the view. One more thing that we have to add is the artificial candles on the table. If i pay 300 $ for a nice dinner I at least expect real candles on the table. Overall we really enjoyed the evening for the atmosphere and the view, however the food needs improvement to fit the rest. Only good looking is not enough.
Although the food was pleasant it is overpriced, given the meal size and quality - based on the price I was expecting something outstanding. Also there was no view, which I expected given the photos online. Service was however good.
Impeccable well paced service complemented the wonderful food.
Great views, Great food and Great service.
An amazing experience and must go to restaurant.
Over priced pub food, not even the view could compensate for the disappointment.
Beautiful food and such a cosy romantic setting.
My husband and I could not make one criticism about either the food or the wine we ordered, the service or the staff - all fantastic! It would be great to go there for lunch any time or dinner in summer when the amazing view could be added to the experience.
We went to Echoes Restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday. Fabulous location, excellent food and a view to die for.
But the standout was the service from our waiter, Sagar. He always approached us with a friendly smile, he was helpful and attentive. When we dine at Echoes Restaurant again (and we will as we are locals) we hope that we again have the pleasure of Sagar being our waiter.
The food and service were fabulous with the breathtaking view.
When I asked about parking before the arrival, they said that I can park in the front garden but I was warned that there may be an occasion that I might be asked to move the car. I visited on a quiet weekday and I didn't have to move my car. If you are going during the busiest season, parking can be a problem as nearby streets are very busy.
Average food. Average entrees, one of which had very dry duck and a salad that was not fresh. One steak for the mains was not cooked as requested, too raw to finish. Did not stay for desert. Wouldn’t recommend. Service was fine.
Although it was starting to get dark I could make out the beautiful view from the restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff were happy to accommodate any requests for changes required to food on the menu. I plan to return next season so I can enjoy good food with a great view.
The view was spectacular and the service was fantastic we will definitely be back!
Delicious food and wonderful venue! Will definitely return in future.
Beautiful restaurant to eat at, food was absolutely amazing.
It is expensive but worth it.
We had to try it out, but that's as far as I would really go.
The atmosphere was nice, service good, but the food only ok. For the prices we paid I would have expected greatness.
The homemade bread was good & we had a nice wine, but at pretty expensive price.
Just love the atmosphere, the service the food, the view.
Definitely I will come back.
Absolutely beautiful setting for a drink or meal, the afternoon tea was amazing!
Incredible view, lovely atmosphere, impeccable service and absolutely delicious food. What a gem!
Great service and absolutely amazing food and drinks. Wide variety.
I found the food and ambiance wonderful and serviced was so friendly and always with a smile!
Only one criticism, and it’s only a small one, and that is it would have been extra lovely if wait staff weren’t so persistent in asking how our food and evening were going.
We understand where the sentiment is coming from, but at times felt a little crowded or as if trying to hurry us.
Overall Exhoes is definitely a place we’d come to again for a special occasion.
Untrained front of house staff.
Pity over the last 15 years the service at Echoes has slipped dramatically and not up to scratch for a fine dinning establishment.
It appears to be staffed with hospitality students who are not being taught what they need to know and customers are neglected.
Echoes used to have front of house staff who place the napkin on your lap once you were seated but not anymore.
Staff used to wait until both until both guests were finished their food before removing any dishes but twice during the evening we were shocked as a staff member picked up the plates on the first of us to finish, they stood with dirty plate and cutlery waiting for the other one of us to finish. Just appalling. Anyone would think it was a cheap cafe with that behaviour.
Crumbs remained on our table all night. They should have been brushed off.
Once we were served our main it was hard to find any staff. Not professional! Pity as the food apart from the bland dark rice pudding was very good as one expects at this price level.
The food was good and so was the service but the dining area was extremely hot. We stayed at a related hotel so we were seated next to the window, which had the blind drawn to keep out the sun so there was no view at all but even so it was still like sitting in a glasshouse and we dripped sweat through the meal. Two small fans did not move the air at all and there was no air conditioning that we could discern. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone on a hot day.
The staff at Echoes were very obliging. We brought international guests with us and, of course, the view was magnificent. We also asked for a window seat, but when we arrived, we changed our minds and decided to be seated outside where it was breezier. Our wait staff, Huy, was very accommodating. He also served us for our lunch. We also asked to be moved inside for our dessert because it was much cooler inside, and Huy, was again, very obliging.
Our entrees, mains and desserts were delicious. Presentation, most appealing.
Would we return ? - Absolutely !
Thank you, Echoes Restaurant for making such a great impression !
Steak was OK but Barramundi fish has an opporunity to be better.
In summer, the place is hot becz there is no air conditioner but only two fans.
Nonetheless, the view is fantastic.
Food was spectacular and the location is stunning, the dining room was just way too hot. We had to move outside halfway through dinner to try and get some cool breeze, as none of the windows open.If they installed air con the dining experience would be perfect.
Great food and great service. Have been before and will go again next time I'm in Katoomba. Would be great if the two course option was available for Saturday's though, with 3 courses it's a lot to eat.
