Having relocated from it's original location in Brisbane CBD to the fast growing inner-city residential mecca, Newstead, e'cco has been positioned to prosper for the next 23 years and beyond.

As one of Brisbanes premier restaurants for over two decades, our experiences was everything we had imagined. It was quite obvious the other diners were having a similarly wonderful experience as us
Their food is like an art, beautiful yet delicious
Despite the age ranges of our family group and casual attire (daughter in sports uniform due to time constraints) we were delighted with the service, food and wine. Thanks for your lovely approach.
Excellent food, creative menu, ample portions, excellent waiter service and opportunity to interact with the kitchen.
Overall great experience and well worth trying.
A fresh approach that works
We booked the lunch special and it was fabulous; food-wise and value-wise. The serving were very generous, for lunch. Possibly half the entre serving would suffice for an entree. I would definately book again and recomment others to dine here.
As usual this place has not let me down. Amazing food and service every time.
This was our first time dining at the new premises. Previously Ecco has being our favourite restaurant in Bris. So we were looking forward to dining in the new restaurant. Unfortunately I have to say the three of us were underwhelmed. We found the ambience, service and food average. Sorry to be critical. But wanted to give you an honest feedback
Don't get the table near the front door because every time someone enters or leaves the restaurant the curtain billows and it ends up being a bit annoying. I ended up facing the carpark - it would be nice if all the seats in this part of the restaurant faced out into the main area. Service as very good and a glass of flat Champagne was promptly replaced. Food was good, and we ended up sharing a few different courses, which was nice, but somehow I got the feeling that I could have cooked the same at home. Maybe I'm fooling myself. The restaurant had 2 seatings on the night we were there, and it could have caused us a problem because we only finished our mains at 7:50 and had to leave at 8:00, but we didn't feel like any dessert so it wasn't an issue, but might be for others.
The winter lunch special was delicious and excellent value. Service was friendly and helpful. The birthday treat was a surprise and was a great finish to an enjoyable and relaxing experience.
Very enjoyable notably the service was outstanding
Food and service was outstanding! Special occasion for four people and we were given a lovely table down two stairs and behind a see-through curtain. Noise level was excellent and we were able to converse easily. the other table in this area was far enough away that they did not intrude.
Had the degustation menu and the food was beautiful and the portions generous.
Will definitely go again soon.
We had the degustation and could not fault it. Would highly recommend it.
Expensive but delicious food - Everyone in our group of four totally enjoyed the food and the experience.
Food was divine. Service excellent. Whole experience was amazing.
I had not been to the restaurant since it moved but it is a lovely spot and the food was amazing as always!!
Totally suited my palate - excellent food & service. Highly recommend.
We had the Winter warmer set menu. The food was stunning. The French waiter and Hostess ( sorry have forgotten their names) were incredible with their knowledge of wine and food. They both added to make our day perfect.
So disappointing, we expected the E'cco of old.
Very average wine list and over priced.
We have been patrons of E'cco for over 20 years, but no more
Wholesome, fresh ingredients and beautiful food combinations. Great service and lovely restaurant ambience. Loved it.
I was a little disappointed with my experience at Ecco. I have been many times before and this time it was not really up to their usual standard. We went there for the winter 2 course menu. We chose the seared kingfish for entrée and the mackerel for main. The kingfish was completely cooked through, we imagined it would be raw with just a light searing. So when our main came out, it was essentially the same. As there were only two choices for each course, it probably should have been a bit better thought through. The service staff were very nice but I did feel as though they pushed sides on us a bit which we did not need in the end as the meals were a good size on their own. Food and service were good, just not great this time.
E'cco was my restaurant of choice for the night of my 50th birthday with close family.
As ever, it was exceptional. We were welcomed with champagne, Chef and owner Philip Johnson came over to say hello and offer birthday wishes, which always makes it that bit more special.
Being the restaurant experience control freak that I am, our group left the ordering for the table to me, so after selecting a lovely Red Burgundy to follow the champers, I ordered bread, oysters and prawns to start, then most of the meat dishes on the menu to have "family style" along with several vegetable sides as our main course.
It was a great way to do it, the timing was spot-on, and every dish was cooked perfectly.
Our gorgeous server was attentive and one step ahead of me all the way, I am so sorry I don't remember her name. I blame the champagne!
It was a really lovely evening. Can't wait 'til next time.
Fabulous food and service. Will definitely be back again!
Food and service were v good. Limited number of options on the menu that I would order. Cheesecake was v good.
Having attended a fantastic function recently at the newly relocated Ecco, we were excited to go on a normal restaurant night. Dining times are split by early or late sittings and we chose the late sitting of 8:15 although a dining time of 7:30 would have been preferable. Given there were only two other tables in the restaurant when we arrived, I don’t think the split sittings are necessary on a Tuesday night. We should have called ahead to request an earlier time.
Despite being the only table left in the restaurant at 9pm we still hadn’t received our second of five courses. The wait between courses was too long. The food was mostly disappointing however the beef course was delicious and dessert was nice. Only one of the three kitchen staff seemed to be preparing food and one chef was lolling around draped over the benches. Our waitress was lovely and professional. All staff (bar one) left before we did.
even better than the old Ecco. Entree sized plates are just right for ladies having lunch so there's room for scrummage desert.
Incredible - the service, the food and the ambience. We loved everything about this restaurant. Definitely our new go to!!
The food and service on the night was excellent, but when I rang to make our initial booking, the person on the phone was so rude we almost didn't go ahead. It left us with a bad feeling on the night and we cancelled another larger booking because how rude this lady was. I would recommend it but check your customer service from start to finish. Very disappointed in this part.
E’cco was recommended to us for our birthday celebration. The service was good and the food tasty and imaginative. There were not a lot of dairy free options which made things very difficult for one of our party. They did surprise us with birthday brownies which was lovely. The combination of the acoustics evening and a very loud table next to us made it hard for us to have a conversation virtually impossible. Such a shame for an otherwise enjoyable evening.
I like your old stuff better than your new stuff.
It’s been a couple of years since we’ve eaten here. It used to be a-maz-ing! Now it’s ok. Nothing wrong with anything, just doesn’t have that spark like it used to - both service and food wise.
A fantastic restaurant in all respects, food was outstanding, service without fault. Wine list showcased some local gems, love Bents Road. Went there the weekend after the ridiculous review in the Weekend Australian Mag, think I’ll cancel my subscription.
The food was absolutely outstanding. Would highly recommend E'cco - hadn't been there for years and it didn't disappoint. Very reasonably priced as well. I think it is a fabulous lunch venue but need to get back for a dinner date with hubby.
Fabulous food and service in a relaxed setting. We had the Chef’s Tasting Menu - each course was interesting, flavoursome and beautifully presented. We look forward to returning soon.
What can one say about E'cco this restaurant always impresses. The Duck in particular is superb.
First time Ecco diner so I couldn’t compare to the old venue. We had a lovely time, we had the degustation and enjoyed all courses apart from the first one wasn’t really my cup of tea, due to the ginger and a bit too spicy.
The wine list didn’t seem to have much flexibility in terms of wine by the glass.
The ambience was ok however kind of felt like it was missing something ? In saying that , for such a new venue they have done quite well to bring in some warmth.
The host was fantastic she is clearly the heart and soul of the place and her welcoming and genuine approach for me made up for the missing elements of ambience.
It is definitely a place I can see myself returning to many times, and by far my best dining experience in Brisbane for quite some time.
Things have changed following the move and now find the menu very confusing. Not sure we’d return to our long time favourite.
Excellent as always-delicious food, beautifully presented.
A great experience. The pumpkin dish was fantastic and the kipfler potato dish was brilliant.
Ecco is hands down one of Brisbane’s best dining experiences. Love the new location and same wonderful food.
Really great food and excellent service and worth visiting. It does have a slightly noisy bar / bistro type vibe so not great for a romantic dinner.
Excellent food as usual - although the service was slower then previous visits
