This is 100% one of the best cocktail bars we’ve been to anywhere in the world. Josh, was an absolutely top class waiter who new the ingredients of every drink and perfectly tailored our cocktails to our taste. Don’t lose him as he’s an exceptional employee who went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent experience.
TOOOOOOOOO noisy. Could not talk, what's the point?
We were 13 minutes late to arrive for our booking and our space on the lounge had been given away.
Great night out. Watching drinks get made is entertainment in itself. Staff friendly and knowledgeable about their products. Highly recommend! You
As usual the cocktails & atmosphere were fabulous. Very busy night but we were made welcome and received attentive service. We will happily return.
Atmospheric bar scene with an impressive range of cocktails on offer. Some cocktails come with free 'entertainment' as the bar person pours cold liquid nitrogen on top of the cocktail! It is quite dark though and I prefer more light as I communicate using sign language, but that is a small issue that did not affect a terrific night out with friends.
Awesome first date place. These guys should by stock in Tinder
The main host was very condescending, rude, and had an air of being better than us. He made me really uncomfortable by speaking about our group needing to reach a minimum spend of $600 - even though when I booked on the phone I was advised that would apply only if we were in a private room or if there were 13 or more of us. The bar was empty all night and we spent around $500, yet he continually made me feel uncomfortable about the situation and told me he’d have to discuss it with the manager on Monday before he decided a course of action. I had planned this evening for my husband’s 40th, and it was completely ruined for me. It also made my friends feel very awkward. This man also made a rude joke about my friend’s Scottish accent and made him feel very embarrassed. All in all it was a pretty massive letdown and it’s left me feeling very disappointed.
A charming little bar. Well worth a visit. Waiters were exceptional. Great cocktail selection
Excellent service. Great cocktails. Fun night. Highly recommend.
Fantastic place. One of the best cocktail bars in Sydney. Attentive, smiley service which is not necessarily common in cocktail bars these days! The cocktail menu is huuuuuge and exciting.
We enjoyed the whisky and cheese flight at this place which is becoming our favourite hangout. Quiet and lovely on a weeknight, but a lot more noisy on Friday and Saturdays. Beautiful, soulful cocktails.
Been to EDV a few times now. Great ambience. Fantastic whiskey selection, from regular to rare and expensive. Need to book though.
Every single time my friends and I go to Eau de Vie we are amazed with the great attention, great service and great cocktails. The greatest part of the evening is the theatrical performances as some cocktails are enhanced with a shower of liquid nitrogen and flaming paper money right in front of you. Love this place.
Cool vibe, intimate setting. Staff seemed well versed with the offerings on the drinks menu. Pretty dark which is very cool but so dark that I couldn’t read the menu so relied heavily on the wait staff and I wasn’t disappointed.
We were squashed onto a small table with no leg room and in a thoroughfare. Cocktails were ok but the martini really watery. The staff were run off feet and so service was poor.
Excellent knowledgable staff. Big thank you to Josh on our table. We let him pick dri ks for us pending on our tastes and were bang on. Definitely going back to go through more items.
Fun, atmospheric and incredible drinks. Very knowledgable staff.
Sharp noisy atmosphere; Melbourne has a more relaxed vibe.
Awesome cocktails, although we were told this wasn't really the place for groups of friends to hang out, rather a meeting place for more intimate dates.
Great cocktails and staff. Small location so make sure you make reservations. For some reason the reservation time they had didn’t match my open table time, so at first there was a lot of confusion and they looked like they weren’t going to honor the reservation. But they did and were very hospitable.
Service was great, but the tasting was very overpriced at $40 each for stale crackers a bit of cheese and figure it out for yourself whisky, when compared to the a tasting and distillery tour of Archie Rose in roseberry at $30 I do really wonder where the value comes from at Eau De Vie.
Do like the venue and cocktails which are always superb.
The drink menu was awesome, there were so many things to choose for drinks. But the place was a bit too small when my friend wanted to go to bathroom another friend need to lift a stool so she could go to the bathroom and quite very loud, to be honest very disappointed of the reputation of the place as I thought it would be much quieter as there was suggestion for a romantic place.
Attentive service. Excellent cocktails
We went there for the $1 oysters, which were a bit of a let down because they didn’t taste very fresh but the drinks and ambiance were great. Would definitely go there for drinks again, not the oysters. The picking platter looked good though we were a little scarred from the oysters.
Love Eau De Vie. Always enjoy the service and cocktails.
Wonderful service, great vibe and amazing selection of drinks
Great venue. Good service and great cocktails! The service staff was extremely polite and professional.
The cocktails are amazing but the slow service let it down.
The whisky degustation was really nice and the cheeses as well. We came early so it was not too noisy. We will come back!
Great service. Drinks were a work of art. Very noisy and crowded however so not very romantic when you’re yelling at each other to hear your partner talk.
It's got awards for good reasons. The cocktails here are serious business and you understand this from the variety of the items on the menu. The staff is amazing too
We were there for whiskey Wednesday and had an amazing time. My husband loved the whiskeys and the service that came with them and I a couple of fantastic cocktails. Such a great atmosphere.
Beautiful setting and amazing cocktails, the staff were lovely as well.
An amazing venue featuring an incredibly eclectic collection of cocktails that were as tasty as they were impressive. The sheer range invoked childish delight in all of us as each new creation was presented and tasted. Wonderful fun and great quality drinks. We will be back.
I had a birthday party here and the ambience and service were amazing. There was so much excellent food for the price we paid, everyone loved the venue and the staff were attentive and made the evening run perfectly. I would highly recommend this venue.
My friends and i were so disappointed by our experience at 'Eau de Vie'. Service was slow and our waitress was unenthusiastic, bordering on rude.Cocktails were delicious but i definitely wouldn't recommend this place if you're after a fun, friendly experience. It was a terrible choice for my friends birthday.
Went here after dinner on a Sunday. The first time I visited my experience was much more pleasant.Unfortunately on this particular night, only one bar tender and waitress was available for a near full bar. Service standards reflected this and ordering/receiving drinks took a lot longer than reasonable.
