Duke's Seafood - Lake Union
We arrived late for our reservation but still were seated right away at a window with a lovely view.
Staff was friendly if a little inattentive for such a pricey place. We sat after finishing our meal for a solid 15-20 minutes before we could flag down our server for the check, never asked if we wanted any refills or requests if we needed anything else.
The award winning chowder was delicious, my husband got the quad sampler and said the other three were less so however. Chips were great but chicken, while made well, definitely could use some spices, salt and pepper at the least...
Overall nice experience but would go back for lunch rather than dinner probably.
Amazing food, amazing service. Just an overall great experience at a wonderful restaurant that is obviously managed extremely well. Will definitely be back!
Good as always. Cool views and friendly server. Oysters weren't as marvellous as on other visits, but good.
Visiting Seattle and choose this restaurant thru yelp and it did not disappoint. The macadamia halibut was dee-lish, the salads were fabulous - the service excellent and the location terrific. A great choice and enjoyed by all
We had the clam chowder and it is amazing!! I don’t eat seafood and I fell in love with this chowder! This is a Seattle must. We are here twice in 4 days.
Really fantastic all around. The Brussel sprouts on the special menu were insanely good. The crab dip was delicious too. There are so many great entree choices. My husband loved his fish and chips and cup of chowder. I lived many years in Alaska, and the halibut macadamia nut was the best halibut I’ve ever eaten. Our non seafood eating friend really enjoyed her patty melt from the special menu. The ambiance was very nice, excellent service. Really glad we booked in here.
Great food, good service, and beautiful location. Not inexpensive but worth it for special occasion
Our waiter spent most of his time at the bar waiting for drink orders. He could have checked on all of his tables during that time, but he just stood there waiting for the drinks to be made. He did this all night, so in the one full hour+ we were there, he checked on us once when he took our order. The second time, I had to flag him down for a to-go box; and believe it or not, I had to flag him down a third time to get the bill! Why didn't he bring the bill with the to-go box??? We had to wait another 15 minutes before I could get his attention for the bill. Terrible service! But the food was great!
Food was fantastic
Birthday w family. Lacey originally introduced me to the email club & your new south lake union location back in October. In fact the two owners of the Wild Sage in Spokane were with me that night & really enjoyed the experience, so that says a lot! I’ve been back a couple times since & highly recommend this location & Lacey!
You can always count on getting fresh seafood, served on time and proper temperature. Attentive service, good selection. Will return.
We were visiting from Seattle for my friends Birthday and Willow was the BEST ever!!! She was attentive and super informative. She was friendly and understanding that we were "hangry". She gave us recommendations and was so fun to be around. Keep people like Willow around. The food was great and the view was beautiful.
Duke's seafood offers affordable good quality seafood
Good but not great. Pleasing waterside ambiance. Our waiter was eager and accommodating but the service team was uneven. Water was never topped off or refilled. Two requests were made and acknowledged then promptly forgotten. Chowder was very tasty, tasting portion is a nice touch, attractively presented. Vaunted crab cakes were good but not great, we’ve definitely had better; token remoulade was ordinary and seemed like an afterthought. Oysters “Dukefeller” were very fresh but a bit too cheesy for us, I’d stick with the good selection of raw oysters next time. Potential is there and location is fairly new so hopefully they will raise their game commensurate with the premium waterfront pricing. After hearing our feedback on service, our friendly waiter comped two deserts so we left happy (deserts are sharing size and tasty) and will give them one more try.
Seattle has a lot better to offer, I’m sure the view is nice in warmer weather. I’d pass otherwise.
I made a meal choice and got 2 others in my party to order the same menu item. It was the pollock with prawns and crab...very delicious and filling.
We tried eating a Dukes a couple nights before and the wait was 45 minutes. This time we made reservations beforehand, which worked like a charm. Service was excellent and so was the food. Highly recommended.
Great meal at reasonable price in nice atmosphere.
We brought our friends from California to enjoy lunch here on Sunday. We each enjoyed a different dish and as usual the chowder is tops. They brought out a dessert for our two birthdays. Our server was excellent. Dukes is the restaurant we can always count on for excellence.
We loved our experience at Duke's!! I'm so glad I made a reservation as this place is busy! My spouse and I both had specials and they were so delicious! We also had a small bowl of chowder and it rivals all the others. I can't wait to return as this place is amazing!
Good food great location and good value.
Great service by John who took care of us. Perfect view of lake union!
Perfect for a visit with friends we had not seen for a while.
When I made the reservation, I had mentioned it was our anniversary. Everyone there was so nice and greeted us happy anniversary. That meant a lot to me. The food was awesome too, drinks were great and the view even at night was beautiful. I will definitely be back!
Simply the best Chowder I’ve ever had...and the bread is crazy good.
Great crab salad and Attentive Service. Lunch with a friend. We will be back.
Met there for a business lunch and asked for a larger table to accommodate 3 people plus computers for demonstrations. Everything was perfect without any issues at all. We were there 3 hours and the wait staff and management never made us feel rushed to leave at all. Definitely will return.
Great food, fantastic setting! Always a pleasure to eat at any Dukes location!
This was our first visit to the new Duke's on South Lake Union. The ambiance in the restaurant is very good. The decor makes the dining experience more enjoyable. The service was excellent and made the 50th Anniversary occasion we were celebrating even more enjoyable.
The new location is very nice. I am excited to come back and take advantage of their outdoor deck in nice weather. Pro Tip: go to lunch on Sunday when the sportsball is on the TV and you get your choice of tables.
The new Lake Union location is perfect.
We were a table of 6, most of the food we ordered was delicious. My husband and daughter had the fish and chips, they found the panko breading and the fish to be quite dry. I had the stuffed shrimp and lobster chowder, both were amazing!! Everyone else at our table was extremely satisfied with their meals.
Love the new space!!! It is very cool & pared with Duke's quality in food & service - you can't go wrong!
Far and away, the Marionberry pie with vanilla ice cream was on my top 2-3 desserts of all time.
The reason for my tepid review is that my adult son and I were placed at a tiny table wedged behind a giant pillar. Yes, we were at a window, but I was extremely claustrophobic. I felt like I was in a closet with a window. And the tables behind me and behind my son were adding to the “boxed in” feeling.
Delicious! Any chowder is a must. Best place ever!
Excellent chowder, salmon and halibut dishes. Nice views of water with yachts.
Our first time in the new South Lake Union location! The food and drinks were fabulous, as usual. Service was a bit disappointing as we’re used to great service at Duke’s. Our server was not very attentive & had to be asked repeatedly for the usuals like water refills and bread. We’ll be back with hopes for a return to great service.
