Ducie Street Warehouse
Manchester M1 2TP
Service was patchy:
1. Had to chase several items - drinks twice, coats reclaimed from storage and paying bill at the end.
2. Items on the menu, but not available - ordered a bottle of wine, which we had to chase, eventually to be told you didn’t have what we ordered so had to rethink and wait again (we already had our food by this time)- also waitress waited at table whilst we chose desserts and then informed me that you didn’t have my choice (which she clearly knew and could have informed us about).
3. We have been several times before and like the ambiance of the place, but last time we came our choice of mains was ‘off’ - so starting to become something of a trend? Shame - it impacts the experience.
This was a good evening, and it would have been an amazing evening, but the service was a real letdown. I went for my Dad's birthday and we were sat in a booth. Although this is nobody's fault (perhaps the architect's) there was a stand behind us for menus etc., but the two servers were talking very loudly to one another and right down our ears. I turned round at one point (I didn't pull a face, it was more of a polite non-verbal "you're very loud right now" signal), they left the area and proceeded to talk very obviously talk about us, laughing about the scene. My sister made a comment later in the evening about how loud they were each time as this happened multiple times unfortunately.
Although we weren't the last ones in, they were quite unwilling to offer more drinks, anything else, and the dessert menu literally never appeared, at which point we looked and they were both sat at the bar, eating dessert themselves. When my Dad asked for a menu there was no "I'm so sorry, let me get that for you", it was a disheartened "Yeah, sure".
Lastly, there was a straight couple having sex in the ladies toilets. The lady was very loudly moaning, it was only around 10pm, but this was extremely bizarre in my opinion.
Excellent meal at January deal prices with fab service as usual.
Went to a January deal at Bistroteque as we have never been there before. £20 for 3 courses. Food was unexpectedly delicious and the service excellent. Will definitely begoing back.
Attentive service. Food was amazing. Overall great restaurant and will be coming back.
We had American friends travelling through with just a few hours stop in Manchester in their way to Edinburgh from London. Bistrotheque is perfect central location near to Piccadilly , from the staff at the bar to the waiters service was so welcoming. Even when two more friends turned up with their new baby the staff accommodated everyone with ease. The food choice for our brunch lunch was perfect and very tasty, wine and cocktails went down well of course. There’s great vibe to the warehouse space and we will definitively be returning to Bistrotheque again soon.
