Doyles on the Beach
The sunset is a must on a clear night.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch, with friendly and efficient service.
Has lost its charm and now caters to the coach trips and mass market. Food was ok but a bit of a production line. Has gone down hill since our last visit 3 years ago.
There is a great winter but it isn't advertised on the menu.
We got it because we knew about it
The wine was $65 a botle and Dan Murphys sells it for $11.88 a bottle
Good value luncheon experience at an iconic Sydney beach restaurant. We have experienced various Doyles restaurant/ beach club/wharf/ and formerly ocean terminal circular quay facilities. Always enjoyable.
I have always loved Doyles and it was great to be able to take friends there for their first Doyles experience. Great food as usual - had to have the jumbo prawns - they are always a must.
it was very easy to book online.
We were very appreciative of the phone call beforehand to remind us that the City to Surf was on and that the traffic may be problematic, and thus to plan to travel by ferry.
We were also very impressed with the expert care of the staff on the day - attentive but unobtrusive. Staff were also very supportive of one of our party who had special mobility needs.
The main course was excellent, especially the steamed vegetables - the best I have ever tasted! Good number of selections.
The lovely window view just added to our group's enjoyment of the lunch.
We highly recommend Doyle's On The Beach!
Despite its reputation as a tourist venue, our (local) party of 8 enjoyed excellent food & service. It was a little cool in our corner but otherwise we had a great night and the design of the rooms means you aren't on top of the other diners, always good when in a group. The meals were all excellent, the garlic prawns a highlight for me.
Usually have a lunch at Doyle's when we are in town and as usual food was great, staff very friendly and helpful and the view was fantastic
Absolutely love eating here! A great place to take family and friends and what amazing views.
took advantage of the winter special. Very enjoyable time & setting. service was very good.
Myself and my wife, had a fantastic time, can't wait to go back.
Expensive but worth it. Wonderful location. We will return.
Had a similar dinner at better value at Flying Fish a couple of days ago.
The seafood at Doyle's is not as fresh.
Most dishes were too oily, and the seafood quality was quite mediocre. Nothing high end..more like a local fish and chips shop quality really.
Food + ambience was amazing. Service was a bit disappointing.
On arriving at Doyle’s we were told by a member of staff that they would be with us shortly. As we were waiting we were rudely screamed at by another member of staff that we were not in the reservation queue and marched back to it, even though at the time we arrived nobody was In this queue. We were with elderly friends and this was upsetting to them and ruined our experience at Doyle’s.
Absolutely loved it. Will visit again when next in Sydney hopefully
We celebrated our daughter’s 13th Birthday there. Just the family. It was the perfect ambience and the manager, Amith was very friendly and came over for a quick chat which we thought was lovely. Overall we loved it, the views were amazing.
I loved coming here. It was an amazing Sunday morning and the views were spectacular. I ordered so well for all 3 courses and I could definitely recommend the garlic prawns for entree. They were outstanding and I couldn’t get enough of them. I loved my main which was the barramundi with potato mash and sauce. So amazing would come back here in a heart beat
Went for my wedding anniversary special occassion which booked in advance and was seated at the end of the oustide tables against the Doyles sign. I always recommend people visiting Doyles as have been here multiple times but service and food quality has definitely deteriorated over the last couple of years. Scallops were nice as entree however garlic prawns were oily and bullets that hadnt properly been pealed with shell over the body not just tails. The fish and chips was very disappointing with chips cold and undercooked and my flathead quite dry. Dont think I will be returning anytime soon after this
Thank you for a nice evening with good food and good service. Hope to visit again soon.
Our experience this week was below average waiter very poor not confident when asked a question about menu. Stood hovering over table but unable to serve as previous experience. This was disappointing as I had taken someone special to show them how great Doyle’s is but wasn’t so on 27/07/2019 😟
Chic, peaceful, gorgeous and fab defined.
Highly recommended as the staff and environment sets your mood to another level.
Id suggest relocation of the down stairs ( Que here sign ) as people kept walking past the sign & standing waiting to be served right next to my wife & I's table
Then there chatting away whilst the wait staff were preparing there tables
Next time I visit Ill be requesting a table on the beach well away from the control area
WE had a wonderful lunch yesterday at Doyles on the Beach. The service and the food were fantastic. All the staff were attentive and they gave my friend a happy birthday song with a candle in a glass of icescream. She was very happy.
Dinner was amazing. The stuffed Jumbo Prawns were sooo good.
Wonderful place, lovely food, good service. A real treat.
We had a lovely lunch-- the food was outstanding, however, the only thing wrong was the view. For such an amazing situation, we were disappointed that as I looked directly ahead, all I could see was a large black sign telling customers to wait there for their table. I had to turn my head to the right to see the lovely harbour view which meant I was turning my head away from my partner-- a little disappointing.
Also we were not offered the winter special menu which would have been a lot better value for money-- again, disappointing.
Simply excellent! Fabulous food, great service all served up in a wonderful setting - what’s not to love!
Excellent food and customer service. We had the season special of baked snapper which was delicious. Two kids also enjoyed the fish and chips. Would highly recommend with one of the best views in Sydney.
The food, especially the fish pie, was utterly tasteless. We couldn’t even eat the chips they were so black/discoloured/unappetising. Overpriced and below a standard you could even enjoy. Add to this the exorbitant price, and I can tell you I won’t be back, nor will I recommend it.
Despite booking months in advance and requesting an indoor table, and even confirming this in the lead up to the day, we were given an outdoor table.
The seafood platter is not a generous as others.
The weekend surcharge and mark up on wine is over the top.
Excellent food and service. We have visited this location several times now and will continue to do so. You expect to pay more for the type of food and service and we were not disappointed at all....
We took the ferry from the central ferry terminal. We had our daughter and son-in-law and their children (3 and 18 months). We found the whole experience to be amazing. Kids were catered for. View was tremendous. Ferry trip in and out was great for kids. As Melbourne visitors we highly recommend a lunch at Doyles!
The food was lovely, portions were quite large. I had an entree serve if calamari which were cooked to perfection served with a nice aioli mayonnaise.
The wine selection was excellent.
4th year with same group of friends. Had the Winter Special. Food fantastic. Service a little slow. Will return
Everything was great service was wonderful fish was amazing
Really a delightful experience. Hard to pick the best aspect cos every one and everything was so great.
Travelled from Newcastle to dine here. Thought the food was overpriced and did not expect that Saturday would have been surcharged plus surcharge on credit card and silly me gave a tip on top. Was an expensive lunch.
